Bug#548773: seems more problematic than what is shown

2009-10-27 Thread Didrik Pinte
Hi guys,

This bug seems more problematic than what is shown here.

I have two computers running Debian/Sid with libneon27-gnutls. One is a
64bit and the other is a 32bit. Both of them run version 0.29.0-1 of
libneon27-gnutls.

With the 32bit, here is the message I receive when committing :

d...@ddp:~/source/hydroplatform/src/python/trunk$ svn commit
svn: Commit failed (details follow):
svn: OPTIONS of
'https://secure2.svnrepository.com/s_dpinte/hydroplatform/src/python/trunk/hydroplatform/extension/export':
Certificate verification error: signed using insecure algorithm
(https://secure2.svnrepository.com)

On the 64bit computer, committing does not have any problems ...

I can provide more information if needed. This bug is really critical
for me as I can't commit anymore from the 32bit machine.

Thanks for any help.

Bug#526823: using single-request

2009-05-07 Thread Didrik Pinte
Hi guys,

I've been encountering big stability problems with my computer since the
update to the latest glibc. My router is a Linksys WRT54GL running
dd-wrt v23.

I have tried to set the single-request option but as you probably knows,
NetworkManager rewrites the file at each connection and thus deletes the
single-request line every time ...

Bug#526823: (no subject)

2009-05-07 Thread Didrik Pinte
Hi Aurelien,

I have just followed what comes in sid ;-)

Thus, with the annoucement of the glibc (2.9-8) unstable; urgency=low
on 28th of April, I started to have a very slow network and huge latency
problems with my computer.

Activating ipv6 support on the router helped a bit but did not really
solve the problem. It seems that latest glibc update glibc (2.9-10)
unstable; urgency=low has improved things and now it seems that
browsing the web is again feasible ;-)

I have also tested using opendns in my resolv.conf (with the same
problem that NetworkManager will overwrite the file on the next dhcp
update).

Finally, I have to admit that I do not know what really improved the
things. I will now reset the configuration to my router dns and let it
work alone with latest glibc version to see if latency problems are
still there. If it is the case, I will the skip-request option and let
you know in any case.

Hi Julien,

Unluckily, I do not have the same configuration today and cannot upload

The X server was configured without any tweaking. It uses a radeonhd

Bug#524850: cups: duplex printing stopped working

2009-04-20 Thread Didrik Pinte
Package: cups
Version: 1.3.10-1

Hi guys,

changing the ip of my printer, I had to reinstall it. It is a HP OfficeJet Pro

from cups and install a new printer from the HPIJS toolbox.

Since the reinstall, I cannot print in duplex anymore. When duplex printing is
activated, I got this error in cups error.log :

Hi,

I do not know if it is the right place to report this problem but ...

Thus, since last glibc update (glibc (2.9-2) unstable; urgency=low), Thuban
seems to have problem using extension linked to proj.

See the stacktrace here below :

Bug#487112: tinyerp-server: module upgrade/installation does not work

2008-06-19 Thread Didrik Pinte
Package: tinyerp-server
Version: 4.2.2-1
Severity: normal

Hi,

When trying to update or install modules in tinyerp, there is an error.

The fix is pretty simple. The tinyerp-server service is launched by the terp
user but the /usr/share/tinyerp-server/addons belongs to root. Changing the
ownership of the addons directory to terp solved the problem.

Bug#485505: dependencies problem

2008-06-13 Thread Didrik Pinte
Hi,

I was trying to make another installation of tinyerp-server using
postgresql 8.2 that is still available in lenny but the dependencies of
the package does not allow me to do it.

This how I have proceeded :

1) aptitude install postgresql-8.2
2) aptitude install tinyerp-server
-- it suggest to install postgresql package and postgresql-8.3

This is not blocking because we can have both postgresql-8.2 and -8.3
together on the same server but it sounds a bit annoying that
tinyerp-server forces to install a version that is not supported.

Bug#485505: tinyerp-server: cannot run wit postgresql 8.3

2008-06-09 Thread Didrik Pinte
Package: tinyerp-server
Version: 4.2.2-1
Severity: important

Hi,

Sorry to report a known problem but I think it's important.

Using postgresql 8.3, you get the following erro while installing a new
database :

ProgrammingError: ERROR: function pg_catalog.substring(date, integer, integer)
does not exist
LINE 4: DISTINCT(SUBSTRING(l.date for 7))||'-'||...
 ^
HINT: No function matches the given name and argument types. You might need to
add explicit type casts.

CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW report_account_analytic_line_to_invoice AS (

WHERE
(invoice_id IS NULL) and (to_invoice IS NOT NULL)
GROUP BY
SUBSTRING(date for 7), product_id, product_uom_id,
account_id
)

This is related to some missing explicit casting.

The problem is described and solved here :
http://archives.postgresql.org/pgsql-bugs/2008-01/msg1.php . It is solved
upstream, see :
http://tinyforge.org/tracker/?group_id=13atid=129func=detailaid=610 .

I don't know if it's possible to patch this version too.

Hi,

I will post the Apache2 error log after the bug is created.

It seems there is the problem :

Hi,

I don't know if it's the right place to report it but ...

When waking up from suspend to disk, the iwl3945 module is broken. Here is the
output of dmesg :

iwl3945: Microcode SW error detected. Restarting 0x8208.
iwl3945: Error Reply type 0x cmd REPLY_SCAN_CMD (0x80) seq 0x4421 ser

Removing the module and modprobing it solves the problem, but sometimes, it's
even not possible to 'rmmod' it.

Is there any more test I can do to provide more information for
debugging/solving the problem ?

Bug#458562: firmware-iwlwifi: iwlwifi should conflict with ipw3945d

2008-01-01 Thread Didrik Pinte
Package: firmware-iwlwifi
Severity: normal

Hi,

Running an ipw3945 card in my laptop, I had problems since sometime to make it
work. The old ipw3945 module did not work anymore, so I tried to use the new
iwlwifi driver coming with 2.6.23 and the firmware-iwlwifi.

Because this does not conflict with ipw3945d, the ipw3945 service was always
started on boot time and it was not possible to have the new iwl3945 module
running.

I guess that making the package conflict could be an elegant solution.

I can provide more info it needed.

Bug#448993: solved

2007-11-05 Thread Didrik Pinte
Hi,

I made some investigation. The problem is that the personnal
configuration file stored in ~/.terprc contains the following :

[path]
pixmaps = /usr/lib/tinyerp-client
share = /usr/lib/tinyerp-client

Thus, because of the update, pixmaps are not at the same place.

Simply deleting the pixmaps entry in the ~/.terprc file solved the
problem.

I think that the update should have addressed the problem by a message
or something like that. I don't know if a script can be run and update
all the user accounts ...

Bug#448993: second error

2007-11-05 Thread Didrik Pinte
Hi,

The problem in the ~/.terprc file was not alone.

The new default path is not the correct one :

In /usr/lib/tinyerp-client/options.py :

'path.pixmaps': os.path.join(sys.prefix,
'share/pixmaps/tinyerp-client/'),

but the file are in /usr/share/pixmaps ...

Either we should correct the path (simple workaround) or move the files
to the correct directory.

Bug#434897: v.db.update with 6.2.2 patch

Hi Markus,

The patch does not work :

Just removing the -q in the v.info line solved the problem and make it

Bug#434897: grass: v.db.update with 6.2.2

2007-07-27 Thread Didrik Pinte
Package: grass
Version: 6.2.2-1
Severity: normal

Hi,

I'm not sure if it has to be forwarded upstream or not but I have the following
issue since 6.2.2 update :

this line does not work anymore :
v.db.update map=base_cells column=pprivate value=area_new * b_pump_priva /
b_area_tot

giving the following error :

---
DBMI-Postgres driver error:
Cannot execute:
UPDATE base_cells SET pprivate='area_new * b_pump_priva / b_area_tot'

ERROR: invalid input syntax for type double precision: area_new *
b_pump_priva / b_area_tot

ERROR: Error while executing: UPDATE base_cells SET pprivate='area_new *
   b_pump_priva / b_area_tot'

---

but if I do this :

echo 'update base_cells set pprivate=b_pump_priva*area_new/b_area_tot' |
db.execute

it runs fine ...

The script was running correctly with the previous 6.2.1 version.

What can I do ?

I'm running a dual head configuration and here is the output of

Resolution seems a bit weird ... I'm investigating.

Bug#431709: bug confirmed

2007-07-04 Thread Didrik Pinte
Hi,

I can confirm the Floating point exception encountered is due to the
same problem as this one :
http://people.debian.org/~terpstra/message/20060907.144957.7f0765d0.en.html

When starting my laptop without dual head, everything works fine. When I
connect the second screen, restart X and change the resolution from
1400x1050 to 1280x1024, the exception is there again.

Before the change :

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ xdpyinfo | grep -A1 dimen
  dimensions:1400x1050 pixels (370x278 millimeters)
  resolution:96x96 dots per inch

After the change :

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ crossvc

  dimensions:1280x1024 pixels (0x0 millimeters)
  resolution:-2147483648x-2147483648 dots per inch

Who is the culprit ? All the other application except qt related seems
to work fine.

! qt4 version seem also affected by the bug. The latest beta version of
skype is linked with libqt4 and has the very same problem.

Hi,

I've found a workaround for the problem.

Everything is linked to the fact I was using a dual-head configuration.
While my second monitor is on, I have to change the resolution from
1400*1050 to 1280*1024. This seem to cause problem to lots of
application like grass.

The change causes the resolution not being read correctly :

Before the change :

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ xdpyinfo | grep -A1 dimen
  dimensions:1400x1050 pixels (370x278 millimeters)
  resolution:96x96 dots per inch

After the change :

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ xdpyinfo | grep -A1 dimen
  dimensions:1280x1024 pixels (0x0 millimeters)
  resolution:-2147483648x-2147483648 dots per inch

-- this dirty value is the culprit ;-)

The workaround is to set the DisplaySize value in the Monitor section
of /etc/X11/xorg.conf.

It now runs fine.

I don't know if it's Debian-specific. I've just parsed the Grass bts
finding no other related information about the problem. I've uploaded a

Could it be related to the version of tcl ? I can provide more

Bug#420706: more info

2007-04-24 Thread Didrik Pinte
I meant upgrading to 1.4.1 concerning the version, not 1.4.0 ;-)

I had a quick look at what can be the problem. It seems that other
people add the same one but it was using not updated svn version.

http://lists.maptools.org/pipermail/gdal-dev/2007-January/011495.html

I suppose that the build is based on the official 1.4.1 version. Could
it be related to this (seems the first official archive was not
correct):

Bug#417694: liblpsolve55-dev should call ldconfig

I've found a much more easy way to do it.

Adding a runtime_library_path to the setup.py solved the dynamic linking
problem for the python-lpsolve package.

Do you think some DD would be interested to take over the ownership of
this python-lpsolve package in order to integrate it in the Debian. It's
a simple package and I guess the state of it is not so bad ;-).

Bug#417694: liblpsolve55-dev should call ldconfig

2007-04-04 Thread Didrik Pinte
Package: liblpsolve55-dev
Version: 5.5.0.10-2

Hi,

Two arguments for using ldconfig in the liblpsolve55-dev package :

[1] I'm actually using a Matlab MEX file under Debian that is linked to the
liblpsolve55.so. It should be great if the liblpsolve55-dev package updates the
ldconfig so that I can use it without adding by hand LD_LIBRARY_PATH all the
time.

[2] I've built a Debian package for the Python interface of lp-solve. It runs
fine but i'm forced to update LD_LIBRARY_PATH by hand too to make it running

Thanks

Maybe. I've choosen /usr/include/lpsolve because that's the easy way to
make the #include lpsolve/... stuff from OOo keep working without too
 much patching...

 Regards,

 Rene

That's not a problem for me. I vote for lpsolve directory everywhere.
Do you want me to propose a patch to relocate the shared library from
/usr/lib/lp_solve to /usr/lib/lpsolve ?

If i'm not wrong the shared library is there since version 5.5.0.10 that
means only in experimental. So the change should not impact on users
(except my python package ;-)).

Bug#385981: just adding more info

2007-02-12 Thread Didrik Pinte
Reading the previous mails, the problem is not very clear.

In fact, using a locale with a point as decimal separator in place of
locales using command as decimal separator solves all the previous
problems !

GDAL does not support locales like fr_BE, etc. So this bug should be
forwarded upstream.

Bug#407286: evolution segfaults sometimes when deleting or selecting mails on imap account

2007-01-17 Thread Didrik Pinte
Package: evolution
Version: 2.6.3-3
Severity: normal

Evolution seems not very happy when i'm navigating in my mail list. Crashes
only happens when i'm on my imap folders (i have to admit I only have one
folder not on my imap server). It crashes when selecting or deleting emails.

I'm pretty sure it's not a evolution bug but I don't know where to report it
(libatk, at-spi, gal)...

I've installed evolution-dbg in order to start some debugging sessions. I will
send debugging logs in attachement.

I guess the problem seems related to this :
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/at-spi/+bug/69453

or some libatk or gal ...

I hope that the debugging output will explain enough details about the problem.

I'm available if you need some more information on the problem.

Bug#406488: sqlfairy: sqlt-graph script unusable

2007-01-11 Thread Didrik Pinte
Package: sqlfairy
Version: 0.07-4
Severity: normal

At the moment the /usr/bin/sqlt-graph command is not usable :

The error is basically a typo error in the Perl file:

+'show-constraints' = \$show_constraints,

I've attached a patch correcting the three faulty lines.

Bug#402012: new 2.0.1 version

2006-12-19 Thread Didrik Pinte
In order to correct the segfaults on 64 bits systems, the author have
provided a new official version integrating some important patches.

It has been tagged in the cvs release2_0_1. See :

I've updated the package to this version and tested it on i386 and amd64
successfully.

Bug#402936: cvstrac 1.1.5 sefault on amd64 systems

2006-12-13 Thread Didrik Pinte
Package: cvstrac
Version: 2.0.0-2
Severity: normal

Coding of some va_args functions used in the cvstrac code uses a 0 as sentinel
in place of using NULL. This causes serious problems on amd64 system. It is not
possible to edit a ticket and so on.

This renders cvstrac 1.1.5 usage on amd64 systems impossible.

The problem has been corrected upstream.

The version 2.0.0 is available upstream. Actually the 1.1.5 version is a bit
old and not really supported since version 1.2 is the stable version.

Is there some plans to update the package ?

Bug#385981: more information

2006-09-10 Thread Didrik Pinte
The problem seems to be deeper than that.

In fact, it's an interaction problem between matplotlib-numpy and
numeric.

python-gdal is python-numeric dependant. Matplotlib can use either
python-numeric or python-numpy. When matplotlib is configured to use
python-numpy and your script uses gdal and matplotlib, every call to
methods from python-gdal fail or sends bad results.

I can provide an example if needed. I've posted a message on the numpy
mailing-list but without answer at the moment.

I will keep you in touch.

Bug#385460: solution

2006-09-04 Thread Didrik Pinte
Hi Bernhard,

The solution is to install the python-gdal module with the following
command :

pycentral pkginstall python-gdal

(this will make the package available for all supported runtimes.)

It seems that pycentral does not update all the installed modules when
changing the python default installation.

Package: python-gdal

Bug#364043: xserver-xorg: apm resume does not work since update to xorg 7

2006-04-21 Thread Didrik Pinte
Package: xserver-xorg
Version: 1:7.0.14
Severity: normal

Hi,

since the upgrade to xorg 7, the resume functionnality seems to be
broken.

I'm using apm and it was working pretty fine with the xorg 6.x versions.

I suppose this is due to xorg7 because my apt-listchanges does not seem
to list other related modification (kernel, etc.).

I'm running a Thinkpad R50 with a ATI Technologies Inc Radeon R250 Lf
[FireGL 9000] (rev 02) video card.

Here is the xorg.conf part related to the card :

Section Device
  Identifier radeon9000
  Driverradeon
  BusID PCI:1:0:0# vendor=1002, device=4c66
  VendorName Videocard vendor
  BoardName ATI Radeon Mobility M9
  Option DynamicClocks True
  Option AGPFastWrite True
  Option EnablePageFlipTrue
  Option RenderAccel On
EndSection

The loaded modules are the following :

Section Module
  Load GLcore
  Load bitmap
  Load dbe
  Load ddc
  Load dri
  Load extmod
  Load freetype
  Load glx
  Load int10
  Load record
  Load speedo
  Load type1
  Load vbe
EndSection

The /var/log/Xorg.0.log does not seem to log any problem or errors.
There is nothing in the syslog about the resuming problems.

When resuming, if I try a Fn+F3 that serve for disabling the screen, it
seems to work but the laptop stays freezed.

I can provide any log files, or do some tests if needed.

Many thanks for you work,

Bug#360117: gthumb modules inaccessible

2006-03-30 Thread Didrik Pinte
Package: gthumb
Version: 3:2.6.9-2
Severity: normal

Since the last update of gthumb, it's not possible anymore to access the
modules.

For example, when trying to rotate an image, here is the error :
** (gthumb:22693): WARNING **: Error, unable to open module file
'/usr/lib/gthumb/gthumb/modules/libjpegtran.so: Ne peut ouvrir le
fichier d'objet partag\xe9: A ucun fichier ou r\xe9pertoire de ce type'

It seems that the error is the path to the modules. It must be
/usr/lib/gthumb/modules/ and not /usr/lib/gthumb/gthumb/modules/

I'm having a look at the debian package to see where is the problem but
it's not already identified ;-)

Bug#353111: same problem

2006-03-07 Thread Didrik Pinte
Hi,

I've just updated to 2.6.15 and have the same problem. My Sun still
boot with the 2.6.12.

It does not found the /dev/sda2 where is my root partition. The
difference here just seems in the message sent by the udev before the
error :

eval: 1: array_udev-helper=: not found
Done.

Done.

ALERT! /dev/sda2 does not exist. Dropping to a shell

Hope this will help to debug the problem.

pida 0.3.1 requires python2.4 and python 2.4 bindings for vte are not
yet available. I've helped the vte maintainer to update the package,
which is currently in the new queue.

When that is in unstable i can upload pida 0.3.1.

I'll build the vte and pida packages locally and publish them on:

Great, when you're ready, just let me know and i'll test it with

I can confirm. It was a problem due to udev being installed on the
computer.

The /dev/sda1 was not existing.

Rebooting the computer fixed the problem.

Everything works fine now.

2006-02-10 Thread Didrik Pinte
Package: grub
Version: 0.97-4
Severity: serious
Justification: 2

Hi,

I've just updated an AMD64 server with dist-upgrade to the latest grub
version and kernel 2.6.15.

The upgrade jumped from before 0.97-1 version to 0.97-3 version.

When calling update-grub, I receive :
---
serveurmeteo:/boot# update-grub
Searching for GRUB installation directory ... found: /boot/grub
---

When the kernel package was update, the postinst script did not succeed
because of the update-grub not working.

The problem should be in the update-grub script after the look for the
grub installation directory but before the testing for the existance of
the menu.lst file ... Probably in the device detection ...

In case of, here is my fstab :
serveurmeteo:/boot# cat /etc/fstab
---
# /etc/fstab: static file system information.
#
# file system mount point type options dump pass
proc/proc procdefaults0 0

/dev/hda/media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 ro,user,noauto 0 0
/dev/fd0/media/floppy0 autorw,user,noauto 0 0

serveurmeteo:/boot#

The SATA drives are mounted in a RAID hardware system. So there won't be
interaction with RAID software as it seems to sometimes appear...

Any help is welcome.

and thuban needs libwxgtk2.4 (= 2.4.2.4) ...

and libwxgtk2.4-python does not exist in Sid. The dependencies should
probably be changed to :

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ apt-cache search wxgtk | grep python

Probably that the dependency should be on kdelibs.

It's the same for the libqt3c102-mt dependency. The new package is
libqt3-mt if i'm not wrong.

Last but not least, the sip4 dependency is not satisfied because of the
version of the package (4.3.1).

Here is the aptitude output while trying to install python2.3-kde3
(sorry it's in french)

Les paquets suivants ont des dépendances non satisfaites :
  python2.3-kde3: Dépend: kdelibs4 (= 4:3.3.2-4.0.2) mais il n'est pas
installable
  Dépend: libqt3c102-mt (= 3:3.3.3) mais il n'est pas
installable
  Dépend: python2.3-sip4-qt3 ( 4.3) mais 4.3.1-1 doit être
installé.

Hope this will help.

Bug#337899: eric: C++ ABI changes

2005-11-06 Thread Didrik Pinte
Package: eric
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

I'm trying to install eric on an up-to-date Sid system.

Is it possible to update Eric with libqt3c102-mt in place of libqt3-mt ?

Dependencies of other packages renders it uninstallable on my system (... it's
Skype in fact).

Bug#336761: same here

2005-11-01 Thread Didrik Pinte
The problem seems to be related to a recent upgrade of
evolution-data-server (1.2.3-6) in Sid.
