Bug#483564: [Pkg-xfce-devel] Bug#483564: Bug#483564: reassign?

2008-09-30 Thread Alexandre Rossi
Then feel free to reassign :)

For CONFIG_PREEMPT related things, the advice[1] seems to be : deal
with upstream directly. Upstream knows[2] about this, so I won't
bother the Kernel team with this unless they use CONFIG_PREEMPT=y ,
which won't be in the near future.

Well, as CONFIG_PREMPT is not used, I don't think kernel team will do
anything about this. But you can try. I think you'd better report the
bug upstream, if it's not already done.

If it is fixed in 2.6.27rc1, as said above, I do not need to.

And I guess that the kernel team has more important things to do than
fixing stuff that does not trigger in linux-image-* ...

But I'm still very interested in the fix for this ;)

For the record, the maybe fix[1] on top of 2.6.26.5 does not work for
me. I think there is more stuff involved.

Then feel free to reassign :)

I only use debian kernel so I'm not sure.

Both reverting to 2.6.25 or upgrading to 2.6.27rc1 improve things a
lot though, as I can only trigger the bug with bash reverse search, a
long line, and over SSH if that matters. No more problems with less
and co.
