Bug#1014058: exim4-daemon-heavy: please compile with SPF and DMARC support
Package: exim4-daemon-heavy Version: 4.94.2-7 Severity: wishlist It should be useful if the binary package exim4-daemon-heavy could be compiled to include SPF and DMARC support internally. The current Debian config uses an external script for SPF checks on received mail, but I'd like to be able to use the internal capabilities in EXIM itself for SPF and DMARC checks. This requires to include SUPPORT_SPF=yes and SUPPORT_DMARC in the makefile, and of course it should probably be done only for the heavy version of the Exim daemon. Thanks Fabio Muzzi

I have exactly the same issue. Found it while trying to use Festival with Asterisk. If I use the italian voice I get the same error, and if I use the english voice it works flawlessly. Steps to reproduce: install festlex-ifd and its dependencies. run festival with italian language: festival --server -b --language italian Try to use the Festival function in Asterisk You will get no audio and festival will print an error that states "SIOD ERROR: wrong type of argument to get_c_utt" -- Fabio "Kurgan" Muzzi - IZ4UFQ - "Il massimo danno con il minimo sforzo"

This behaviour began some months ago (Maybe a kernel update, but I am not sure because I do not always disconnect and connect usb disks). The mainboard is an Intel Server board S1200BTSR. I cannot do many tests on this computer because it is a production server. If the ehci driver does not crash, of after having reloaded the module after a crash, the USB disk works flawlessly even under intense load (rsync of 2TB of data). I have tried swapping USB cable, I have tried using a different USB port, and also swapping USB drive (I have 4 of them, same model and maker) to no avail. Issue remains. I have googled a little and found that this behaviour is not new, it happened in 2.6 kernels too. I have found a bug report from RedHat that refers to issues after hibernation and resume, but this is not the case because this is a server and is never hibernated. -- Package-specific info: ** Version: Linux version 3.2.0-4-amd64 (debian-ker...@lists.debian.org) (gcc version 4.6.3 (Debian 4.6.3-14) ) #1 SMP Debian 3.2.60-1+deb7u3 ** Command line: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.2.0-4-amd64 root=UUID=0193ca94-cdc0-44bf-8205-2ff864d54170 ro quiet ** Tainted: O (4096) * Out-of-tree module has been loaded. ** Kernel log: [14522591.737146] hub 2-1:1.0: cannot reset port 2 (err = -19) [14522591.737289] hub 2-1:1.0: cannot disable port 2 (err = -19) [14522591.737433] hub 2-1:1.0: cannot reset port 2 (err = -19) [14522591.737576] hub 2-1:1.0: cannot disable port 2 (err = -19) [14522591.737716] hub 2-1:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 2 [14522591.737859] hub 2-1:1.0: cannot disable port 2 (err = -19) [14522591.738014] usb 2-1.4: USB disconnect, device number 4 [14522591.972629] usb 2-1: USB disconnect, device number 2 [14522739.554636] ehci_hcd :00:1d.0: remove, state 1 [14522739.554653] usb usb2: USB disconnect, device number 1 [14522739.558852] ehci_hcd :00:1d.0: USB bus 2 deregistered [14522739.558903] ehci_hcd :00:1a.0: remove, state 1 [14522739.558918] usb usb1: USB disconnect, device number 1 [14522739.558920] usb 1-1: USB disconnect, device number 2 [14522739.558923] usb 1-1.1: USB disconnect, device number 3 [14522739.724813] ehci_hcd :00:1a.0: USB bus 1 deregistered [14522745.683355] ehci_hcd: USB 2.0 'Enhanced' Host Controller (EHCI) Driver [14522745.683412] ehci_hcd :00:1a.0: setting latency timer to 64 [14522745.683417] ehci_hcd :00:1a.0: EHCI Host Controller [14522745.683449] ehci_hcd :00:1a.0: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 1 [14522745.683473] ehci_hcd :00:1a.0: debug port 2 [14522745.687352] ehci_hcd :00:1a.0: cache line size of 64 is not supported [14522745.687371] ehci_hcd :00:1a.0: irq 22, io mem 0xc286 [14522745.702586] ehci_hcd :00:1a.0: USB 2.0 started, EHCI 1.00 [14522745.702628] usb usb1: New USB device found, idVendor=1d6b, idProduct=0002 [14522745.702631] usb usb1: New USB device strings: Mfr=3, Product=2, SerialNumber=1 [14522745.702633] usb usb1: Product: EHCI Host Controller [14522745.702635] usb usb1: Manufacturer: Linux 3.2.0-4-amd64 ehci_hcd [14522745.702637] usb usb1: SerialNumber: :00:1a.0 [14522745.702828] hub 1-0:1.0: USB hub found
Bug#661487: samba: Setting file attributes when dos filemode=yes and user is not owner of file causes stale lock.
Package: samba Version: 2:3.5.6~dfsg-3squeeze6 Severity: important Tags: upstream This bug seems to be exactly the same as bug 7892 from Samba bugzilla, even if it seems to be resolved in 3.4 and 3.5 at the end of year 2010. Link to Samba bugzilla: https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7892 When using dos filemode=yes, if a user that is not the owner of a file on the samba share (but has the right to change its attributes because of the directive dos filemode=yes) actually changes attributes to a file, then a stale lock appears on that file, that prevents any modification to that file. This lock remains present until the client that caused it disconnects or the process responsible for it (on the samba server) is killed. Please read the linked bug report on Samba bugzilla for a complete description of the issue. Bug#661487: Reported because of I thought it should be fixed
Dear Christian, I have reported this bug because I believed it to be a regression, maybe in the Debian version only, of a bug that was fixed upstream more than one year ago. So I thought maybe it's a Debian-specific bug, somehow the patch that Samba applied a year ago did not make it into Debian. And anyway, I think it's a good idea to fix this bug in Squeeze, because even if it's not a security bug, it's quite crippling expecially for exotic software packages (complex CAD propgrams for example) that tend to trigger it a lot on shared library files, for example. Bug#637570: asterisk: Voicemail promts for italian language not found, english used instead
Package: asterisk Version: 1:1.6.2.9-2+squeeze3 Severity: normal Asterisk 1.6.2 from Debian Squeeze, even with italian propmt files installed (package is asterisk-prompt-it), fails to prononunce numbers in italian language. How to reproduce: Dial into voicemail, enter menu, listen to the voice that says you have X messages (in italian!) and you will hear the text in italian, but the numbers in english. In console, with the appropriate verbose level, you will see that language is properly selected, as follows: -- SIP/11-000e Playing 'vm-youhave.gsm' (language 'it') -- SIP/11-000e Playing 'digits/8.gsm' (language 'it') -- SIP/11-000e Playing 'vm-nuovi.gsm' (language 'it') -- SIP/11-000e Playing 'vm-messages.gsm' (language 'it') Anyway, the number 8 (in this example) is prononunced in English. How to fix: If you copy all of the audio files from /usr/share/asterisk/sounds/digits/it to /usr/share/asterisk/sounds/digits (that is, from the it directory to the previous directory) then Asterisk will find them and use them. I suppose that the voicemail application fails to add it (or any other language string) when opening number files, so copying them out of the it directory makes it work. Clearly this workaround does not allow to use more than one language. -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0.2 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages asterisk depends on: ii adduser3.112+nmu2add and remove users and groups ii asterisk-config1:1.6.2.9-2+squeeze3 Configuration files for Asterisk ii asterisk-sounds-ma 1:1.6.2.9-2+squeeze3 Core Sound files for Asterisk (Eng ii dahdi 1:2.2.1.1-1 utilities for using the DAHDI kern ii libasound2 1.0.23-2.1shared library for ALSA applicatio ii libc-client2007e 8:2007e~dfsg-3.1 c-client library for mail protocol ii libc6 2.11.2-10 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libcap21:2.19-3 support for getting/setting POSIX. ii libcurl3 7.21.0-2 Multi-protocol file transfer libra ii libgcc11:4.4.5-8 GCC support library ii libglib2.0-0 2.24.2-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgmime-2.0-2a2.2.25-2 MIME library ii libgsm11.0.13-3 Shared libraries for GSM speech co ii libiksemel31.2-4 C library for the Jabber IM platfo ii libjack0 [libjack- 1:0.118+svn3796-7 JACK Audio Connection Kit (librari ii libldap-2.4-2 2.4.23-7.2OpenLDAP libraries ii liblua5.1-05.1.4-5 Simple, extensible, embeddable pro ii libncurses55.7+20100313-5shared libraries for terminal hand ii libnewt0.520.52.11-1 Not Erik's Windowing Toolkit - tex ii libogg01.2.0~dfsg-1 Ogg bitstream library ii libopenais31.1.2-2 Standards-based cluster framework ii libopenr2-31.3.0-2 MFC/R2 (telephony) call setup libr ii libpopt0 1.16-1lib for parsing cmdline parameters ii libpq5 8.4.8-0squeeze2 PostgreSQL C client library ii libpri1.4 1.4.11.3-1Primary Rate ISDN specification li ii libradiusclient-ng 0.5.6-1.1 Enhanced RADIUS client library ii libresample1 0.1.3-3 real-time audio resampling library ii libsdl1.2debian1.2.14-6.1Simple DirectMedia Layer ii libsnmp15 5.4.3~dfsg-2 SNMP (Simple Network Management Pr ii libspandsp20.0.6~pre12-1 Telephony signal processing librar ii libspeex1 1.2~rc1-1 The Speex codec runtime library ii libspeexdsp1 1.2~rc1-1 The Speex extended runtime library ii libsqlite0 2.8.17-6 SQLite shared library ii libss7-1 1.0.2-1 Signalling System 7 (ss7) library ii libssl0.9.80.9.8o-4squeeze1 SSL shared libraries ii libstdc++6 4.4.5-8 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libsybdb5 0.82-7libraries for connecting to MS SQL ii libtiff4 3.9.4-5+squeeze3 Tag Image File Format (TIFF) libra ii libtonezone2.0 1:2.2.1.1-1 tonezone library (runtime) ii libvorbis0a1.3.1-1 The Vorbis General Audio Compressi ii libvorbisenc2 1.3.1-1 The Vorbis General Audio Compressi ii libvpb04.2.52-2 Voicetronix telephony hardware use ii libx11-6 2:1.3.3-4 X11 client-side library ii libxml2

Bug#520012: samba: net rpc vampire sets wrong passwords for machine accounts
Package: samba Version: 2:3.2.5-4 Severity: important I am setting up a PDC with Lenny, and i have tried to run a net rpc vampire against a NT4 PDC. The vampire process seems to fail to get machine account passwords, even if it gets the machine accounts themselves (the entries get created properly in /etc/passwd and in samba auth database). The result is that if I want to make the clients connect to the domain after switching to the new DC (Samba) I have to rejoin every client to the domain, which is impossibile since we have more than 150 clients here. I have searched for this bug, and found something on the Samba list (the url of a copy of the messages is here: http://www.nabble.com/net-rpc-vampire-in-release-3.2.x-td19180372.html) even if it is not clear about which version they are talking about. I have searched for the bug on the Samba bug tracking system, but I came up with only this: https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5722. The problem seems to be the same, but no solution. This bug makes it impossibile to use the net rpc vampire command at all. I will attach later the output of the vampire command, separated in two files, standard output and standard error. You will see that there are a lots of errors regarding machine account creations. -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-1-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages samba depends on: ii adduser 3.110 add and remove users and groups ii debconf [debconf-2.0 1.5.24 Debian configuration management sy ii libacl1 2.2.47-2Access control list shared library ii libattr1 1:2.4.43-2 Extended attribute shared library ii libc62.7-18 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libcomerr2 1.41.3-1common error description library ii libcups2 1.3.8-1lenny4.1 Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - ii libgnutls26 2.4.2-6+lenny1 the GNU TLS library - runtime libr ii libkrb53 1.6.dfsg.4~beta1-5 MIT Kerberos runtime libraries ii libldap-2.4-22.4.11-1OpenLDAP libraries ii libpam-modules 1.0.1-5 Pluggable Authentication Modules f ii libpam-runtime 1.0.1-5 Runtime support for the PAM librar ii libpam0g 1.0.1-5 Pluggable Authentication Modules l ii libpopt0 1.14-4 lib for parsing cmdline parameters ii libtalloc1 1.2.0~git20080616-1 hierarchical pool based memory all ii libwbclient0 2:3.2.5-4 client library for interfacing wit ii logrotate3.7.1-5 Log rotation utility ii lsb-base 3.2-20 Linux Standard Base 3.2 init scrip ii procps 1:3.2.7-11 /proc file system utilities ii samba-common 2:3.2.5-4 Samba common files used by both th ii update-inetd 4.31inetd configuration file updater ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.3.dfsg-12 compression library - runtime samba recommends no packages. If I load it before, it works, but then when I perform htaccess-style auth, like this: Location /bookmarks Dav On order deny, allow allow from all Authtype Basic Authname DAV access AuthUserFile /etc/apache2/passwd.install Require valid-user /Location I get an error in the log that says: [Sat Apr 07 22:37:54 2007] [warn] [client 10.1.42.11] [mod_auth_pgsql.c] - missing configuration parameters So it seems that both auth modules are trying to autenticate the user together.
