Bug#949622: proftpd on buster
hi, I think this is an important package to get updated in stable, or via the volatile updates repo. The one that is in stable now only works on very few clients. Hopefully the release managers agree. yes, this is not a security fix but a package that cannot be used at all is not very usefull. So i think this should be pushed in the repo for users to be able to stay in debian. Thansk for all the works of all of you ! regards, Ghislain.
Bug#949622: proftpd on buster
Hi Hilmar Am 19.03.2020 um 09:30 teilte Ronny Aasen mit: Hi Ronny, I have the same problem on all buster / debian 10 installs. 80-90% of users are unable to connect. I'm aware of this. I've built new packages for stretch and buster, there are on: https://freeshell.de/~hille42/proftpd/1.3.5b-4+deb9u5/ https://freeshell.de/~hille42/proftpd/1.3.6-4+deb10u5/ They are for amd64, if you need other arches: I've provided the source packages too. Unfortunately this is the only thing I can do in the moment. I've opened #953647 [n| | ] [release.debian.org] #953745 [n| | ] [release.debian.org] to have these packages integrated in next point release of Debian, but there is no progress until now. I have tried these packages on 3 separate debian 10 installations and they seem to work nicely. I have not talked to any users that are still unable to connect. I think this is an important package to get updated in stable, or via the volatile updates repo. The one that is in stable now only works on very few clients. Hopefully the release managers agree. Thank you! Ronny Aasen
