Bug#1062256: RM: pdfcube -- ROM; Has obsolete dependencies, not maintained upstream

2024-01-31 Thread Andreas Moog
Package: ftp.debian.org
Severity: normal
User: ftp.debian@packages.debian.org
Usertags: remove
X-Debbugs-Cc: pdfc...@packages.debian.org
Control: affects -1 + src:pdfcube

Hi,

the package pdfcube depends on the obsolete gtkglext package. There has
been no activity upstream for the past 9 years so porting is probably not
happening.

It should therefore be removed from Debian Unstable (it is already out of
Testing)

Thanks!

Best regards

Andreas

Bug#900520: RFS: node-abbrev/1.1.1-1 (Team Upload)

2018-05-31 Thread Andreas Moog
Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: normal

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for the package "node-abbrev".
I am uploading this as a team upload.

 * Package name: node-abbrev
 Version : 1.1.1-1
 Section : javascript

It builds those binary packages:

node-abbrev - Get unique abbreviations for a set of strings - Node.js module

You can find the updated sources from salsa with:

  git clone https://salsa.debian.org/js-team/node-abbrev.git

I have verified that the reverse-depends still work with the new version.

Changes since the last upload:

node-abbrev (1.1.1-1) unstable; urgency=medium

  * Team upload.
  * New upstream release
  * debian/control:
+ Switch VCS-Uri to salsa
+ Switch to dh compat level 11
+ Priority is optional
+ Compliant with Policy 4.1.4
+ add node-tap and node-util for running testsuite
  * debian/copyright:
+ Switch to https-Url
+ Update copyright years
  * debian/install:
+ Install to /usr/lib/nodejs/abbrev/ instead directly to /usr/lib/nodejs
+ Also install package.json
  * debian/rules:
+ Run testsuite during build
  * debian/tests:
+ Add autopkgtest to run basic "require" test and run testsuite

Thanks for sponsoring!

Bug#900441: Misses executable, possible candidate for removal?

2018-05-30 Thread Andreas Moog
Package: bwbar
Version: 1.2.3-3
Severity: grave

Hi there,

the package bwbar is at least since August 2017 completely unusable:

andreas@leonard:~$ dpkg -L bwbar
/.
/etc
/etc/default
/etc/default/bwbar
/etc/init.d
/etc/init.d/bwbar
/usr
/usr/share

/usr/share/doc/bwbar
/usr/share/doc/bwbar/README
/usr/share/doc/bwbar/README.Debian
/usr/share/doc/bwbar/changelog.Debian.gz
/usr/share/doc/bwbar/copyright
/usr/share/man
/usr/share/man/man8
/usr/share/man/man8/bwbar.8.gz

As you can see there is no binary in this package at all. While the fix would
be very trivial (adding one line to debian/install) I wonder if it wouldn't
make more sense to have this package removed.

Reasons:
  - Currently unusable
  - No upstream activity since 2013
  - No reverse-depends

Kind regards // Viele Grüße

I did a quick rebuild and test with autopkgtest and found that the newest
version (1.7.1) unfortunately breaks node-browser-resolve, version 1.6.0
however doesn't seem to break any packages. What version of node-resolve do you
need in your package, Julien?

Bug#900195: autopkgtest failure

2018-05-27 Thread Andreas Moog
Package: node-grunt-cli
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

Hi there,

the autopkgtest in node-grunt-cli is failing, see for example
https://ci.debian.net/packages/n/node-grunt-cli/unstable/amd64/
The reason is that the tests try to import a grunt-cli module, which does not
exist. I have created a merge-request in salsa to instead simply call
"grunt --version" as a smoketest.

The merge request is at
https://salsa.debian.org/js-team/node-grunt-cli/merge_requests/1

I think from reading the dpkg-maintscript-helper manpage the version you use is
wrong:

dir_to_symlink /usr/share/doc/mocha libjs-mocha 4.0.1-1~

meaning the version where the conversion is done must be lower than 4.0.1-1.

My understanding is that you need to put 4.1.0+ds-1~ as version since you want
to have the coversion done for all prior versions.

that needs to be done to keep it updated isnt't really justified.

The RM bug is https://bugs.debian.org/879505.

Thanks!

Beste Grüße!

Bug#879505: RM: pauker -- ROM; Abandoned Upstream, low popcon, needs porting work

2017-10-22 Thread Andreas Moog
Package: ftp.debian.org
Severity: normal

Hallo there,

please remove the package "pauker" from Debian. It is abandoned upstream,
has a very low popcon and would need porting work to continue building
(see also #875388).

Personally I don't use pauker anymore and it wouldn't be nice to just orphan
the package in its current state.

Thank you!

Kind regards,
  Andreas Moog

(I know that the bug is 7 years old)

This looks like it was a misconfiguration on your end. You most likely
configured reportbug to use your smarthost, but didn't add valid credentials
for reportbug to use (smtpuser/smtppasswd config options). So when you try to
send the report, your smarthost (mail.rolamasao.org) rejected the mail.

I think it is safe to close this report, feel free to reopen if you encounter
the issue again.

Kind regards,
  Andreas

Bug#871086: extsmail: patch for the FTBFS error

2017-10-07 Thread Andreas Moog
Control: tags 871086 + patch

Dear maintainer,

The cause for the error is that the package build system defines "-Wno-format",
which clashes with the hardening build flags that are exported via
dpkg-buildflags. I have attached a patch that fixes this build error by
disabling the "format" hardening feature via debian/rules.

I'll be looking for a sponsor, feel free to upload a fix yourself or tell me
if I shouldn't upload the nmu. Thanks.

Regards.

Bug#875822: Should certmaster be removed from Debian?

2017-09-30 Thread Andreas Moog
Hello Nima,

I've been looking at this bug report and wonder if the best course of action
for Debian would be to remove certmaster from the archive. It hasn't seen any
maintainer-upload since 2009, the homepage is gone and I can't find any
active upstream development repository. Additionally, the popcon is really low
(expected from a experimental-only package) and it was never included in any
stable Debian release.

If you agree on the removal, just say the word and I'll file the bug.

Thanks!

Regards,
  Andreas

I am looking for a sponsor for a nmu of the package "bossa"

 * Package name: bossa
   Version : 1.3~20120408-5.1
   Section : electronics

It builds those binary packages:

bossa - Atmel SAM ARM microcontroller flash programming GUI
bossa-cli - Atmel SAM ARM microcontroller flash programming utility

To access further information about this package, please visit the following
URL:

  https://mentors.debian.net/package/bossa

Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this command:

  dget -x
https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/b/bossa/bossa_1.3~20120408-5.1.dsc

Changes since the last upload:

  bossa (1.3~20120408-5.1) unstable; urgency=medium

  * Non-maintainer upload.
  * Apply patch from upstream git to fix FTBFS with GCC7 (Closes: #853338)

Regards,
  Andreas Moog

Bug#853338: bossa: Patch for the build failure

2017-09-30 Thread Andreas Moog
Control: tags 853338 + patch

Dear maintainer,

This particular build failure has an easy fix available in Upstream's git
repository,
https://github.com/shumatech/BOSSA/commit/3ace00ee9a5a1372c321f4b97b941eb7c040ef80

I've prepared a minimal NMU and will be looking for a sponsor.

You might want to consider updating to a more recent release though, version
1.8 has been released in May this year.

Kind regards,
   Andreas

Bug#876870: apertium-en-es: Patch for the FTBFS

2017-09-29 Thread Andreas Moog
Control: tags 876870 + patch

Dear maintainer,

a patch for this failure is available in upstream's svn repository:
https://sourceforge.net/p/apertium/svn/64863/tree//trunk/apertium-en-es/Makefile.am?diff=51af421534309d755140f9cf:64862

I've attached a proposed NMU to fix this build failure, but you might want to
update to a more recent SVN commit instead of just cherry-picking.

Hi Moaz,

your orig.tar.gz seems to contain the complete git history from upstream, which
doesn't seem to useful. I suggest redoing the orig without the .git
subdirectory.

Hello Markus,

I'm not a DD so can't sponsor your package, but here's a review:

- Please consider using a dep5-style copyright file
  (https://www.debian.org/doc/packaging-manuals/copyright-format/1.0/)
- Please check if your package complies to the current version of the Debian
  Policy, which is version 4.1.0
  (https://www.debian.org/doc/packaging-manuals/upgrading-checklist.txt)
- There's an empty debian/robocut.menu file, it should be removed

Cheers,
  Andreas

Hi Aaron,

I have a patch that uses O_NONBLOCK instead, falling back to O_NDELAY when the
first isn't available. That and the fix for #873895 allows building on hurd.
I'll do some last polishing and will then upload a fix.

Thanks again for reporting the bug.

1. The package you created is a native package. This generally is only useful
for software that are specifically targeted for Debian. In this case non-native
would be the better choice. (See [1] for an explanation of native/non-native)

2. The files README and README.source still contain default text, either remove
the files or fill them with useful information.

3. debian/fancon-docs.docs: This file is named wrong. Either name it just
"docs" or "fancon.docs". The part before the ".docs" is the package name it
applies to and you don't build a package named fancon-docs. (See "man
dh_installdocs"). Also, the contents are wrong, the man-page has more
information about that as well.

4. debian/manpage.1: That doesn't look useful at all.

5. debian/copyright: the files under the cmake-directory have different
copyright information, you need to record that as well.

6. debian/rules: Are all the overrides really needed? Then you should document
why they are there and delete the non-used comments.

7. debian/control:
   a) Carefully look at the Build-Depends again, some of the packages you
specified are already in build-essential so no need to specify them
  again.
   b) The current Standards version is 4.0.0
   c) Consider running "wrap-and-sort" from devscripts to make the
  Depends/Build-Depends more readable

8. The package doesn't build:
In file included from /<>/src/Controller.hpp:4:0,
 from /<>/src/main.hpp:4,
 from /<>/src/main.cpp:1:
/<>/src/Devices.hpp:18:15: error: 'fancon::FanNV' has not been
declared using fancon::FanNV;
/<>/src/Devices.hpp:21:15: error: 'fancon::SensorNV' has not been
declared using fancon::SensorNV;

(Full buildlog at https://warperbbs.de/buildlogs/fancon.build)

Cheers,
  Andreas

Your watch-file seems to be not working:

$ uscan --report
uscan warn: unrecognised option \\
uscan warn: Filename pattern missing version delimiters () without
filenamemangle in debian/watch, skipping:
uversionmangle=s/(\d)[_\.\-\+]?(RC|rc|pre|dev|beta|alpha)[.]?(\d*)$/\$1~\$2\$3/
\\
uscan warn: In debian/watch no matching files for watch line
  https://github.com/shibukawa/configdir/tags .*/v?(\d\S*)\.tar\.gz

And since on that github-page there aren't any releases, a watchfile doesn't
seem to be needed and could just be removed?

The upstream build system unfortunately isn't very sophisticated, but it does
its job and running the tests is quick and useful.

Going through old bugs, I can't seem to reproduce this:

Python 2.7.13 (default, Jan 19 2017, 14:48:08)

>>> import textile
>>> text="""'1"2"3'123'1"2"3'"""
>>> textile.textile(text)
u'\t\'1"2"3\'123123'
>>>

I tried also with the version in old-old-stable (1:2.1.4-1) and couldn't
reproduce there as well. Can you confirm that this has been fixed or can you
provide a testcase showing the problem?

Thanks.

Hi Jurriaan,

I realize it has been a while since you reported this bug and I am very sorry
that I did not react sooner. I have tried to reproduce this behaviour, but was
unsuccessful. Did you encounter this again with a more recent version of
nzbget? (Either 17.1 in unstable/testing or 18.1 in experimental).

Otherwise I would just close this as non-reproducible since there have been
quite some changes to nzbget in the meantime. Thanks.

This seems to be the case when you run update-command-not-found without any
Contents-file downloaded. If you run "apt update" after installation it
works without problems.

I think update-command-not-found should make it clearer that you need to
update the apt-cache prior to running it.

Bug#818393: cpm: Fix for build failure

2016-12-06 Thread Andreas Moog

Hi, Kacper,

I've prepared an NMU for cpm (versioned as 0.32-1.2) and will be looking
for a sponsor (I'm a DM, can't upload myself). Please feel free to tell me
if I should delay the upload.

The fix for this FTBFS is rather easy: Since libcdk5 version (5.0.20160131-1)
has put the file cdk.h back in its original place, the patch included in
the previous NMU causes this build error. My patch simply removes that patch.

Regards.

the homepage for gpointingdevicesettings seems to have been moved to

Hi,

vimhelp-de should be removed from Debian, it doesn't support the current version
of vim, the upstream developer hasn't been active since November 2010 and the
package has an open RC bug without any comments.

The package doesn't have any reverse-depends. Though it has a relatively high
popcon-score (120), I doubt it is very useful at the moment, since it also is
missing a lot of translations (e.g. chapters 21 to 32).

Thanks for your consideration!

The file was created years ago with an older version of xfig and not
manipulated.

fig2dev with target PDF works on it without a problem.

I also attached a backtrace of the crash. Please let me know if you need any

Thanks for the pointer. This is unfortunately too late for Jessie, but I will
be getting it included in jessie+1 and backports once the release is done.

 Hi,

 FYI, site and IP masked

Thanks for that. I could reproduce the issue by running nzbget in daemon mode.
The cause for the issue needs more investigating, sadly upstream's response to
this has in the past been: Use openssl.

For now, you can run nzbget in server mode (-s instead of -D) and everything
should work as expected.

I'll try to get info from gnutls developers on how I could debug this.

Thanks for your help in the matter!

Bug#767169: nzbget and TLS/SSL

2014-10-29 Thread Andreas Moog

On Wed, Oct 29, 2014 at 02:20:51PM +0100, Frollic Nilsson wrote:

Hi there,

thanks for your report, I tried to replicate, but on my system I can download
nzb files and their contents just fine over TLS.

To determine where the problem lies, please attach the output of:

gnutls-cli -V --no-ca-verification HOSTNAME YOU ARE CONNECTING TO

(Use the -p option if you connect to a port other than 443)

Also please answer these questions:

1. Are you getting the error while adding the nzb or while downloading
   the content?

2. Can you post the relevant parts of your nzbget configuration file?
Remember to remove your password first.

That will help to debug the issue!

This is the ldd for the original nzbget 13 coming from the repository:

 root@debian:~/nzbget-13.0# ldd /usr/bin/nzbget
 libgnutls-deb0.so.28 =
 /usr/lib/arm-linux-gnueabi/libgnutls-deb0.so.28 (0xb6bc3000)

As you can see, gnutls is linked into nzbget.

 *libssl.so.1.0.0 = /usr/lib/arm-linux-gnueabi/libssl.so.1.0.0
 *libcrypto.so.1.0.0 =
 /usr/lib/arm-linux-gnueabi/libcrypto.so.1.0.0 (0xb6b4)

Mine have a libssl and libcrypto dependency, and the DLds work, no TSL
 errro message.

Both these libraries come from openssl, which indeed isn't activated for the
Debian build, but usually gnutls works just fine.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Best wishes,
  Andreas

Unfortunately, that package doesn't build for me:

It seems to be missing a build-depends on (at least) the autoconf package.

in about a week. Feel free to tell me if you want to upload a fix
yourself.

Bug#761180: Please update to 2.1.2

2014-09-11 Thread Andreas Moog
Source: raphael
Version: 2.1.0-1
Severity: wishlist

Hello there, Paolo,

I think the Version 2.1.2 of Raphael would be a worthy addition for the
Jessie release. If you agree, could you package it? It seems like a
straightforward upgrade and considering that it doesn't change functionality
(only bugfixes), the risk of regressions is pretty minimal.

Thank you for your time!

Cheers,
  Andreas

Oh, oops. I forgot to test in a clean environment and in my working
environment I had custom packages for raphael and jquery installed.
I loosened the dependencies so that the package is installable and
made sure to test functionality with the older versions.

Sorry for not being more thorough.

I pushed updated package to git, could you check and upload it, please?

Bug#760166: ITP: libjs-elycharts -- javascript library to generate static and interactive charts

2014-09-01 Thread Andreas Moog
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Andreas Moog andreas.m...@warperbbs.de

* Package name: libjs-elycharts
  Version : 2.1.5
Upstream Author : Eric Goth eric.goth AT gmail.com
Stefano Bagnara stefano.bagnara ATgmail.com
Void Labs s.n.c.
* URL : http://elycharts.com
* License : MIT
  Programming Lang: Javascript
Description : javascript library to generate static and interactive charts

This javascript library is used to generate static and interactive charts. It
supports dynamic data modification, allows for mouse tracking and highlighting
of specific parts in the chart. It also includes a variety of animations and
transformations to show the chart evolution.

Notes:

The long description could use improvement (I'm not good with words), I will ask
debian-l10n-english for help with it.

One of the packages I maintain (nzbget) introduces a new dependency on elycharts
in its new version.

If it is possible, I'd like to maintain elycharts within the Debian-Javascript
packaging team.

couldn't dedicate much time for Debian. Please feel free to cut the
delay and upload sooner. I will try to work on nzbget and get the new
13.0 version included in Debian in 2-3 weeks.

Thanks again!

Cheers,
  Andreas

Bug#738735: linop: FTBFS: dh_sphinxdoc: Sphinx documentation not found

2014-03-09 Thread Andreas Moog
On Sun, Mar 09, 2014 at 01:39:00PM +, Ghislain Vaillant wrote:
Could you provide the detailed steps to reproduce this bug. I have
only tested the build locally on my machine via pbuilder prior to
submitting the package and it went fine.

If you look at https://buildd.debian.org/status/package.php?p=linop you will
see that your package fails on every Debian autobuilder. The reason that it
fails there, but not in your local pbuilder is that with pbuilder, you build
architecture-dependent packages as well as architecture-independent (arch:all)
ones but the autobuilders only build the arch-dependent parts.

You can reproduce this locally if you use (for example)

dpkg-buildpackage -B

or if you call pbuilder with the --binary-arch option.

Cheers,

 Andreas

As the error suggests, adding libswitch-perl to the Build-Depends fixing this
build failure.
