Bug#329658: tetex-extra depends on ptex-bin for installation but not specified in package requirement
Hi, My system was upgraded from Woody. At that time I failed to get the tetex-extra package installed, I do not know why. But I have now verified that I now can install tetex-extra without having ptex-bin installed. I do not know how this old bug propagated through my system. Please close the bug Magnus Hilmar Preusse wrote: > > No it does not. tetex-extra is usable without having ptex innstalled. > Please give us the output of "dpkg -l ptex*", > "ls -l /tec/texmf/fmt.d/*" and > "grep ptex /var/lib/texmf/web2c/fmtutil.cnf" . > > Background: In the postin script of ptex-bin some old ptex*.cnf are > removed during purge but not renamed during remove. Bug#329658: tetex-extra depends on ptex-bin for installation but not specified in package requirement
Dear sir, I run the stable distribution. When I try to install tetex-extra, the system fails with ===Snip of error Message=== mktexlsr: Done. Running initex for missing formats. This may take some time. ... /usr/bin/fmtutil: line 253: ptex: command not found Error: `ptex -ini -jobname=platex -progname=platex platex.ini' failed ===End Snip of error message=== ==(This is not the actual error message its a copy from bug #232990 == After tracing down the error, I find that it is the ptex program that is missing. I therefore beleive that tetex-extra should be declared as depending of ptex-bin, since it fails to install if ptex-bin is not installed. Bug#324987: loading of mousedev in kernel-image 2.6.8
Package: module-init-tools Version: 3.2-pre1-2 Thank you for maintaining the Debian Linux system. I upgraded my Debian 3.1 system to kernel-image 2.6.8 This broke the Xwindows system, since it could not access the mouse. After some debugging, I found out that the mousedev module was not loaded. # modprobe mousedev solves this problem. I beleive that mousedev should be loaded by default during boot. regards, Magnus Sundberg -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Bug#316098: Interaktive install hangs at inactivity
Dear sirs, I am very sorry for taking up your time with this bug report. I found the source of the problem. Power saving after 20 minutes was activated in the bios. Apparently does the kernel not support that. I have now disabled the power saving and I do not expect any more problems. regards, Magnus Sundberg Christian Perrier wrote: Quoting Magnus Sundberg ([EMAIL PROTECTED]): Well, probably yes, I see it as quite consistent on _my computer_. Repeated the install, with a little bit more activity, tooka a break for lunch, now it hung at the menu for what type of applications to install. So, a pretty "random" hang which does not depend on what is really running on the system. Debugging this will be kinda hard as I suspect some hardware problem. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Bug#312532: Postfix upgrading to revision 3.1
Package: postfix Version: 2.1.5-9 Dear sirs, Thank you for developping debian and maintaining the packages. I upgraded my 3.0 installation to 3.1. It is possible that I may have missed some dialog box during the installation. Anyway, I got this error message in the mail log: Jun 8 11:26:39 dican postfix/smtpd[17244]: warning: connect #4 to subsystem /var/spool/postfix/private/proxymap: No such file or directory Then I uninstalled postfix and moved /etc/postfix -> /etc/postfix_old and reinstalled the package. Postfix would not work now either. I then added the following lines to the main.cf file setgid_group = postdrop mail_owner = postfix local_recipient_maps = unix:passwd.byname anyway, after adding the last line, I could telnet localhost 25 and get the banner. To do alias lookup I had to add the following line virtual_alias_maps = hash:/etc/aliases It looks like I failed to get the mail proxy to work, and my fix is to access the data directly. regards, Magnus Sundberg -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
