What's the next step? Take a look at http://debian.wgdd.de/debian/incoming/packages/debian-xml-sgml/. The package has been uploaded more than a week ago and it is currently waiting to be uploaded by my sponsor. The package does not yet have the DM-Upload-Allowed flag set (this upload sets the flag), so this package must be sponsored. I fixed it in the package before uploading. On a quad-opteron (but the quad- part probably doesn't matter), it takes more than 10 hours! Which makes it the longest package to build (even Openoffice takes less time). Do you have an idea to improve the situation? I recently blogged [1] about it and the -gcj packages with native code, that will speed up the build, are currently prepared (libsaxon-java-gcj is in NEW and docbook-xsl-saxon is one of my own packages ... so I'm just waiting for a response from the libxml-commons-resolver1.1-java maintainers). Hi Daniel, I don't mean to push you, but it seems that both #458247 and #458248 are fixed now. Can I help you with something? Actually, this bug is quite important for me. If it was solved (and another bug on latex-cjk-chinese-arphic was solved too), it would allow me to rebuild all packages in Debian in less than 5 hours using a computing cluster. -- | Lucas Nussbaum | [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.lucas-nussbaum.net/ | | jabber: [EMAIL PROTECTED] GPG: 1024D/023B3F4F | -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Hi, NEW is usually processed on week-ends, so it's better to have it uploaded before. If nothing happens by saturday morning, I could upload it very early on saturday, before leaving for the week-end. Keep me updated :-) Actually, this bug is quite important for me. If it was solved (and another bug on latex-cjk-chinese-arphic was solved too), it would allow me to rebuild all packages in Debian in less than 5 hours using a computing cluster. Well, even after uploading of the new docbook-xslsaxon package, you will have to wait, until the ftp-masters have approved it, because it adds the necessary docbook-xsl-saxon-gcj package. But when this is the case, I just need to upload docbook-defguide, where the necessary changes already have been done (debian-xml-sagml SVN). Cool! don't hesitate to ping me if you need a sponsor for this as well. -- | Lucas Nussbaum | [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.lucas-nussbaum.net/ | | jabber: [EMAIL PROTECTED] GPG: 1024D/023B3F4F | -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. The other solution would be to use the non-free Sun Java or waiting for IcedTea, which is not yet packaged. Have you considered supporting parallel build (see #209008)? Will check this too.
