Bug#493862: blender: tiling WM startup error

2008-08-05 Thread Sladan
Package: blender
Version: 2.46+dfsg-3
Severity: normal

I use Wmii as window manager and threre are Nvidia drivers installed (for an
8600GT).
When I start Blender, it is displayed fullscreen and I can't click menus with
the mouse.
Tthe pointer moves but clicking does nothing within the Blender window, except
the
splash image disappears when left-clicking (which usually happens as soon as
you move
the mouse after Blender startup).

I have to either toggle fullscreen or managed space for Blender in order to use
Blender
normally. These two commands are Wmii specific (Modkey+F=toggle full screen and
Modkey+SPACE=toggle managed space). After doing one of these commands Blender
is fine.

Blender usually starts without borders but starting it with 'blender -w'
doesn't change
anything. This (-w) option should cause Blender to start in managed space like
all
application windows do which don't have a specified size (everything but
pop-ups). I'm
not sure if this is a seperate issue.

Regards,
Sladan

Bug#493862: Wmii's fault

2008-08-05 Thread Sladan

Hi!

I figured it maybe a Blender issue since Wmii doesn't really do anything
special I'd guess. If an application forces a specified size, then it
will be treated like a popup window. Other full screen 2D, 3D and SDL
applications don't have a problem with Wmii either.
The -w option should let Blender behave like any other application at
least. Also this border issue occurs in Gnome too IIRC (I had it in Ubuntu).

Sladan

Bug#493862: previous bugreport

2008-08-05 Thread Sladan

Hi!

I didnt want to clutter the bugreport.About the link you provided: I
haven't had a problem with TVtime anymore. I don't use xfmedia anymore
but I think these were related to Nvidia drivers since I saw something
similar (one pixel high video window) on their forums and xfmedia didn't
have the issue anymore in the end.

It might be Nvidia related.

Sladan

Bug#492964: grub-pc: cross install Windows: invalid identifier

2008-07-30 Thread Sladan
Package: grub-pc
Version: 1.96+20080724-2
Severity: normal

I did grub-install sda and selecting Windows in the Grub2 menu returns
invalid identifier. When selecting Linux after trying Windows it returns you
have to load a kernel first. I can boot Linux after a reboot and Linux is
always OK whithout trying the Windows entry first.
Windows is on sda3 (SATA) and Linux on hda2 (PATA). In the console it says
root=hd1,2 when Linux works. It's root=hd1,3 after trying the Windows entry.

Bug#491872: grub-pc: dual boot needs OS-prober

2008-07-22 Thread Sladan
Package: grub-pc
Version: 1.96+20080704-2
Severity: normal

Hi!
I need OS-prober in order to get an entry for Windows, which is on
another harddrive, in the Grub2 menu. This should be pointed out to a
new user or the package should be recommended by Grub-pc since by
default it would get installed automatically by Aptitude then.

Bug#483120: sunflow: Sun's Java works

2008-06-06 Thread Sladan Ristic
Package: sunflow
Version: 0.07.2.dfsg-2
Followup-For: Bug #483120

Hi,

Sorry, I didn't read the Readme carefully.
I wasn't aware of the GJC. I tried again and neither Janino nor GJC
work. Both only give a grey window.
I used GJC without knowing it so the errors appeared with that. The
console errors didn't happen everytime. Often you just get the grey
window. However when they appear, the window also contains broken GUI
elements. I only got that when starting Sunflow from CLI.
Thank you very much for pointing out that Sun's Java 6 does work.

Bug#483311: radio: won't find stations properly

2008-05-28 Thread Sladan Ristic
Package: radio
Version: 3.95.dfsg.1-8
Severity: important

Hi,

-s doesn't work and therefore -i too (#279093).
While scanning it shows the frequency and signal strentgh I guess? For
me that second number varies from six to about thirty. The high numbers
are where stations are according to frequency.
After typing radio -c /dev/radio0 -s radio outputs:
baseline at 6.10
Station 0: 87.60 MHz - 6.60
Station 1: 88.00 MHz - 6.60
Station 2: 89.70 MHz - 6.60
Station 3: 98.85 MHz - 6.60
Station 4: 99.10 MHz - 6.60
tuned 87.60 MHz
Actually the first station is at 87.70 and while scanning the second
nuber is 32.00 and I can tune in manually and do hear radio. The scan
didn't catch that.
I have cable network radio and use an Asus Mycinema 7131 (Philips 7134
driver). Tvtime works fine for example. I geuss it looks for strentgh
above 50.00?

Sladi

Bug#410895: blender: Wmii

2008-05-20 Thread Sladan Ristic
Package: blender
Version: 2.45-5

Hi!

I get the same error (no borders possible) when using Wmii as windowmanager.
Dwm works
fine though.

I use an Nvidia 8600GT with proprietary drivers (169.12).

If possible, for tiling windowmanagers like these borders should be
enabled by default.
