I installed 8.17.1-1 from http://snapshot.debian.org/ With this version and no configuration change, smtp auth works as ever. Thanks! What was the reason for uploading it to exprimental instead of unstable? Uh, and just for curiousity, I see nothing explicitly related to auth or sasl in the changelogs. Do you have any idea? Bug#1009078: sasl auth via saslauthd does not work anymore
Package: sendmail Version: 8.16.1-2 With the current sendmail in testing, my incoming smtp auth configuration does not work anymore. I get log lines AUTH warning: no mechanisms Last known good version is 8.15.2-23 Relevant config snippets include sendmail.mc: TRUST_AUTH_MECH(`PLAIN LOGIN')dnl define(`confAUTH_MECHANISMS', `PLAIN LOGIN')dnl define(`confAUTH_OPTIONS', `A p y')dnl /etc/sasl2/Sendmail.conf : auto_transition: no pwcheck_method: saslauthd mech_list: PLAIN LOGIN with 8.15.2-23, I got logs like STARTTLS=server, cert-subject=, cert-issuer=, verifymsg=ok AUTH: available mech=PLAIN LOGIN, allowed mech=PLAIN LOGIN I'd be happy for any hints on how to debug this further.
