Bug#308632: mozilla-thunderbird: relocation error calling xmlTextReaderConstName in libgnomevfs-2.so.0
Alexander Sack wrote: When loading certain mails, mozilla-thunderbird crashes with the following message: --- /usr/lib/mozilla-thunderbird/mozilla-thunderbird-bin: relocation error: /usr/lib/libgnomevfs-2.so.0: undefined symbol: xmlTextReaderConstName --- Sorry, I cannot reproduce it. I have exactly the same gnome package installed and added the example mail you provided to my imap server. Thanks for the quick reply! Sorry, i totally misinterpreted that error message. Turns out my actual problem is simply a duplicate of bug #294129, and not related/specific to thunderbird at all. It does show an oddity in thunderbird, however: the bug is triggered (deterministically) whenever i click on the mail. However, when I change the content-type from `application/octet-stream' to something else, the bug is not triggered anymore. Isn't that strange, given that I haven't clicked the attachment itself in either case? Kind regards Arnout -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Bug#308632: mozilla-thunderbird: relocation error calling xmlTextReaderConstName in libgnomevfs-2.so.0
tags 308632 + unreproducible thanks When loading certain mails, mozilla-thunderbird crashes with the following message: --- /usr/lib/mozilla-thunderbird/mozilla-thunderbird-bin: relocation error: /usr/lib/libgnomevfs-2.so.0: undefined symbol: xmlTextReaderConstName --- /usr/lib/libgnomevfs-2.so.0 is in package libgnomevfs2-0, my version: Sorry, I cannot reproduce it. I have exactly the same gnome package installed and added the example mail you provided to my imap server. Let's see if someone else can reproduce it. Maybe it might help if you provide more info on the mail server you use and if you have more example mails. Is the error deterministic or happens from time to time? Something else would be to check if you have any special handlers set for some mime-types or is it all the default configuration? Another idea to track this down would be to check if this happens because you have not all gnome libraries installed? Do you run a full gnome install? Or did you install the vfs package accidentially/intentionally alone? Maybe check if gnome-2 and gconf-2 are installed too. Anything else that is special about your system (e.g. self-compiled libs, crazy compiler options, etc.)? -- GPG messages preferred. | .''`. ** Debian GNU/Linux ** Alexander Sack| : :' : The universal [EMAIL PROTECTED] | `. `' Operating System http://www.asoftsite.org | `-http://www.debian.org/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe.
