Package: dhelp Version: 0.5.23 Severity: normal -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Dependencies are confused -- it Suggests: httpd, but with thttpd (which provides httpd as well) it doesn't work, because thttpd doesn't follow symlinks, so there is no way how to symlink /usr/share/doc to /var/www/doc so that thttpd would read it. It is not necessary (Debian package should do all installation itself) and locations of many files has been changed to follow needs of one centralized installation and to be according to the Debian policies. If you want to know where everything is located, run dpkg -L vim-vimoutliner 2) Behavior of the package has changed from previous versions! Scripts vo_checkbox.vim and vo_hoist.vim are now considered stable and thus they could be sourced by the ingenious mechanism controlled by run g:vo_modules_load variable in /etc/vim/vimoutlinerrc. 3) Upstream documentation (located in /usr/share/doc/vim-vimoutliner/README) mentions ,, as the prefix to most VO commands. In reality, even the upstream package actually uses the native Vim localleader variable, which is set to \ (backslash) by default, so that a command listed in the README file as ,,B -- Make body text start with a space, is actually executed when you type \B (with default defintion of localleader). If you want to use different localleader uncomment in /etc/vim/vimoutlinerrc the following line and change the value of the variable to whatever you want. let maplocalleader = ,,this is prepended to VO key 4) For information how to use vimoutliner, you can use vim help under :he vimoutliner. 5) Two very useful plugins for VO -- hoist and checkbox -- ARE enabled by default. Their status could be changed by changes in the global variable g:vo_modules_load either in the VO global configuration file /etc/vim/vimoutlinerrc or in personal configuration file ~/.vimoutlinerrc. Well, it is Debian package now (http://packages.debian.org/kde-style-klearlook), but I am the maintainer :-(. However, I am not a programmer, so I have not clue, what's going on. I send a message to the upstream, and I will see what happens. Weird, in the final count I have reported bug to myself ;-). The Depends field should also be used if the postinst, prerm or postrm scripts require the package to be present in order to run. Note, however, that the postrm cannot rely on any non-essential packages to be present during the purge phase. Recommends This declares a strong, but not absolute, dependency. Package: libqt3-mt Version: 3:3.3.5-3 Severity: important -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I am not sure whether I should file this here or against the xlibs-data package, but the problem shows itself only in Qt-based applications (both KDE and non-KDE, like lyx-qt) so I am going here. When pressing deadkey with a letter, combination of which gives Czech letter with diacritical mark (e.g., zcaron), I get caron and letter-z as two separate characters, ˇz. Bug#272256: nail as a full replacement of mail
Hi, Concerning compatibility between nail and mailx http://nail.sourceforge.net says: Linux distributions made the situation even more confusing. They could only use the original Berkeley Mail (System V mailx was closed source until the OpenSolaris release in 2005). Yet because Mail and mailx were sufficiently similar for most applications, it seemed appropriate for many to also feature a mailx command which was just Mail, thus not sufficient for formal POSIX.2 conformance. Most distributions also made mail invoke Mail, since Unix mail was also closed source until January 2002. [...] Thus it is appropriate to call nail as mailx. If it is called as Mail, a short shell script should be created which sets the bsdcompat variable before invoking nail. mail however is an entirely different command and should be taken from the Heirloom Toolchest if an Open Source version is desired. Given the fact that we were calling mailx as mail anyway :-), I do not think that making nail replacement of mail would do things any worse. :-) So why cannot you guys (whoever is maintainer) just fix this, please? Best, Matěj -- Matej Cepl, http://www.ceplovi.cz/matej/blog/ GPG Finger: 89EF 4BC6 288A BF43 1BAB 25C3 E09F EF25 D964 84AC I went to a Grateful Dead Concert and they played for SEVEN hours. Bug#342582: openoffice.org-writer: Cannot change table in Bibliographic database with external ODBC source
Package: openoffice.org-writer Version: 2.0.0-4 Severity: normal -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Hi, when trying to use bibus (http://bibus-biblio.sf.net) with OOo native interface (i.e., setting up bibus database as an external bibliographic source via ODBC) I cannot change OOo to read data from particular table in the database, but OOo always picks the alphabetically first table from the database (which is not the correct one in the bibus case), even though all databases (including the one OOo picked up) where checked off in Tools/Filter Tables of OOBase, and even though I tried to use the roll down button in the Bibliographic databases manager. Unfortunately, that makes bibliographic support in OOo unusable for me and thus (I am a PhD student writing my thesis) it makes OOo as such unusable, so I have to stick with LyX for time being. BTW, it doesn't matter whether the ODBC connection is set up from SQLite (which has somehow unreliable ODBC driver, true) or from MySQL (which should be OK). See http://www.ceplovi.cz/matej/tmp/ooo-biblio/bibquery.png for illustration of the incorrect behavior of OOo, and http://www.ceplovi.cz/matej/tmp/ooo-biblio/oobase.png to show that OOBase can read the database correctly. So instead of 11/12/05 I get 11/11/05 in the OOCalc. It happens only in some rows. Bug#337530: Acknowledgement (openoffice.org-calc: OOo issue#57320 -- incorrect import of date format)
Actually, it is getting more and more weird: When I was able to open the file in OOo-RPM oocalc, I have of course saved the file as .ods. Now, when I open it with OOo-Debian (freshly from unstable), the bug is there again (see attached example). When I went into the zip file, I found this in the content.xml (broken lines for this message, it is cell E3): table:table-cell office:value-type=date office:date-value=1948-11-12 text:p11/11/48/text:p /table:table-cell office:date-value is correct, but text:p (which is what is apparently displayed) is wrong. Any thoughts? Matej -- Matej Cepl, http://www.ceplovi.cz/matej/blog/ GPG Finger: 89EF 4BC6 288A BF43 1BAB 25C3 E09F EF25 D964 84AC This message has been composed of recycled electrons. Bug#329585: Workaround
I have ripped off help/ directory from the upstream RPM files and replaced with it /usr/lib/openoffice/help. It seems to work (not much testing, but three attempts to get help all ended in the right place). It is totally Works For Me(TM), but if anybody is interested all files are available at http://www.ceplovi.cz/matej/progs/ooo-help-files.tar.bz2 Good luck, Matej -- Matej Cepl, http://www.ceplovi.cz/matej/blog/ GPG Finger: 89EF 4BC6 288A BF43 1BAB 25C3 E09F EF25 D964 84AC When you come to the fork in the road, take it -- L.P. Bug#174145: Use gmane
There are many Debian lists covered by gmane.org (news2email gateway), which provides RSS for its newsgroups. So for example here are the options for debian-mentors http://dir.gmane.org/gmane.linux.debian.devel.mentors and specifically you can get all messages from the list with complete text from this feed http://rss.gmane.org/messages/complete/gmane.linux.debian.devel.mentors. Bug#328466: krusader: Key shortcut for making a link required
Package: krusader Version: 1.60.0-1 Severity: wishlist -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 I think %subj% says it all -- it seems to me that the only way how to create links on current/selected file(s) is via Drag-and-Drop and that's against all philosophy of OFS not to provide key shortcut for this rather frequent operation. And of course, that it would be nice if Krusader (contrary to Ctrl-X,Ctrl-S of Midnight Commander) make links for all selected files, not just for the current file.
