Bug#531734: gnome-terminal do not start because gconf daemon not found

2009-06-10 Thread alex

I have the same error. As a workaround, I launch another application
which uses the daemon. For example launching iceweasel makes the
problem go away.

this doesn't work for me, I try to load some of "these"
applications but still failing.

Bug#531734: gnome-terminal do not start because gconf daemon not found

2009-06-05 Thread Pawel Tomulik

In my case, it happens when I try to launch gnome-teminal
through 'su(x)'. Here is an example:

ptomulik@:$sux - common
Password:
com...@tea:~$ gnome-terminal
Failed to contact the GConf daemon; exiting.

It doesn''t happen, when I run gnome-terminal
directly from my account.
