Bug#345929: Problem with xserver-xorg_6.9.0.dfsg.1-1_i386.deb with ATI Technologies IncM22 [Radeon Mobility M300]

2007-06-20 Thread Nils
 Hi,

About a year ago, you reported (or replied to) a bug in the Debian BTS
regarding Xorg 6.9 not working with the ATI driver. Did any of you guys
reproduce this problem recently? With Xorg/Etch? With latest
xserver-xorg-core and drivers? If not, I will close this bug in the next
 weeks.

 Thanks,
 Brice

Hi,

you can close the bug.
I use xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:6.6.192-1 from experimental, because it's seems
to be stable and faster as xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:6.6.3-5 at my system.

Nils

Oh, I had completely forgotten this bug. It has been, for my case, fixed
by reverting to the previous xorg package for about a month or two, and
then one day it was fixed. No problem with my ATI since then.

lspci output, for the record :
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV350 [Mobility Radeon
9600 M10]

I use the radeon driver.

Actually, I'm using the Xorg ATI driver successfully with unstable now (forced
to by #420842 et al), and OpenGL seems to work OK too.

No problem with this driver since about X.Org 7.0.

For me, this bug can be closed.

Greetings,

Fred

the screen but 100% of the cpu is taken. With the same xorg.conf but
with version 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 X works
