Bug#332438: no hint on config file format anywhere

2005-10-06 Thread richard . wonka

Package: pkgsync
Version: 1.3

---%---
$ \aptitude show pkgsync
Package: pkgsync
State: installed
Automatically installed: no
Version: 1.3
[...]
---%---

I can't find any hint on how to write
a list of 'must have', 'may have' or 'must not have' packages.
Or is /etc/pkgsync supposed to be a
directory?
There is no default, nor any example
configuration available.
not even google got me anything.
How do people use it??

Greetings,

Richard
P.S.: sorry about the footer, can't
help it.

Oops, sorry, yes.

Note that pkgsync is a shell script (pkgsync2 might change that, though), so
you don't have to strace to find out what it does :-)

I always like to find /usr/share/doc/pkgname/examples - that's the best
 help for me. :-)

Mm. I'll keep the bug open, so I won't forget to get around to it.

/etc/pkgsync/{musthave,mayhave,mustnothave} (yes, /etc/pkgsync is a
directory) are just newline-separated lists of packages. You have a good
point, though -- the documentation could be a lot more explicit about it.
