> It seems pdfarranger could not deal with it. That's a pity. Indeed. Even version 1.6.2 (the latest) cannot. May be 1.7.0 will (may be not). In the meantime you have to decrypt the pdf file with another tool (ex: qpdf), before importing it in pdfarranger. > So the bug is a combination of wrong LANG handling and missing feature, > I think. Yes there is a mismatch in the german translation but 1.1.1 is old so I (I'm the upstream) won't fix it.

It behaves different. Now I see a error message: "File ... is encrypted. Support for encrypted files has not been implemented yet. File export failed." and no saved file. I inspect it: $ pdfinfo Projekte/ziphona_tuerkis/schematic.pdf Title: www.radiomuseum.org: Ziphona Türkis 524/1 Subject: www.radiomuseum.org: Ziphona Türkis 524/1 Keywords: radiomuseum.org, schema, Ziphona Türkis 524/1 Author: Wolfgang Eckardt Creator: Erik Schanze Producer: OpenPDF 1.1.0 CreationDate: Sat Dec 5 15:02:49 2020 CET ModDate: Sat Dec 5 15:02:49 2020 CET Tagged: no UserProperties: no Suspects: no Form: none JavaScript: no Pages: 2 Encrypted: yes (print:yes copy:no change:no addNotes:no algorithm:AES) Page size: 595 x 842 pts (A4) Page rot: 90 File size: 235236 bytes Optimized: no PDF version: 1.4 It seems pdfarranger could not deal with it. That's a pity. So the bug is a combination of wrong LANG handling and missing feature, I think. What is the behavior with export LANG=C ?

Hi Jerome, thank you for the quick reply. Yes you are right, the first part of my report is a duplicate of #954033. Sorry for that. But the second part of my report still does not work after installing python3-gi-cairo package. If I tried to save altered PDF file I got a error message dialog: "not all arguments converted during string formatting" and file will not be saved. It seems to be a different problem. Do you have also a solution for that? Best regards, Erik Am 05.12.20 um 18:20 schrieb Jerome Robert: > Hi Erik, > > You are missing the python3-gi-cairo package.
