Bug#843257: No GTK style

2016-11-17 Thread felipe
Package: qt5-style-plugins
Version: 5.0.0-1+b4
Followup-For: Bug #843257

Dear Maintainer,

The gtk2 style has been ported from qt5.6 as a style plugin.

It is already available in the qt repository (
https://github.com/qt/qtstyleplugins/tree/master/src/plugins/styles ).

If I compile from source with this patch, qt5 apps inherit the gtk2 style
correctly.

Since the package that provided this feature has been removed from most
architectures in sid ( libqt5libqgtk2 ) I believe this patch should be merged
so qt5 apps can look good again.

Bug#843257: No GTK style

2016-11-05 Thread Yuri D'Elia

Package: qt5-style-plugins
Severity: important

Dear maintainer,

Qt 5.7 doesn't support the GTK style anymore. The qt5-gtk-themeplatform is next
to useless (what I care about is consistency between widgets!).

It looks like the qt5ct package (ITP #822246) could still make use of use the
gtk2 style, which has unfortunately been removed.

I don't use KDE, which is basically required for the 3 plasma themes also
sharing some GTK themes. To get consistency between gtk2/gtk3, you have to go
for unpackaged themes (such as Numix, or Arch-Theme), which provide decent
uniformity. QML even adds a completely different look and behavior, that
makes me cringe in all platforms I've used it on, ESPECIALLY on the desktop.
This is INSANE.

As a developer, providing something that integrates nicely is important.
Even though I understand the logic here, the GTK+ style is important
cross-platform widget set. Please build the GTK2 style.
