Bug#705959: Intel i210/i217 Ethernet adapters (igb drivers)

2014-04-15 Thread Markus Schade
retitle 705959 backport e1000e/igb driver for i354, i210, i217 and i218
notfound 705959 3.13
thanks

According to the changelog of 3.2.57⁻1 which Ben uploaded to
proposed-updates/stable-new, there is still no mentioning of a fix.

That means wheezy now lacks support for i210/i211 and i217, and the
newer i218 and i354 as well.

Best regards,
Markus

Bug#705959: Intel i210/i217 Ethernet adapters (igb drivers)

2013-04-22 Thread Markus Schade

Package: linux
Version: 3.2.41-2
Severity: wishlist

in the current wheezy kernel there is no support for the Intel i210 and
the Intel i217 NIC, which will ship on many of the upcoming Haswell
mainboards.

It would be nice, given the pending release of wheezy, to have out of
the box support for these NIC once Haswell mainboards become available.

Initial support was added mostly upstream kernel 3.5

http://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=2fbe4526e5aafc9ffa5d85fa4749a7c5b22af6b2

a number of further patches further refined the initial support.

Best regards,
Markus
