Bug#920737: dhcp-option is ignored for tagged range
Package: dnsmasq Version: 2.76-5+deb9u2 I have a setup with 3 interfaces, each being connected to vlan and different IP range, router, dns-server and other options (lan,voip, wireless guests). When a guest computer is connecting, he get at first an IP from lan range 192.168.10.x (interface lan) with some default option (dns-servers, classless-static-route) and then from guests range 192.168.210.x (interface eth2). Problem is that dhcp-options from this new range are ignored, only option 53,54 and 56 are sended (options we didn't set). When lease time is reached, the renewal make thinks working normally (eg all options from guests network are sended), now everything is right. I suspect the bad address being faulty (see log) as this computer should connect on both networks and has a dhcp-host entry on the lan interface dhcp-host=lan,90:48:9a:db:4b:51,00:13:3b:00:09:22,192.168.10.5,IMissLinux,96h,set:ordi Regards Daniel Jan 28 16:13:56 dnsmasq-dhcp[12700]: 3560620922 la gamme DHCP disponible est : 192.168.10.195 -- 192.168.10.199 Jan 28 16:13:56 dnsmasq-dhcp[12700]: 3560620922 la gamme DHCP disponible est : 192.168.10.50 -- 192.168.10.99 Jan 28 16:13:56 dnsmasq-dhcp[12700]: 3560620922 Classe de vendeur ('Vendor Class') : MSFT 5.0 Jan 28 16:13:56 dnsmasq-dhcp[12700]: le client 3560620922 fourni le nom : IMissLinux Jan 28 16:13:56 dnsmasq-dhcp[12700]: 3560620922 DHCPREQUEST(lan) 192.168.10.5 90:48:9a:db:4b:51 Jan 28 16:13:56 dnsmasq-dhcp[12700]: 3560620922 options: computer, ordi, known, lan Jan 28 16:13:56 dnsmasq-dhcp[12700]: 3560620922 DHCPACK(lan) 192.168.10.5 90:48:9a:db:4b:51 IMissLinux Jan 28 16:13:56 dnsmasq-dhcp[12700]: 3560620922 options demandées : 1:netmask, 15:domain-name, 3:router, 6:dns-server, Jan 28 16:13:56 dnsmasq-dhcp[12700]: 3560620922 options demandées : 44:netbios-ns, 46:netbios-nodetype, 47:netbios-scope, Jan 28 16:13:56 dnsmasq-dhcp[12700]: 3560620922 options demandées : 31:router-discovery, 33:static-route, 121:classless-static-route, Jan 28 16:13:56 dnsmasq-dhcp[12700]: 3560620922 options demandées : 249, 252, 43:vendor-encap Jan 28 16:13:56 dnsmasq-dhcp[12700]: 3560620922 nom de fichier 'bootfile' : pxelinux.0 Jan 28 16:13:56 dnsmasq-dhcp[12700]: 3560620922 serveur suivant : 192.168.10.254 Jan 28 16:13:56 dnsmasq-dhcp[12700]: 3560620922 sent size: 1 option: 53 message-type 5 Jan 28 16:13:56 dnsmasq-dhcp[12700]: 3560620922 sent size: 4 option: 54 server-identifier 192.168.10.254 Jan 28 16:13:56 dnsmasq-dhcp[12700]: 3560620922 sent size: 4 option: 51 lease-time 4d Jan 28 16:13:56 dnsmasq-dhcp[12700]: 3560620922 sent size: 4 option: 58 T1 2d Jan 28 16:13:56 dnsmasq-dhcp[12700]: 3560620922 sent size: 4 option: 59 T2 3d12h Jan 28 16:13:56 dnsmasq-dhcp[12700]: 3560620922 sent size: 4 option: 1 netmask 255.255.255.0 Jan 28 16:13:56 dnsmasq-dhcp[12700]: 3560620922 sent size: 4 option: 28 broadcast 192.168.10.255 Jan 28 16:13:56 dnsmasq-dhcp[12700]: 3560620922 sent size: 13 option: 81 FQDN 03:ff:ff:49:4d:69:73:73:4c:69:6e:75:78 Jan 28 16:13:56 dnsmasq-dhcp[12700]: 3560620922 sent size: 32 option:121 classless-static-route 18:0a:00:46:c0:a8:0a:fe:18:0a:01:3a:c0:a8... Bug#879518: ifupdown: fail to start with bridge_stp on and recursion detected in parent-lock with vlan after jessie upgrade
Hi Guus Le 22/10/2017 à 20:49, Guus Sliepen a écrit : severity 879518 normal thanks On Sun, Oct 22, 2017 at 04:35:58PM +0200, Daniel wrote: Severity: critical Justification: breaks the whole system Downgrading to normal since this bug doesn't fit the definition of critical: “Makes unrelated software on the system (or the whole system) break, or causes serious data loss, or introduces a security hole on systems where you install the package.” Well, for us the whole system was broken as every services running on our network (firewall, routing, IPBX, mail, web server aso) are in VMs on this machine which means all unusable until we found a solution. This setup was perfectly running on Jessie. After upgrading to Stretch, all the network stuff was down, doesn't matter if local, VMs or Internet. In the interfaces file below we changed the bridge-stp to off to get rid from the "set forward delay failed: Numerical result out of range" error. After this, interface bone was going up as well as eth0 but then we had the parent-lock error. We commented the pre-up bone[.1|.2] on each interface who call them and the system started with all interfaces up. I see. Locking interfaces indeed prevents a VLAN interface from calling ifup on its parent interface. It's actually with good reason; while it may have worked on your bridge interface, it's not guaranteed to work correctly, and it will break in situations where interface are created on demand (like with tun/tap interfaces). That said, it's of course necessary for the parent interface to be up before you can bring up a VLAN interface. So I'll probably change ifupdown to do that for you. That way, you won't need pre-up ifup statements anymore. Would be great. What would be nice is to show a warning during the upgrade stage so we could adapt interfaces file before restarting the new kernel. -- Daniel
Bug#879518: ifupdown: fail to start with bridge_stp on and recursion detected in parent-lock with vlan after jessie upgrade
I investigate further and discover that the the message "recursion detected in parent-lock" appears in *ALL* vlan interfaces (.1 .2 .100 .1001 .1002), not only the 2 first one as I reported. After having removed all pre-up bone and pre-up bone.vlan in interfaces file, I was able to again set bridge_stp on without getting the "set forward delay failed: Numerical result out of range" message. This means that bridge_stp on error is a result from the pre-up bone and bone.vlan behavior. Regards -- Daniel

Le 07/05/2012 11:02, Cyril Brulebois a écrit : Hi, Bob Freemer (09/08/2010): Many touchpads (esp. Gateway and Dell) have dedicated vertical scroll regions just to the right of the main touchpad area. The recent updates to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics has broken this. Further, I have attempted many different custom configurations of the driver to recreate the vertical scroll features. The touchpad and all vertical scrolling worked perfectly before the vertical scroll option was yanked upstream. The bug is even more serious in that not only is the vertical scrollbar non-functional, but the mouse jumps across the screen when reaching the right edge of the main touchpad area. So how can the core.img differe from one disk to the other? Consider following scenario: You install GRUB to both sda and sdb. Then you do a sudo aptitude upgrade or equivalent. It finds a new GRUB version and installs it, updating core.img on sda and modules. So core.img from sda and modules are in sync. But the core.img on sdb isn't updated and so it gets out of sync with modules. This is OK: what I don't understand is that you told me to run dpkg-reconfigure grub-pc to avoid this and that I did it (and more than one) and it change nothing. Ben Hutchings a écrit : wpa_supplicant simply reacts to events the kernel driver gives it. wpa_supplicant doesn't look suspicious here at all given this information. What about wpa_gui? It's only a frontend to keep easy the managing of wlans. I can close wpa_gui (it's generally running in systray) the problem happends too. See http://lists.debian.org/debian-kernel/2009/03/msg00123.html and Bug #12880 on bugzilla.kernel.org That's a different bug, reported as <http://bugs.debian.org/518358>, which you said was fixed in version 2.6.29-2. Was fixed, but appears again in 2.6.30. Reopening the old one would have the same effect or would be merged to the new one. I'm talking about the bug reported as <http://bugs.debian.org/542917>. How are you invoking wpa_supplicant? Started from /etc/netwok/interfaces and/or wpa_gui Do you use a front-end such as network-manager or wicd? No I've looked at where the message "wlan0: deauthenticating by local choice (reason=3)" is generated, and it appears to mean that something is setting the interface down. I have been using the same WLAN device and the same kernel version as you with no such problems. So I think this is an issue with wpa_supplicant or wpa_gui, or the way you have configured them. I will reassign the bug accordingly. Not sure that's the best to do: remember that rmmod/modprobe iwl3945 (one or few times in the raw) bring generally everything back to normal till next failure. -- Daniel -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Kevin Locke a écrit : I am noticing the same behavior on my system (using iwl3945 on a Thinkpad T60p with the Intel 3945ABG card). That includes the "0 packets captured" on the interface during DHCP request. However, I noticed that if I run `ifconfig wlan0 up` before running `ifup wlan0` it seems to resolve the problem and the computer receives a DHCP response from my DHCP server with no problems. It may be related to the fact that settings applied with iwconfig do not appear to stick unless the interface is up. I would be interested to hear if this makes a difference on any other systems... Have a look at http://wiki.debian.org/iwlwifi, it has some instructions on how to switch from using ipw3945 to iwl3945. Bug#395383: kdeprint: Documents are mot printed
Modestas Vainius a écrit : Hello, 2006 m. spalis 27 d., penktadienis 12:05, Daniel Huhardeaux rašė: - open a text file with konqueror and print it with kdeprint: it's ok - open a pdf file and print it with kdeprint: it's ok - open an OpenOffice odt file and print it: it's ok - open an OpenOffice *odg* file and print it: _printing failed_ The above investigation suggests that this bug is not kde specific. It should be reassinged to cupsys (maybe you're using wrong driver for the printer. I had a similar problem on sarge (gs using 100% cpu), when I used pcl6 but my printer supported only pcl5), gs or openoffice.org It's not a question of wrong driver (foo2zjs): I have this printer since 1 year and I always was able to print till this upgrade. Another laptop under Ubuntu Dapper is using the printer with the same driver and it works fine. I think that the problem could be more related to gs but I still have no idea on how to track it. In Kjobview, when I destroy the current print out, it's removed from the list but still have gs PID and his companions running. I have to kill manualy. I am on the point that even with a fresh start of the computer printing failed. -- Daniel
Bug#395383: kdeprint: Documents are mot printed
I went a step further. I restart the computer and: - open a text file with konqueror and print it with kdeprint: it's ok - open a pdf file and print it with kdeprint: it's ok - open an OpenOffice odt file and print it: it's ok - open an OpenOffice *odg* file and print it: _printing failed_ From this point, I can't now print anymore, even by killing all tasks concerning the last launched print task which are still running. Another strange thing is that printing a pdf file with kdeprint shows me the name from txt file I printed before! Kjobviewer (with faulty name) as well as cups displays the task as being currently printed, nothing is going on. When I cancel the job (doesn't matter Kjobview or Cups), he's removed from the list but I still have pids running -see attached file sended with bug opening- and 'gs' taking lots of CPU I guess that kdeprint is not faulty (partly only?) and could be more a gs problem. If you have some testing I could start to point out what exactly happend, please let me know. Regards -- Daniel -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Package: kdeprint Version: 4:3.5.5a-2 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable After having faced bug #392052 I still can't print from KDE with cups. In fact, 'top' is showing that gs is taking lots of CPU% ~50% Attached you will found a 'ps ax' output as well as the 'top' output for gs. The printing tasks stays and never finish if I don't kill them. I don't know if it's a KDE Print System related problem or a gs one. Adrian, thanks for the patch.
