 I have tested 2.0.0.9-1 + this:
  * pass host arch information to configure and trust the supplied
architecture information. Thanks to Bastian Blank. (Closes: 445959)
  - update debian/rules
  - add debian/patches/arch-detect
  - update debian/patches/autoconf2.13-rerun
  - update debian/patches/series

 icedove doesn't start.

I found the same change in iceowl, and iceowl doesn't start (#460547).

Now I'll rebuild icedove 2.0.0.9-1 on my ibook to see if it still works.

I have rebuild 2.0.0.9-1 from source package. It works on my ibook.
So I think the cause of this bug #460406 is the arch-detect change
 introduced
 in 2.0.0.9-2.

OK, thanks for doing this. Please try to use 2.0.0.9-3 and just drop
the --host=... line from debian/rules ... does that help?

No. Same bug if I only drop the --host=... line from debian/rules

OK, but removing --host= line + removing the arch-detect patch from
debian/patches/series probably fixes this, right?

 Hi,

Icedove 2.0.0.9-3 doesn't start on my ibook G4 (powerpc). I see no
 output (no error message).
 Version 2.0.0.9-1 works fine.

Pleaes see the changelog and if possible try to trace down the
regression by outcommenting patches in debian/patches/series et al. I
have no ppc arch and thus cannot really work on ppc issues. So any
help appreciated.
