I should add to this that it was not properly orphaned since I was under
the impression it was going to get re-adopted straight away. Rendering an
extra upload just to change the maintainer, a waste of resources.

Hi Salvatore, thanks for your quick feedback.

Don't worry about the timing, I felt free to ping you because I got the
impression that the adoption did not happen yet simply because there
were some kind of "after you, after you" impasse in actually doing
that. I'm not interested in maintaining mathgl, I've stepped in just
because it was RC buggy and not properly orphaned. Not that that
"urgencies" are settled, I believe you can take your time to adopt it.

Cheers.

I'm still intrested in it, as it is a dependency of udav. However I'm
sorry, I did not had that time in last months for learning first how
to work around with packaging in the debian-science Team (git repos),
and I did not arrived yet to the point to have a package ready, thus.

It would be on the other side great to have updated mathgl and udav
packages before squeeze freeze. But at the moment I cannot say if I
can be able to prepare uploads for these two packages, since I'm
already 'busy' with my main interest, the Debian Perl Group
packagings.

Stefano, or some others, if you would like to update the mathgl
package to the current upstream version, help would be welcome!

Bests
Salvatore

I've fixed it with a QA upload I've just done.
Full diff is attached.

Well, the package was orphaned already (even though the old maintainer
did not do the needed upload setting the maintainer to QA), the
interested people could just have taken the package already.

I'm adding to the Cc of this mail the volunteers: Salvatore, Manuel, are
you still interested in taking over mathgl maintenance? If so, go ahead,
the package is all yours :-)

Cheers.

Bug#574025: mathgl: Please sitch to octave3.2 or drop the dependency altogether

2010-03-15 Thread Thomas Weber
Package: mathgl
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

Hi,

I want to get rid of octave3.0 for Squeeze. The attached patch should
suffice. However, given that you are currently building mathgl.oct, but
not *shipping* it in any .deb package, you might as well just drop
octave3.0-headers from debian/control.

Thanks
Thomas
