Bug#722580: udev (or consolekit) breaks fuse (encfs)

[...] If everything gets bad, I can upgrade the system one time and give you a ssh account (with opening the firewall and all together). But as I wrote, that would break my mail completely so I would have this as last recourse. But from the fact that the mount of the controll fs was not done automatically, I think that the bug might be related to that the new udev not realize that fuse module is loaded. For Information, I have kernel 3.9.4 in use; just if the kernel makes any different. The Debian kernel has that option set (obviously). You'll need to enable that option and also make sure devtmpfs is mounted. Usuallly that is done by the initramfs. In your case, you'll also want to enable CONFIG_DEVTMPFS_MOUNT. Michael signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature

Julien suggested a preinst check like 'if ! grep -q devtmpfs /proc/filesystems; then echo go away; exit 1; fi' and a jessie-tagged bug against release-notes to warn people with selfcompiled kernels. We could also also show a debconf warning. udev already has the debconf machinery setup so maybe we just need to extend those templates. Michael signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature
