Hi,

Thank you for confirming my list subscription. Shame the old smartlist email
confirmation was/is
not working as expected.

There has been no traffic since April. I hope maybe Mike can kick off by
referencing his blog post
of today and start the ball rolling.

Regards

Phil

Hi,

I have tried twice over the last week to subscribe to this list. I get the
"Subscription request
processed" page, but do not get a confirmation email to be actioned as
expected. This leaves me not
knowing if the subscription has been processed at all.

Regards

Bug#988464: New mailing list: debian-enterprise

2021-05-13 Thread Mike Gabriel
Package: lists.debian.org
Severity: wishlist

Dear list admins,

Please provide a new discussion mailing list for people with focus on
enterprise usage of Debian.

Name: debian-enterprise (@lists.d.o)
Rationale:

Recently, various DDs (most of them self-employed or working in IT
enterprise context, see X-Debbugs-Cc field) started discussing about
challenges of advertising Debian to enterprise IT managers.

Compared to Enterprise Linux distributions, Debian often has a
sub-optimal standpoint, because there is not enterprise support
coverage for the Debian distribution available. Or at least, not
(yet) scalable for the really big enterprises.

We would like to change this (or at least discuss the current situation,
but also improve things, if possible).

Furthermore, a debian-enterprise mailing list could also become
a first contact point for people not known where else to go to.

Short description: Debian Enterprise
   or: Debian for the Enterprise
   or: Debian and Enterprise Linux

Category: Misc
or: Users (if Misc is inappropriate)

Subscription Policy: open

Web Archive: yes

Moving existing mailing lists to lists.debian.org:

no, this shall be a new mailing list

Thanks,
Mike
