Bug#1074129: lyx: Hard coded path to xslt proc prevent Lyx to find it
Package: lyx Version: 2.4.0-1 Severity: important Tags: upstream patch Dear Maintainer, At first start (or reconfigure option) Lyx look for xslt proc path. Bug#996977: kbd-chooser: can't chose keyboard variant keymap
Hello Samuel Le 21.10.2021 23:15, Samuel Thibault a écrit : Hello, Xavier Brochard, le jeu. 21 oct. 2021 21:09:26 +0200, a ecrit: I allways use a keyboard variant. While installing Debian 11, the only keyboard layout offered was the most common in my language (French Azerty). Yes, we do not want to clutter the menu with various variant choices for each and every language. May be I don't remember, but I think it was possible to chose a variant on the ncurse UI in "advanced" mode (at the lower priority options). but it breaks security during install as user is unable to type a good password. Why? You can install in french with a different keyboard layout for whatever reasons : being in another country or using a variant layout like Dvorak or Bépo (my case). It is thus very hard to find characters different from numbers or french alphabet. Actually, it was difficult for me to type identical password 2 times, and then I was unable to type the same password at the login prompt. It happened on 2 or 3 installations until I decided to type only numbers in the password. Xavier

Package: libkf5mailtransportakonadi5 Version: 17.12.3-1 Severity: normal File: akonadi Dear Maintainer, One IMAP Akonadi agent try forever, without success, to read the password from Kwallet. User has rejected Kwallet access for this Agent." (which I haven't). It allways happens at the session launch. But sometimes nothing happens for the entire day. The bug begins after last major update. I tried without success to : - disabling email checking for this IMAP account (even after Akonadi or session restart) ; - erasing password : Akonadi ask for the password and then try forever to read it ; - restarting Akonadi ; - restarting session. The emails are all stored locally for offline reading. Launching Kmail, I can read and browse emails from this "faulty" account. Just in case, the IMAP account is from free.fr, the two others are from gmail and OVH. Furthermore : - I would expect Akonadi to not try to connect if email checking is disabled. - The whole KDE desktop became unusable as all menus and pop-up flickers on access. Not a big problem, as you guys allways does a good job! But I would like to suggest this improvement: - Entering Rescue Mode, d-i ask for root file system, displaying a list of partition without further informations. The choice is not easy, as you can't exactly remember what you've done a few minutes (hours) before. A few informations, like size, label, filesystem type would help a lot. May be d-i should launch partitioner before rescue mode, in a "safe mode" like (not allowing changes), because its screen gives every informations one need.

Bug#705786: disagree...
Hello I disagree. There is no reason to add such very specific and advanced shortcut in a tool that is supposed to be used by normal users. I too add my own shortcuts to Konqueror because it is what advanced users are supposed to do. Current Debian shortcuts are all related to packages (package and backport search, bug reports search), which looks reasonable for normal users. Bug#671932: bug to be closed soon
Following is a comment from Nik Lutz (veromix maintainer): -- I think I experienced the same problem (in ubuntu) multiple times during updates to newer kde versions. The bug you are referring to is from 2012 and I'am sure python plasmoids worked shortly after that (else there would be more reports). According to http://packages.qa.debian.org/k/kde-workspace.html there where several new package-uploads to debian testing during the last month I belive that they where built/linked against an older python version, or python-scriptengine-python was built/linked against an older version of kde. Most probably this problem gets solved during the next weeks - in the meantime you could try to build kde-workspace yourself (in case you have enough time and diskspace: apt-get source kde-workspace ; apt-get build-dep kde-workspace; cd kde-workspace ; dpkg-buildpackage -b) -- Xavier -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#642532: linux-image-2.6.32-5-486: usbcore crash, making keyboard and mouse unusable Package: linux-2.6 Version: 2.6.32-35 Severity: important
Package: linux-image-2.6.32-5-486 Version: 2.6.32-35 We are using Debian LTSP with Geode based thin-client (which are Artec Thincan DBE-63). Bug#633890: [linux-2.6] kernel oops while disconnecting usb cdrom
Package: linux-2.6 Version: 2.6.39-3 Severity: normal Hello Using latest kde4.6.4 with Dolphin, I was copying a Debian DVD iso image from the system hard drive to a usb connected hardrive. I plugged a USB DVD Writer, opened the tray, inserted an empty DVD-RW, closed the tray, then unplugged the USB DVD Writer. This immediatly result in a kernel oops (I guess), syslog displayed full-screen, crash of Dolphin and interrupted copy (but not reported by notification system). Display return normal after a few second (and me playing with Alt+Fn). In case this is relevant, the usb hard drive is formated with ext2. Any > feedback, please let me know, we will follow it. > > Thanks, > Hunk Cui I'm very sorry, I can see that Martin-Eric asked several time if this bug apply to new packages but I totally forgot to follow this bug that I reported. After some brief testing and asking to users: - we revert the package to version 2.10.1-2 - I've removed one Geode client (Thincan DBE62D-700) where we have had difficulties to do a Bios update in 2009. After that: - nobody seems to remember about a freeze - even if it happened, it didn't happened more than 1 or 2 time in one year with 3 Geode client in use. From my point of view this bug was more a hardware than software bug and _can be closed_. But I can do some test next week, with the removed Geode client, if you want. regards and awfully sorry for being so late to answer Xavier xav...@alternatif.org - 09 54 06 16 26 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#539178: xserver-xorg-video-geode: complete freeze of a geode client (thincan DBE61)
Package: xserver-xorg-video-geode Version: 2.11.1-1~bpo50+1 Severity: critical Justification: breaks the whole system Hello, I use LTSP 5 on Debian Lenny. clients are good old PC working perfectly and 4 Thincan DBE62. The Thincan DBE62 randomly freeze several time a day. The freeze happened randomly, using Iceweasel (mozilla seamonkey), kmail, openoffice, konqueror, Adobe's flash, ... even with screensaver. The Thincan DBE-62 has a Geode LX700 microprocessor and 256 MB of ram. Exact model is DBE62D-700 - see http://wiki.thincan.org/DBE62 We don't use flat-screen (I changed that in the Thincan's bios but it has no effect). I have tried various solutions suggested on the web (including from Martin-Eric Racine blog and Launchpad.net bug reports), even if it has little simlilarity with my problem, but nothing works. The chroot is up to date (last lenny packages), geode driver is the last one fom backports.org (xserver-xorg-video-geode 2.11.1-1~bpo50+1), but previous packages were freezing the system also.
