Bug#572084: linux-image-2.6.32-2-orion5x: NFS kernel daemon support disabled?
Package: linux-2.6 Version: 2.6.32-8 Severity: normal After upgrading its kernel from 2.6.30-2-orion5x to 2.6.32-2-orion5x, I cannot mount NFS v4 filesystems exported by my QNAP-409. When attempting to restart nfs-kernel-server, I get the warning Not starting NFS kernel daemon: no support in current kernel. (warning). Looking at /boot/config-2.6.3{0,2}-2-orion5x, I notice that there are no differences in the NFS defines, so the issue may be elsewhere: $ diff config-2.6.30-2-orion5x config-2.6.32-2-orion5x | grep NFS # CONFIG_NFS_V4_1 is not set Best regards, Marco -- Package-specific info: ** Version: Linux version 2.6.32-2-orion5x (Debian 2.6.32-8) (b...@decadent.org.uk) (gcc version 4.3.4 (Debian 4.3.4-6) ) #1 Fri Feb 12 18:12:26 UTC 2010 ** Command line: console=ttyS0,115200n8 root=/dev/ram rw initrd=0x80,0x3f ** Not tainted ** Kernel log: [ 15.807260] disk 1, o:1, dev:sdb4 [ 15.810657] disk 2, o:1, dev:sdc4 [ 15.814053] disk 3, o:1, dev:sdd4 [ 15.817761] md3: detected capacity change from 0 to 2968503189504 [ 15.827266] md3: unknown partition table [ 16.200899] device-mapper: uevent: version 1.0.3 [ 16.213670] device-mapper: ioctl: 4.15.0-ioctl (2009-04-01) initialised: dm-de...@redhat.com [ 16.734575] kjournald starting. I created a .svn directory in /etc/ConsoleKit/seats.d/ and besides the harmless warning message everything is working fine. Bug#429827: sponsor?
Yaroslav, It would be great if you could sponsor qtstalker. It has been nearly three years since its latest upload. Were there particular problems why noone ended up sponsoring your packages? No, mainly a very lax sponsor ... If not, let me know url to the most recent versions (.dsc's) of your packages (I guess ones from June at http://www.zwets.com/debs/unstable/ could be outdated) and I will have a look and sponsor them if they are ready ;-) I have just prepared and uploaded 0.36-2 to both mentors.debian.net[1] and to my site[2]. In it, I ack the recent NMU (0.32-3.2), and thank you in advance :-) It builds and installs fine against current unstable, and is lintian clean. Note that Qtstalker depends on TA-Lib which isn't in Debian yet. (My ITP for TA-Lib expired after a year.) My packages for TA-Lib are at mentors and my site as well [3,4]. Adam Majer wrote: http://www.zwets.com/debs/unstable/ Contains the ta-lib, which is needed by qtstalker. Are you looking to have that sponsored as well? Yes, I filed an ITP for it (#437177), but that was closed in August due to the same problem: no sponsor. Also, is there any work being done by upstream to move it to Qt 4? Qt 3 is no longer maintainer by Trolltech. Officially obsolete. So it will most likely be removed from Debian next release cycle. Yes, upstream is working on an upgrade to Qt 4. Initially this used compatibility libraries for Qt 3, but a 'true' Qt 4 version is on its way. Marco -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Yes, status hasn't changed in a year. Qtstalker still needs a sponsor, though I must say I have given up trying to find one. I recently did an upload of the latest qtstalker release (0.36) to mentors.debian.net. The packages are also available from http://zwets.com/qtstalker. Bug#369121: proposed NMU for #454879
Hi Ian, Thank you for the patches to solve qtstalker's FTBFS. Let's hope your sponsor / AM will upload the fixes. My sponsor hasn't exactly been very reponsive ... I notice you're in the NM queue. Would you be interested in taking over qtstalker's maintenance, or could you help getting the current version (0.35) into Debian? I've had packages ready for ages now[1]. Note that 0.35 has a dependency on TA-Lib, so I packaged that as well[2] and filed an ITP[3]. It'd be great if you could be the uploader (or maintainer) for libta-lib as well. Bug#446477: Confirming GNOME's New Login hangs
I can confirm this bug has been around for a long time (at least since 8.28). I suspect it to be related to the infamous Xorg hangs when logging out (a.o. 418338, 400743, 402375, and 345040), which has been plagueing us for nearly two years now. Sigh[1]. I can work around the hang at logout bug by having GDM restart X at each logout (by putting AlwaysRestartServer=true in the [daemon] section of /etc/gdm/gdm.conf). However, New Login still invariably results in a hang. :-( Best regards, Marco [1] Note: this sigh is not directed at Romain or Flavio. They're doing an excellent job. Many kudo's to you two! Bug#437177: qtstalker
David Pradier wrote: ta-lib is necessary for the upgrade of qtstalker, which is currently at the 0.32 version. It would be useful to bump its version to 0.34 as the changelog (0.33) mentions things such as : 20060620: Fixed bug in Tester that did not calculate account balances properly as trades are made. We always ended up with a few 100 more unexplained dollars. Which is a fatal problem for a trading system. Depends on which side the balance ends ;-) So the severity could be seen not as a wish, but as a bug. Agreed, but the bug lies with the qtstalker package, which should upgrade to 0.34. See bug #429827. The bug you are sending this info to (#437177) is only the ITP for TA-Lib. This just states my intention to package (= ITP) TA-Lib. ITP bugs are always of wishlist severity. Bug#336483: nvidia-kernel-source: does not work on kernel 2.6.14
Package: nvidia-kernel-source Version: 1.0.7174-4 Severity: normal The nVidia kernel module does not work on linux kernel 2.6.14.i It installs fine and modprobe does not give error messages, but no /dev/nvidia* devices show up. This is acknowledged by zander from nVidia Corporation in http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=715440, where he states that that the pre-7676 modules will not work together with sysfs/udev. BTW: I have the module working fine on kernel 2.6.12. Bug#327990: qtstalker: uninstallable; needs rebuild for the Qt/KDE transition
Note to NMU-ers: I will very much welcome your NMU of qtstalker. Since I am not a DD, I depend on the willingness of a sponsor to perform the upload. I've tried finding a sponsor several times, unfortunately without success. So please do the NMU. However, if you do, please consider uploading the most recent version of qtstalker (0.32-2). It is more mature than the 0.26-5 version which is currently in testing. The debs are up at mentors.debian.net[1] and at my personal site[2]. You'd make me (and the other Qtstalker users!) very happy. Bug#321318: acknowledged by developer (Fixed in new package upload)
Matthew, To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Fixed in new package upload This should be fixed in the latest upload. Just a minor point: since this bug is fixed by an upload, why do you close it using email to its -done address? Marco -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#321318: hotkey-setup: package contains no binaries or (init) scripts
Package: hotkey-setup Version: 0.1-1 Severity: normal The package does not contain the init script that its README.Debian refers to. As a consequence, it doesn't actually do anything. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Bug#319370: lintian: duplicate fields in debian/control erroneously tagged as errors
Package: lintian Version: 1.23.10 Severity: normal Probably as a consequence of the fix for bug #299792, lintian now flags duplicate fields in different paragraphs of debian/control as an error (debian-control-with-duplicate-fields). Bug#306240: qtstalker: FTBFS: Versioned Build-Depends on virtual package 'libmysqlclient-dev'
Please change the Build-Depends to 'libmysqlclient12-dev' in debian/control. Or libmysqlclient14-dev, which is the version that upstream currently recommends. I've bumped it to 14 in qtstalker 0.29-2, which I'll upload to m.d.n in a second. I'll be very grateful to the DD who will pick it up from there and NMU / sponsor it.[2] Unfortunately, since I have no ongoing interest in this package, I'm not really willing to do the work behind sponsoring a new upstream version of it. If you could prepare a 0.26-4 version that fixes this particular bug, I'd be happy to sponsor that. Thanks Steve, I've just uploaded 0.26-5 to m.d.n.. It fixes this FTBFS and another potential build-related problem. The diff with 0.26-3 is pretty minimal, so it shouldn't be a lot of work for you. Thanks for picking this up. Bug#306240: qtstalker: FTBFS: Versioned Build-Depends on virtual package 'libmysqlclient-dev'
Hello Steve, Andreas, Please change the Build-Depends to 'libmysqlclient12-dev' in debian/control. This bug was fixed long ago, and a new version (0.29-1) has been waiting at mentors.debian.net[1] for months. I would love to see it go into Debian, but my sponsor has been very reluctant, and now seems to have gone without a trace. ... lemme tell you how an orphaned package must feel ;-( Or libmysqlclient14-dev, which is the version that upstream currently recommends. Bug#302639: qtstalker: deb updated on sourceforge though not in debian !
Bonjour Alban, Thank you for your bug report. I have installed your package from sourceforge but wonder why it is not available in debian The reason the Debian version lags this much is that I am not an official Debian developer (DD), but depend on a so-called sponsor (a DD) to upload my packages into the Debian archives. The problem is, my sponsor has been rather unresponsive over the last year :-( However, your bug report has triggered me to work on a fix :-) Either I will get my sponsor to be more involved, or I'll find a new sponsor. Either way, I'll make sure a newer Qtstalker version gets into Debian soon. It is a pity already that the 0.29 version will likely not make it into the Sarge stable release :-( Well and why it still use db2 but i agree that fixing bugs in qtstalker is more important than upgrading to a maybe version of a new db release (notwithstanding the upgrade process). Upstream is working on an upgrade to the 4+ stream of BDB, so this will eventually be fixed. Best regards, Marco -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble?
