Bug#687025: Display of Grammalecte extension messages is black on black
Source: libreoffice-kde Version: 3.6.1-1 Severity: normal When using Grammalecte extension ( http://extensions.libreoffice.org/extension-center/grammalecte ) in conjunction with libreoffice-kde, its messages are displayed in black text over black background. When removing libreoffice-kde and using the default style, the messages are displayed in black over pale yellow. I remember seeing such messages in previous versions of libreoffice-kde (for example for tooltips), it has now been fixed and these tooltips are displayed in white over black. Bug#624479: When using filtering by status, the article you want to read get skipped
Package: akregator Version: 4:4.4.11.1-1 Severity: normal Tags: experimental When you filter the articles by status with either unread or new, the article you want to read gets skipped without letting you the possibility to read it, The next article gets displayed in the lower pane, and the two articles disappear from the articles list. It is a regression from the behaviour in 4.4.7 where 1) the first article did not get skipped 2) The articles stayed in the upper pane The behaviour can be mitigated in an unsatisfying manner if you select a longer than defaut (0 s) mark as read timer (In settings Configure akregator Advanced). The article then stays displayed during the selected length of time. You can also untick the box altogether. But however, in this case, the count of unread articles will not decrease The only valid way to recover the old behaviour is to avoid using filtering by status. Bug#556548: is this still a problem?
Oops, I don't have this TV anymore. And it works with my current TV. So I cannot comment any further, sorry. Le lundi 21 février 2011, Cyril Brulebois a écrit : Hi Nicolas, unfortunately, Andres didn't Cc you, so I'm quoting his reply: Andres Cimmarusti acimmaru...@gmail.com (01/04/2010): Hi, I was getting similar problems with a laptop I have, but it was resolved a couple of radeon updates back. Is this still a problem with the newer radeon driver from squeeze (also newer kernel and mesa)? (make sure you have libdrm-radeon1, firmware-linux-nonfree and firmware-linux installed). If problem persists, could you try getting the even newer one from sid (you'll need a newer kernel as well, either 2.6.32-10 from sid or 2.6.33 from experimental). For this you will need to enable Kernel modesetting. add *radeon* to /etc/modules and put *options radeon modeset=1* in /etc/modprobe.d/radeon-kms.conf (you'll probably need to create the file). What Desktop environment are you running? If gnome I recommend you don't do your dual screen setup in your xorg.conf file. If you specify enough virtual size as you've done, gnome should do it automatically for you (this is what happens with a couple of laptops I have). You can also simply use xrandr. Simply put the right command in a file in /etc/X11/Xsession.d/ (I assume this would work perfectly in KDE and others). This is a valuable resource: http://www.jejik.com/articles/2008/10/setting_up_dual_monitors_system-wid e_with_xrandr_on_debian_lenny/ It would be nice to let us know how it goes with squeeze's or sid's X stack. Bug#603402: Exporting in PDF selected pages of long documents pick up the wrong pagerange
Package: libreoffice-writer Version: 1:3.3.0~beta2-2 Severity: grave Steps to reproduce 1. Take a very long document (100+ pages) 2. Export a specific subset of pages in PDF 3. Check if the pages exported are the correct one LibreOffice export a wrong range of page (say you asked pages 355-360, you may end getting 358-363). I classify the severity as grave as if you do not check the PDF before sending, you could end sending confidential data to people who should not see it. The only thing I get (attached) is something like the end of the video, with only Share this and replay. It seems to happen to me with some videos too, but some others seems to work OK. I asked about it to upstream [1] and it seems to be related to YouTube guys recalculating some URLs to make direct access harder. It seems that using GIO (giosrc) in favour of gnomevfs might solve the problem, but I couldn't find giosrc in Debian, so it'll have to wait until I can go for that. Bug#435669: Try to split koffice-doc package
Le lundi 28 janvier 2008, Raúl Sánchez Siles a écrit : Hello Nicolas: As I have checked this is the current status of koffice-doc-* packages: · koffice-doc: uncompressed size 293M · koffice-doc-html: uncompressed size 5140k The first one is intended just for developers since it contains koffice internals and API documentation. The second one as states in its description: By default the KOffice applications only provide their documentation in KDE docbook format, which can only be read by Konqueror or KHelpCenter. This package(koffice-doc-html) provides all of the KOffice documentation converted to HTML format so it can be read with any web browser. This is, each koffice application package contains its help in docbook format and you the possibility to install the koffice-doc-html package so you will also have them in html format. Currently, koffice-doc and koffice-doc-html are suggestions when installing koffice, so you could remove them safely. Maybe this wishlist could be translated into remove koffice-doc suggestion from koffice metapackage, or maybe you are satisfied with the explanation and you feel like closing the bug ;) . In this latter case, you could send an e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] In any case, we will be happy to hear feedback from you. Thanks for your interest. Thank you for your answer. But is koffice HTML documentation (as provided by koffice-doc-html) still integrated with KHelpCenter ? If true, this bug can be closed for me. -- Nicolas DEGAND

Bug#435669: Try to split koffice-doc package
Package: koffice-doc Version: 1:1.6.3-2 Severity: wishlist Koffice-doc is a huge package (almost 700 MB now). Upgrade often fails when partition space is limited as apt has to decompress the whole new package before replacing the old files. Package: udev Version: 0.093-1 Severity: normal Hi, after upgrading from 0.098-2 to 0.100-1, sound stopped working. Seems the apps could not find anything in /dev. The emu10k1 module was not loaded anymore. Loading it manually did not change anything. But the hardware was still recognized by lspci and lshw : 01:07.0 Multimedia audio controller: Creative Labs SB Live! EMU10k1 (rev 07) So I tried to downgrade udev to the testing version (0.093-1) (I do not have anymore the 0.098-2 version). And it worked. So I guess the problem lie in 0.100-1. Package: mozilla-firefox Version: 1.0.6-1 Severity: normal Since 1.0.5-1, I am noticing that my personal website display is broken (while it is 100% valid). The h1 title L'espace Marcel and the h2 Un blog peu motivé are not entirely displayed unless you highlight them. And if you scroll, the problem surfaces again. This does not happen on other test systems (Firefox 1.0.6/Windows and Firefox 1.0.6 under Kubuntu 5.04) I noticed in the changelog that there were changes involving freetype in the Firefox 1.0.5-1 package. Bug#311481: Hal hangs the computer at shutdown
Le Mardi 21 Juin 2005 10:01, Sjoerd Simons a écrit : That basically does the same as hal does for polling your drive. So it's interested to see if it gets stuck in D too.. For best effect, run when hald is disabled.. 1° /dev/hdc is my CD burner /dev/hdd is my dvd player. I sometimes had difficulties reading some CDs on my dvd player (corrupt data...) which passed on my CD burner. 2° As this was not very frequent, I did not investigate the matter further 3° The test. It got stuck in D after making 8 polls (4 times each drive). The last message displayed was detect disc on /dev/hdd. So, faulty hardware is likely the cause of all this. Anyway, after 10 minutes of uptime, i have this output for ps ax| grep hald 5357 ?Ds 0:00 /usr/sbin/hald --drop-privileges Ok, D state means that hal is currently ``inside'' a kernel call that hasn't returned yet. I stopped and restarted it as a normal user and as root multiple times and got confused about what was exactly going on. I made again the test as root. It displays Stopping Hardware abstraction layer: forever. Then goes back to the prompt on the same line than the message. And afterwards hald is still running. So basically shutting it down manually does nothing. I have also found something else. If I shut down my computer just after I started it (precisely before having logged in kdm and using the kdm shutdown menu), hald stops quickly By the way, I just realized that having a daemon called HAL unwilling to shut down on my computer is somehow funny. -- Nicolas DEGAND

Bug#289895: I confirm this
I just installed a fresh box with the DMA on the DVD apparently turned off. On first launch Kaffeine tries to turn the DMA on using hdparm and fail because of access rights. Eventually, both the Kaffeine and the hdparm process freezes. If I manually turn the DMA on, the Kaffeine GUI launch a first-time wizard, which check various things, especially the DMA status of the DVD player. It says everything is ok and then proceed normally. Afterwards, Kaffeine never use hdparm anymore as far as I can tell. -- Nicolas DEGAND -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
