is obex-data-server installed? Yes, 0.3.4-1 During last update, I saw that bluetooth, bluez and couple of others got updated to 4.40-1, but still no change. Indeed, I'd like to upload updated bluez-gnome and obex-data-server ASAP. And I'd like to update to the latest :) Anyhow, if launched as root does bluetooth-applet work? Funny thing is that, absolutely noting happens, either you run it as root or as regular user.
