The USB sticks are of different brands, and one is new. The first attempt produced the warning that is pasted just below. Long story short, I believe that this system cannot burn a USB stick. I cannot kill the currently running sync process and will have to again reboot. And this is a regression from a previous kernel? I.e. from which one? 6.5.y series won't be updted anymore and we have 6.6.8-1 in unstable. Is the problem reproducible there? Bug#913532: apt triggers konsole problem?
I think that 'apt-get upgrade' in the konsole window may trigger the problem, which occurs fairly often. Perhaps that could mean that the problem is actually with apt rather than konsole itself? Bug#913532: konsole: copy-paste functionality sometimes disappears
Package: konsole Version: 4:18.04.0-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, With Version 18.04.0 of konsole on an up-to-date Stretch installation, I find in some konsole windows that copying text no longer works. I can still highlight text and type Ctrl-shift-C and Ctrl-shift-V without error, but the paste produces some old, unexpected output. The same old output also shows up in klipper. The dropdown Edit menu at the top of konsole windows has the same symptom, producing the same old paste. It feels like what's in the paste buffer is becoming immutable at some point. You might think that the problem lies with klipper rather than with konsole, but other konsoles that are already open and newly created konsoles still work fine. I'd be happy to run any diagnostics when the problem occurs in order to help diagnose it. When I run scanimage, the illumination is red, and the file is empty. Both 'man sane-genesys' and http://www.sane-project.org/sane-mfgs.html say that the Xerox Travel Scanner 100 is well-supported. Bug#903871: libsane: sane-genesys backend segfaults
Package: libsane Version: 1.0.25-4.1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, scanimage and xsane cannot operate the Xerox Travel Scanner 100. Bug#900659: xsane: Preview results in SEGV
Package: xsane Version: 0.999-5 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, *** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate *** * What led up to the situation? Attempts to use the Preview feature result in SEGV 100% of the time. Scanner is brother DSmobile 600, which worked with Jessie fine. Without Preview, images are all black. Attempts to correct them fail. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? I cannot figure out a solution. Here is the backtrace from GDB. I'd be happy to compile the package again from source and gather more info, although not if I must compile GTK, too! The automatically include syslog contains only the latest, clean boot, so I'm going to edit it below to contain the backtrace.Looks like the bug is in EXT4. Bug#773894: some info about 773894
I apologize for the fact that the following information that I entered at reportbug was not included. Michael Biebl suggests to me that the fact that the latest fuse package creates /lib/modules-load.d/fuse.conf is a bug. I have fuse_2.9.3-15+b1_amd64.deb and am running the Testing rolling release. He suggests that this file was formerly needed in orderly to manually load the fuse module but that it should now be loaded automatically. Thanks for doing the hard work to maintain the package, Alison Chaiken -- Alison Chaiken ali...@she-devel.com 650-279-5600http://{she-devel.com, exerciseforthereader.org} Never underestimate the cleverness of advertisers, or mischief makers, or criminals. -- Don Norman
