Bug#675095: empathy: No possibility to answer/accept a (SIP) call.

2012-05-29 Thread wiekaltheut
Package: empathy
Version: 3.4.2.1-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

I have one SIP account configured. If somebody calls
me, I hear the ringtone, but there seems to be no
possibility to accept the call. No Shell notification
or a button in the Empathy window (contact list, etc.).

Or is this just do to the current transition of Gnome 3.4?

Thanks.

Bug#650711: Similar issue using a local Qemu/KVM and Spice/QXL

2011-12-03 Thread wiekaltheut
Hi,

I'm running Debian Testing (up-to-date) on both, the vm and the host. During
the start, there is no problem. But from time to time (every 10 minutes or so),
the GUI hangs. And in a way, that the Gnome 3 (Gnome Shell) desktop is also
badly affected. It still runs, but I can no longer switch windows. I need
switch to a tty and kill the virt-manager process. After that, the desktop is
as it was before and I can restart virt-manager. The VM seems to be not
affected at all.

When running virt-manager with „--debug“, there is no new output after the GUI
hangs. It only reads the viewer has connected via Spice.

Any Idea?

Bug#648618: empathy: Fails to reconnect after awake from suspend.

2011-11-13 Thread wiekaltheut
Package: empathy
Version: 3.2.1.1-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

Empathy fails to automatically reconnect after the machine awakes
from suspend mode. If I just disconnect the network connection
without suspending the machine, it reconnects. But after suspend,
I need to manually set the status to available. No matter if it is
a WLAN or Ethernet connection.

Bug#605706: empathy: No audio/video chat at all

2011-11-13 Thread wiekaltheut
Hi,

I can not establish a audio/video chat with any of my contacts (Gmail and
others). Most of them use Pidgin. The error message is:

If I also use Pidgin on my side, it works. I get this error on all of my

It certainly should not affect the Ethernet adapter.

I recommend that you do not use the acpi_osi=Linux parameter. Please
report the problem with eeepc-laptop at http://bugzilla.kernel.org,
under product 'ACPI', component 'Platform Drivers'. Let us know the bug
number so that we can track it.

 Hmm,

it looks similar to amixer. Which driver version are you running?

 $ cat /proc/asound/version

It is 1.0.21.

or run at least 1.0.21 provided from kernel 2.6.32. This version
 should do the job.

I'm running the current 2.6.32 kernel from testing.

2.6.32-9, from sid. Also can you say what was the last kernel version
in which the Ethernet driver worked on this computer?

It seems to be still present. But I just realized that if I boot with activated
*W*LAN eth0 is available, if I boot with deactivated WLAN eth0 is not
available. Is the kill switch also for the Ethernet adapter? =)

Using the kill switch on runtime seems to only kill the WLAN but not the

Bug#573607: linux-image-2.6-686: No eth0 on EeePC 1005ha with acpi_osi=Linux

2010-03-12 Thread wiekaltheut
Subject: linux-image-2.6-686: No eth0 on EeePC 1005ha with acpi_osi=Linux
Package: linux-image-2.6-686
Severity: important

If I add acpi_osi=Linux to the kernel command line as mentioned in the wiki
(http://wiki.debian.org/DebianEeePC/Model/1005HA), the module eeepc-laptop gets
loaded, but I can not use the Ethernet card anymore. There is no eth0. Wireless
seems to work fine and I can use the kill switch.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Bug#573610: linux-image-2.6-686: Bluetooth on EeePC 1005ha not usable

2010-03-12 Thread wiekaltheut
Subject: linux-image-2.6-686: Bluetooth of EeePC 1005ha not usable
Package: linux-image-2.6-686
Severity: important

The built-in Bluetooth dongle of the EeePC 1005ha seems to be not usable. If I
add acpi_osi=Linux to the kernel command line, there is a kill switch, but I
can not turn the device on. The LED (for WLAN and Bluetooth) is turning on and
off, if I try to turn the device on and off. Turning the device on and off in
the BIOS seems to have the same effect as with the kill switch.

Using an external USB Bluetooth dongle works fine.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Bug#573607: linux-image-2.6-686: No eth0 on EeePC 1005ha with acpi_osi=Linux

2010-03-12 Thread wiekaltheut
Please try the latest kernel package, linux-image-2.6.32-3-686 version
 2.6.32-9, from sid.

Ok, I will try.

Also can you say what was the last kernel version
in which the Ethernet driver worked on this computer?

Ethernet works fine with 2.6.32-5 from testing,
as long as I don't add acpi_osi=Linux. This is the
only kernel I have used on that netbook. Without
acpi_osi=Linux, the fn keys and the WLAN kill
switch are not usable.

Bluetooth is not usable at all, as mentioned in Bug#573610.

Bug#566284: eeepc-acpi-scripts: Blank-Screen function seems to conflict with gnome-power-manager.

2010-01-22 Thread wiekaltheut
Subject: eeepc-acpi-scripts: Blank-Screen function seems to conflict with
gnome-power-manager.
Package: eeepc-acpi-scripts
Severity: normal

If I press the Blank-Screen key while gnome-power-manager is active/running,
the screen just goes blank for about 10-15 seconds and comes back again. After
stopping gnome-power-manager and pressing the key again, the screen stays black.

May this be the dim-on-idle feature of gnome-power-manager?

2010-01-02 Thread wiekaltheut
Is the CA root certificate visible in Evolution certificate store?

In Edit/Preferences/Certificates/Authorities none were listed. I've added the
ones I need and it solved the problem.

An idea what went wrong. I don't deleted the list, at least I can't remember.

Bug#526551: 2.6.30-rc4 seems to be not as stable as first thought

2009-05-09 Thread wiekaltheut
2.6.30-rc4 seems to be not as stable as first thought. It still hangs on wakeup
from stand-by mode, when the rt2860sta driver was used.
