When people understand what a 64/32bit system is, yes. On https://www.debian.org/CD/http-ftp/#stable It is still written "amd64" vs "i386", people will think "I don't have an amd64, I have an intel", and download the i386 image. > And if such message was not implemented in the past 10 years, > it will also not be implemented in the next 10 years :-) Not really 10 years, rather 4 years. But yes, some features don't get implemented, that doesn't mean they shouldn't. At some point we won't have 32bit ports of Debian, but before that we will still have people making the confusion. My thought was, that 64 bit systems are common these days and people will more likely choose the 64 bit images. If that is the wrong one, they get the error message about that and they will try the 32 bit one. Many years ago, it was the apposite: people would choose the 32 bit image if unsure, and that could lead to the problem addressed with this report. And if such message was not implemented in the past 10 years, it will also not be implemented in the next 10 years :-) Therefore I think this bug can be closed. Control: reopen 842626 Hello, Debian Bug Tracking System, le sam. 22 août 2020 20:33:55 +, a ecrit: > If you know, that the issue you reported (and gets closed here) is still > existing > in recent installation images, please file a new report for that! I don't think we need a new report on this one, but just reopen it, since it already has all useful information whatever the Debian release?
