Bug#1040307: imagemagick: Converting PNG to AVIF replaces transparent pixels with black pixels

2023-07-04 Thread Pierre Rudloff
Package: imagemagick
Version: 8:6.9.11.60+dfsg-1.3+deb11u1
Severity: normal
X-Debbugs-Cc: prudl...@insite.coop

Dear Maintainer,

When converting a PNG image to AVIF, transparent pixels are replaced with black
pixels.
It can be reproduced with this image:
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/9d/Alpha_transparency_image.png

With this command:
convert Alpha_transparency_image.png Alpha_transparency_image.avif

It seems to be a known issue fixed in ImageMagick 7:

Bug#1004912: Acknowledgement (rarcrack dead upstream?)

I second that. But you should think of a NMU or ITS to change the upstream.
The package maintainer is apparently inactive for years.

What improvements does this fork bring (apart from the macOS compatibility)?

Bug#971552: composer: Allow duplicate dashes in package names

2020-10-01 Thread Pierre Rudloff
Package: composer
Version: 1.8.4-1
Severity: minor
Tags: upstream

composer 1.8.4 wrongfully complains about package names that contain duplicate
dashes:

Deprecation warning: require.npm-asset/fortawesome--fontawesome-free is
invalid, it should have a vendor name, a forward slash, and a package name. The
vendor and package name can be words separated by -, . or _. The complete name
should match "[a-z0-9]([_.-]?[a-z0-9]+)*/[a-z0-9]([_.-]?[a-z0-9]+)*". Make sure
you fix this as Composer 2.0 will error.

This was fixed upstream in 1.10.6:

Bug#959748: thunderbird: Double-clicking on a thread does not open the latest message

2020-05-04 Thread Pierre Rudloff
Package: thunderbird
Version: 1:68.7.0-1~deb10u1
Severity: normal

Hello,

When grouping messages by thread and double-clicking on a thread, it opens
every message in the thread in a new tab.
However, since I last updated Thunderbird, it does not open the latest message
and instead opens the first message twice (one time correctly and a second time
at the end with a messed up character encoding).

I could also reproduce on Ubuntu so this is probably an upstream issue but I
could not find it on Bugzilla.

Regards,

Bug#909566: printer-driver-gutenprint: Page cut when printing on both sides

2018-09-25 Thread Pierre Rudloff
Package: printer-driver-gutenprint

Hello,

I am using a Canon MG3250 printer. When printing on only one side, everything
works correctly.
But when I enable printing on both sides, the printer prints the first page at
a wrong position and the top of the content is cut. The second page is then
printed correctly.

The driver used is "Canon MG3200 series - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.11".
I was previously using the upstream cnijfilter driver (downloaded from Canon's
website) and did not have this problem.

Bug#901217: rarcrack strips during make install

rarcrack strips during make install by passing -s to install. This
causes:
  * Cross compilation failure as the build architecture strip is used.
  * DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS=nostrip does not work.
  * No useful -dbgsym package is generated.

The attached patch fixes all of them. Please consider applying it.

this makes sense, thanks.
So the review goes to the next step.
1) licenses are missing (even if not used in the binary package, the copyright
should list all the licenses in the source code).
2) please use the same copyright as upstream for Debian packaging, this will
make
patch upstreaming possible without having to explicitly relicense them

I think you can upload the debug symbols from the Debian build to crash-

Bug#741487: mozjpeg 2.1 package

2016-11-21 Thread Pierre Rudloff

Le 21/11/2016 à 23:27, Dmitry Katsubo a écrit :

The question is: if I need to install mozjpeg together with libjpeg, what are
the
options? Do I need to change the prefix to /usr/local for mozjpeg, and then use

$ LD_PRELOAD=/usr/local/lib/libjpeg.so jpegtran -copy all

By default mozjpeg is installed in /opt/mozjpeg/. You don't even need to
use LD_PRELOAD as the binary it installs is automatically linked to
/opt/mozjpeg/lib64/libjpeg.so.

(The conflict issue I was raising is only if want to include mozjpeg in
Debian and install it in /usr/.)

Hello,

I have built a package for mozjpeg 2.1:
http://mentors.debian.net/package/mozjpeg

But, as I said, it conflicts with the standard libjpeg.

Regards,

Hello Pierre,

Could you please share the mozjpeg Debian package sources (with debian/control,
... files)? For example as a branch in github? That will simplify creating a
package to play with for me.

Also I wonder what exactly the conflict with the standard libjpeg leads to. Does
it mean that if mozjpeg is installed to /usr/local subtree it will interfere
with software that uses libjpeg?

Many thanks in advance!

Hello,

Sorry, I don't have the source anymore (and it has been removed from
mentors) but it is pretty easy to build.

IIRC mozjpeg installs its own libjpeg.so library so it can't be
installed alongside upstream libjpeg.

I suppose it is because Fira Code uses ligatures.

It used to work fine but now when I try to print, it fails with this error
"Filter failed".

I tried to use the officiel Canon driver (cnijfilter) instead of the Gutenprint
one but it gives the same error.

Bug#792531: base: When I plug my mouse, I can't focus another window anymore

2015-07-15 Thread Pierre Rudloff
Package: base
Severity: normal

Hello,

When I plug my Mad Catz Rat 7 mouse, I can't click on everything outside the
currently focused window. The application with focus still accept mouse clicks,
but every other apps or desktop manager elements ignores clicks.

If I switch to another TTY screen then switch back to my desktop, everything
works fine.

Bug#784054: RFP: libgcrypt11 -- LGPL Crypto library

2015-05-02 Thread Pierre Rudloff
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

Hello,

It seems libgcrypt11 has been removed from Jessie. But it is needed by external
packages like Spotify (cf. https://community.spotify.com/t5/Help-Desktop-Linux-
Mac-and/spotify-error-while-loading-shared-libraries-libgcrypt-
so-11/td-p/970485) or Brackets.

I tried to rebuild the Wheezy package on Jessie
(http://mentors.debian.net/package/libgcrypt11) and it seems to work correctly.

Would it be possible to reintegrate this package in Jessie?

Bug#774298: iceweasel: Bad performances on Youtube

2014-12-31 Thread Pierre Rudloff
Package: iceweasel
Version: 36.0~a2+20141212004002-1~bpo70+1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

Youtube now defaults to the HTML5 player on Firefox Aurora.
With this player, I get really bad performances on IceWeasel 36.0a2. The video
is not smooth at all and it it makes the whole tab lag, especially when I mouse
my mouse over the video.

I can reproduce in safe mode.
I can't reproduce with upstream builds (Firefox Developer Edition 36.0a2).

Regards,

You can consult any copyright in Debian packages to see an example.
You can use these:

http://metadata.ftp-master.debian.org/changelogs/main/n/netmate/unstable_copyright

http://metadata.ftp-master.debian.org/changelogs/main/e/ext4magic/unstable_copyright

I edited the copyright file. Is it OK now?

The format is right now. However, you must to list all upstream
authors and licenses in d/copyright. See the second example above
(ext4magic). You can use this command to help you: 'grep -sriA25
copyright *'.

6. I have added a generic README.source about quilt. Is this OK?

No. My idea was talk about the original debian directory removed
from
upstream code.

I've added a sentence explaining this. Is this enough? (There is no
special
step needed, as dpkg-source -x takes care of replacing the debian
folder.)

Yes. Perfect.

The original debian/ is removed by dpkg-source when unpacking 3.0 (quilt)
packages, please read dpkg-source(1), "Format: 3.0 (quilt)".
You should document in README.source only things required to be done
manually after unpacking the package, see
