3 days with multiple suspend, poweroff cycles. The issue did not occur
again.
Please close the bug!

I have TLP installed. This could be a trigger ... will take a look.
Now running for an hour or so, without suspend or similar. Nothing in
the logs until now.

I will keep the laptop powered on and have a look every once in a while
in the logs. As soon as it pops up, you'll get it :).

Maybe you have laptop-mode-tools or something similar installed. l-m-
t
is known to do weird stuff.

Michael

I have TLP installed. This could be a trigger ... will take a look.
Now running for an hour or so, without suspend or similar. Nothing in
the logs until now.

Please uninstall tlp and see if that helps

Ok, we need a journal log from when the problem shows up.

This is a first bug report I made @Debian.
What other info is needed?

So, systemd-udevd is not trying to read from acpi-cpufreq, but the
acpi-cpufreq kernel module is attempted to be loaded, afaics

The message you see is from libkmod used in
https://salsa.debian.org/systemd-team/systemd/-/blob/debian/master/src/shared/module-util.c#L34
I wouldn't consider this a bug in systemd though.

Can you provide a journal log after a fresh reboot showing the problem
(journalctl -alb as root).

Hi Michael,

thank you for a fast response.

The default Debian kernel from backports is using the built-in driver
intel_pstate driver for Intel i5 CPU, so systemd-udevd should look for
the frequency information there and not in the not used module
acpi_cpufreq.

systemd-udevd does not care about the "frequency information".
Maybe the error message above is just a result of the (wrong) cpufreq
driver being (auto)loaded. In which case, this is more likely to be a
kernel issue.

As said, this bug is not really actionable without more information.
