Bug#385484: evolution: Does not update inbox after deleting messages or receiving new mail
I'm pretty sure this bug is in evolution-exchange rather than evolution itself -- downgrading evolution-exchange to 2.6.2-3 makes things work properly again (without any downgrades of evolution or evolution-data-server needed). Bug#385484: evolution: Does not update inbox after deleting messages or receiving new mail
Package: evolution Version: 2.6.3-2 Followup-For: Bug #385484 I also see this bug since I upgraded from 2.6.2-4. I'm running Evolution with the Exchange connector, too. (The symptoms are the same: only the folder tree view is updated on new mail/deleting/moving mail, but not the mailbox display pane.) I'm not 100% sure, but a similar problem existed in some prior version of Evolution (I can't recall the version number, but it was this year in testing), that somehow got fixed. norbi -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.16 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=hu_HU (charmap=ISO-8859-2) Versions of packages evolution depends on: ii dbus 0.92-2simple interprocess messaging syst ii evolution-common 2.6.3-2 architecture independent files for ii evolution-data-server 1.6.3-1+b1evolution database backend server ii gconf2 2.14.0-4 GNOME configuration database syste ii gnome-icon-theme 2.14.2-2 GNOME Desktop icon theme ii gtkhtml3.8 3.10.3-1 HTML rendering/editing library - b ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.17-1 Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libatk1.0-01.12.2-1 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libaudiofile0 0.2.6-6 Open-source version of SGI's audio ii libavahi-client3 0.6.13-3 Avahi client library ii libavahi-common3 0.6.13-3 Avahi common library ii libavahi-glib1 0.6.13-3 Avahi glib integration library ii libbonobo2-0 2.14.0-1 Bonobo CORBA interfaces library ii libbonoboui2-0 2.14.0-4 The Bonobo UI library ii libc6 2.3.6.ds1-4 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libcairo2 1.2.4-1 The Cairo 2D vector graphics libra ii libcamel1.2-8 1.6.3-1+b1The Evolution MIME message handlin ii libdbus-1-30.92-2simple interprocess messaging syst ii libdbus-glib-1-2 0.71-2simple interprocess messaging syst ii libebook1.2-5 1.6.3-1+b1Client library for evolution addre ii libecal1.2-6 1.6.3-1+b1Client library for evolution calen ii libedataserver1.2-71.6.3-1+b1Utility library for evolution data ii libedataserverui1.2-6 1.6.3-1+b1GUI utility library for evolution ii libegroupwise1.2-101.6.3-1+b1Client library for accessing group ii libesd00.2.36-3 Enlightened Sound Daemon - Shared ii libexchange-storage1.2-1 1.6.3-1+b1Backend library for evolution cale ii libfontconfig1 2.4.1-2 generic font configuration library ii libfreetype6 2.2.1-5 FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libgconf2-42.14.0-4 GNOME configuration database syste ii libgcrypt111.2.3-2 LGPL Crypto library - runtime libr ii libglade2-01:2.6.0-2 library to load .glade files at ru ii libglib2.0-0 2.12.3-2 The GLib library of C routines ii libgnome-keyring0 0.4.9-1 GNOME keyring services library ii libgnome-pilot22.0.14-0.1Support libraries for gnome-pilot ii libgnome2-02.14.1-3 The GNOME 2 library - runtime file ii libgnomecanvas2-0 2.14.0-2 A powerful object-oriented display ii libgnomeprint2.2-0 2.12.1-6 The GNOME 2.2 print architecture - ii libgnomeprintui2.2-0 2.12.1-4 GNOME 2.2 print architecture User ii libgnomeui-0 2.14.1-2 The GNOME 2 libraries (User Interf ii libgnomevfs2-0 2.14.2-2+b1 GNOME virtual file-system (runtime ii libgnutls131.4.4-1 the GNU TLS library - runtime libr ii libgpg-error0 1.4-1 library for common error values an ii libgtk2.0-02.8.20-1 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libgtkhtml3.8-15 3.10.3-1 HTML rendering/editing library - r ii libhal10.5.7.1-2 Hardware Abstraction Layer - share ii libice61:1.0.1-2 X11 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libjpeg62 6b-13 The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii libldap2 2.1.30-13+b1 OpenLDAP libraries ii libnm-glib00.6.4-3+b1network management framework (GLib ii libnotify1 0.4.2-1+b1sends desktop notifications to a n ii libnspr4-0d1.8.0.5-4.2 NetScape Portable Runtime Library ii libnss3-0d 1.8.0.5-4.2 Network Security Service libraries ii liborbit2 1:2.14.0-2libraries for ORBit2 - a CORBA ORB ii libpango1.0-0 1.12.4-1 Layout and rendering of

I am also seeing this bug with Fedora Core 5 RPMs: evolution-data-server-1.6.3-1.fc5.2 evolution-devel-2.6.3-1.fc5.5 evolution-webcal-2.4.1-3.4 evolution-2.6.3-1.fc5.5 evolution-connector-2.6.3-1.fc5.1 so it's not specific to Debian. This page from Novell (http://www.novell.com/support/search.do?cmd=displayKCdocType=kcexternalId=3770799sliceId=SAL_PublicdialogID=13471269stateId=0%200%2013469777) seems to describe the same issue (although with version 2.6.0) and provides a link to an RPM that supposedly fixes it however I assume it's set up for SuSE because I couldn't get it to work for me. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. I'm also seeing this problem. Running Evolution with the exchange connector, and it was working fine until I upgraded to 2.6.3-1. At that stage I started to see new mail appearing in the folder tree view, but not in the mailbox display pane. So I'd end up with the folder view telling me I had 5 new messages, but no way to get at them. Quitting evolution and restarting it made them available in the message window, but nothing else did. Downgrading to these packages has worked around it for me. -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2390404 2006-08-29 14:22 evolution_2.6.2-4_i386.deb -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 9979080 2006-08-29 14:22 evolution-common_2.6.2-4_all.deb -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 632802 2006-08-29 14:22 evolution-exchange_2.6.2-3_i386.deb All other packages listed below are these same as those installed when the bug was visible, with 2.6.3 installed. Bug#385484: evolution: Does not update inbox after deleting messages or receiving new mail
Package: evolution Version: 2.6.3-1 Severity: important After upgrading to 2.6.3-1, Evolution does not update the inbox when new mail is received, except the summary in the folder list which correctly shows that there are new messages. Also, after deleting a message, the message is shown with the strikethrough, but is not removed from the inbox list, even after an expunge. pressing Send/Receive does not update, nor does changing folders. A restart of evolution is required before the folder will update. Note: I am using Evolution-exchange, so this problem may be related to that component rather than evolution, but I'm not sure so I'm filing the bug here. Please re-assign if you think this is an exchange connector issue. I'm using evolution-exchange version 2.6.3-1. Jason Martens This is still a problem. After Evolution has been open for a while, the inbox is no longer updated (although the new mail count in the folder list is). The only solution is to close evo and start it again. Jason -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
