Bug#531734: gnome-terminal do not start because gconf daemon not found
I have the same error. As a workaround, I launch another application which uses the daemon. For example launching iceweasel makes the problem go away. this doesn't work for me, I try to load some of "these" applications but still failing. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#531734: gnome-terminal do not start because gconf daemon not found
In my case, it happens when I try to launch gnome-teminal through 'su(x)'. Here is an example: ptomulik@:$sux - common Password: com...@tea:~$ gnome-terminal Failed to contact the GConf daemon; exiting. It doesn''t happen, when I run gnome-terminal directly from my account. -- Paweł Tomulik Instytut Techniki Lotniczej i Mechaniki Stosowanej Politechnika Warszawska -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
