Bug#329197: postgresql-7.4: Still fails on mips

2005-10-13 Thread Simon Farnsworth
Package: postgresql-7.4
Version: 1:7.4.9-1
Followup-For: Bug #329197

This bug still occurs on mips; I've upgraded it from testing to unstable with:
apt-get install postgresql-7.4/unstable libpq3/unstable

Looks like it may be the new MIPS locking code.

Bug#329197: postgresql-7.4: Still fails on mips

2005-10-13 Thread Martin Pitt
Hi Simon!

Simon Farnsworth [2005-10-13 9:08 +0100]:

I'm aware of this problem. I did a series of test builds on a MIPS
machine which were pretty frustrating: There was not a single success
in about 10 combinations I tried: compiling with gcc 3.3 or 4.0,
building 7.4 or 8.0, building with -O0 or -O2, building with or
without the new locking code, building with or without Debian patches,
building with or without --disable-spinlocks. From that I almost get
the impression that this has never worked at all...

I talked with upstream about this, maybe somebody finds a solution.
