Bug#403070: xmms-midi: should depend on freepats?

2006-12-14 Thread Mathijs Romans
Package: xmms-midi
Version: 0.03-4
Severity: normal

My apologies if I am misunderstanding Debian package-management, but I
installed xmms-midi,
and playing MIDI files resulted in no sound at all. Of course, this problem
went away after I installed
freepats. xmms-midi only recommends freepats, but I find it quite useless
without it. Wouldn't it be
more user-friendly if it would actually depend on freepats?

Bug#384314: inkscape: crashes after issuing undo command while drawing a primitive

2006-08-23 Thread Mathijs Romans
Package: inkscape
Version: 0.44-1
Severity: normal

I can get inkscape to crash after the following sequence of commands:
(one has to be very precise to manage this :)

* Select "Create stars and polygons"
* Click and hold left mouse button (LMB) on empty page.
* Drag mouse to draw a star.
* Click and hold right mouse button (RMB) while holding LMB.
* Hover over "Undo" and release LMB.

(there is a warning in the console:
** (inkscape:4883): WARNING **: Event: Set attribute style to
"fill:yellow;fill-rule:evenodd;stroke:black;stroke-width:1px;stroke-linecap:butt;stroke-linejoin:miter;stroke-opacity:1"
 on #
)

* Release RMB.
The program is now unstable.
* Select "draw calligraphic lines"
The program crashes (gracefully).

Cheers,
Mathijs

Bug#389565: kcontrol: Printers module does not have an option to change CUPS server

2006-09-26 Thread Mathijs Romans
Package: kcontrol
Version: 4:3.5.4-2+b1
Severity: normal

*** Please type your report below this line *** In the KDE Control Center,
under "Peripherals" then "Printers", I
choose CUPS as my "Print system currently used". Default server is
localhost:631. I wish to use an external CUPS
server, but cannot change the server here. If I do not have a local CUPS server
running, or have no rights on the
remote CUPS server, I cannot use "configure server". However, I can use the
"What is this?" (Shift+F1) help function on
the Server: localhost:631 entry on the bottom of te screen. It tells me "To
switch to a different CUPS server, click
"System options" etc. " This was in fact helpful as via google I found I could
use the kprinter program to change the
server.

To summarize: there should be an option to change the CUPS server.

Thanks,
Mathijs

Bug#366797: inkscape: EPS import broken

2006-08-18 Thread Mathijs Romans

Hi!

I had exactly the same experience. I installed inkscape and all the
packages it suggests and recommends, but it doesn't recognize .ps or .eps
files (doesn't even list them as a recognizable image file). Then I
installed sketch, and now I have get this message when importing a
Postscript file:

Inkscape has received additional data from the script executed. The
script did not return an error, but this may indicate the results will not
be as expected.

Bug#439104: phpwiki: MySQL initialization file is missing, but mentioned in documentation.

2007-08-22 Thread Mathijs Romans
Package: phpwiki
Version: 1.3.12p3-6
Severity: normal

I tried installing phpwiki with a MySQL database. I read the documentation file
/usr/share/doc/phpwik/INSTALL.mysql. In step 3 of this file it is
mentioned that I should create tables in my database using a file named
schemas/mysql-initialize.sql. However, such a file is not included in the
debian package. I expected to find it in /usr/share/doc/phpwiki/schemas/. I
could proceed my installation by using the file on
http://phpwiki.cvs.sourceforge.net/phpwiki/phpwiki/schemas/mysql-initialize.sql?view=log.

Bug#359685: imwheel: complains about unrecognized wheel action in default config

2006-03-28 Thread Mathijs Romans

Hi Christopher,

you're completely right. Sorry I didn't know I should look into these
document files (I'm not such a frequent bug-reporter :-))

I have been using the imwheel program to get Mathematica to scroll, as
described here: http://physics.ou.edu/~mcraven/mathmouse.html

This shell script that comes from that webpage:

<--start-->
#!/bin/sh

# `-r' flag means don't use the "Configurator"
# and pass wheel events to the root window
imwheel -r

mathematica $1

imwheel -kq
<--end-->

is now obsolete as the -b option is missing. Thanks for your patience,

Mathijs

What options are you using to start imwheel? Make sure that you supply
it with a button spec (-b "4 5 6 7 8 9", etc.) and read
the /usr/share/doc/imwheel/NEWS.Debian.gz
and /usr/share/doc/imwheel/README.Debian.gz, since this latest package
introduces some changes.

If that doesn't fix it, send me a copy of your imwheelrc.

Thanks,
Christopher Martin

Bug#360729: nedit segfaults when pressing escape in a menu

2006-04-04 Thread Mathijs Romans

I have this backtrace for you:

I am struggling a bit to get the libraries with debugging information to
link with the executable and the like, if you need more information let me
know.

Hi,

When I use a menu, for example by pressing Alt-c, and the press Escape, I get a
segfault.
I tried getting the debian source and compiling it, which gave me a hint of the
error:

Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
0xb7ee7364 in _XmMenuEscape () from /usr/lib/libXm.so.2
(gdb) Terminated

Do you have a backtrace or a core?

Bug#357812: gwenview: broken error message while opening unexisting external tool

2006-03-19 Thread Mathijs Romans

Package: gwenview
Version: 1.3.1-2
Severity: minor

This cosmetic error occurs when I want to use the GIMP as an external
tool, without having it installed. I right-click on a picture, choose

find the program 'The'" Obviously, this should be: "Could not find the

program 'The GIMP'"
