Bug#495752: [lintian] command-with-path-in-maintainer-script: truncated filename in report

The rename took place by unanimous decision of the upstream development team, to avoid confusion with ATI products that were recently purchased by AMD. The code is still the same as xserver-xorg-video-amd, but the filenames and the package name in configure.ac were changed to reflect the renaming. The code also includes a fallback that allows it to respond to an xorg.conf that requests the "amd" driver. This source package will therefore include transitional packages that allow users who already have xserver-xorg-video-amd to automatically pull the new xserver-xorg-video-geode driver. Likewise, the xserver-xorg-video-amd source package will be removed from the Debian archive as soon as the first xserver-xorg-video-geode upload is done. -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFH54RceXr56x4Muc0RAkMNAKCG0DK521t6VvVDQzDL0SNM5X4BewCfULmC babG2LbXQ7I19KmA5WRaKlg= =3C78 -END PGP SIGNATURE-
Bug#439134: linux-image-2.6.18-5-486: 2.6.18-5-486 fails to boot
Package: linux-image-2.6.18-5-486 Version: 2.6.18.dfsg.1-13etch1 Severity: critical Justification: breaks the whole system -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 The 2.6.18-5-486 kernel that was pushed over the last few days to replace 2.6.18-4 makes this system completely unbootable. Package: mknbi Version: 1.4.4-1 Severity: important -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Since Etch, mkelf-linux produces files that a thin client verified to work with older releases can no longer recognize. Additionally, LTSP developers pointed out that a number of patches were merged into the Ubuntu package that Debian could benefit from. Some of those patches fix this issue; they clearly remember having encountered a similarly broken mkelf-linux a few Ubuntu releases ago and patched it to make it work again. Bug#272354: pbuilder: [security repository support] implementable with defaults for stable/testing instead of specific Debian releases
Package: pbuilder Version: 0.123 Followup-For: Bug #272354 -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 I think that the easiest way to implement this would be to have presets for standard stable/testing/experimental distributions, as opposed to named distributions (e.g. Woody, Sarge, Sid). Then someone only needs to define the 2-letter code for their mirror in pbuilderrc and which of the 3 possible distributions is the target; if stable or testing is selected, then pbuilder will automatically check for security packages in addition to normal packages. This would also avoid the need to create named presets for each distribution release, since there would only be 3 possible distributions to build for: stable, testing, experimental. - -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 Architecture: powerpc (ppc) Kernel: Linux 2.6.11-imac Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] (charmap=ISO-8859-15) Versions of packages pbuilder depends on: ii coreutils 5.2.1-2The GNU core utilities ii debianutils 2.8.4 Miscellaneous utilities specific t ii debootstrap 0.2.45-0.2 Bootstrap a basic Debian system ii gcc 4:3.3.5-3 The GNU C compiler ii wget 1.9.1-12 retrieves files from the web - -- no debconf information -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v1.4.1 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFCoZqNeXr56x4Muc0RAuwBAKCnxiEqzauIVga3+MmVsl8KQH8+swCfUy4n W8eT9MoRnq3zR2FvVNHgdG8= =z1PS -END PGP SIGNATURE- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#311184: xserver-xfree86: mouse support broken since last-minute -13 upload to Sarge
Package: xserver-xfree86 Version: 4.3.0.dfsg.1-13 Severity: important -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 By Vorlon's request: Since last night's 4.3.0.dfsg.1-13 upload, left-handed mouse no longer works (at least in GNOME - unconfirmed under other desktop environments). Selecting left-handed operation in GNOME's Desktop Preferences results in a situation where the main button [1] must be held while scrolling thru the GNOME menu and where executing a selection requires further holding the main button and then clicking what would be the secondary button to launch the application. Deselecting the left-handed operation brings things back to normal... from a right handed's perspective. I beleive that Vorlon mentioned to Fabione on #debian-devel that he figured out which of the two changes in mouse behavior mentioned in the changelog for -13 would cause this. While this is not a critical bug, the situation introduced by -13 forces left-handed people to use a right-handed setting in order to remain half-sane, which nonetheless causes a severe loss in productivity. It would be appreciated if this were fixed before Sarge is released. Thanks! [1] I here use the terms main and secondary buttons, since the use of left/right names would be confusing, given how we're talking about a left-handed operation. Main is the button that would normally be used to selecting items, while secondary is the one that would normally bring context menus. - -- Package-specific info: Contents of /var/lib/xfree86/X.roster: xserver-xfree86 /var/lib/xfree86/X.md5sum does not exist.
