Bug#307722: reoccurrence

2007-03-12 Thread Luca Deri
Ola,
I have added a fix in CVS. Can you please check if it works for you?

How do you build the Debian ntop package? Do you have some new packaging
files I should add to the CVS repository.

Cheers, Luca

 Hello,

this bug seems to have reoccurred in the meantime. ntop 3:3.2-10 causes

exactly the same problems as described in the original post:

 Interesting.

**WARNING** GDVERCHK: Unable to load gd, message is 'libgd.so: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directory'

 /usr/lib/libgd.so.2 is in: libs/libgd2-noxpm, libs/libgd2-xpm
 /usr/lib/libgd.so is in: oldlibs/libgd-noxpm-dev, libdevel/libgd2-xpm-dev,
 libdevel/libgd2-noxpm-dev, oldlibs/libgd-xpm-dev

Luca, can you take a look at http://bugs.debian.org/307722. At some point
I think you have given me some indication that this have been fixed in
version 3.2. However I may mistaken and I do not have the mails (I think)
 from that time.

Nice! Where did you add that? If you tell which CVS version it was added
I could check it myself.

How do you build the Debian ntop package? Do you have some new packaging

I take the latest released version and apply the debian specific changes.
This means that I add a debian directory, where the instructions are to
build Debian packages.

Because ntop and Debian do not have the same release plan I prefer to have
them separated.

After that I run
dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot

And after a while I have a working (hopefully) package.

In this case I assume that I will backport it to 3.2 version of ntop
and test on that version.

Regards,

// Ola

I have added the fix right now. Actually the error message was
misleading and that code (added by Burton) IMHO was not necessary as it
was making silly assumptions.

Please refresh the CVS now (I have committed right now)

I see that initialize.c was changed now. I'll check that.

Ok do like this:

wget newupstream-3.3pre0.tar.gz
apt-get source ntop
cd ntop-3.2
uupdate -u ../newupstream-3.3pre0.tar.gz (if any rejected patches, determine
why)
cd ../ntop-3.3pre0
emacs debian/changelog (verify that the version number is ok)
dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot

If you are missing some build dependencies do:
apt-get build-dep ntop
