Bug#598655: unblock: otrs2/2.4.8+dfsg1-1

2010-10-15 Thread Luk Claes
 Please unblock package otrs2

It fixes some security relevant bugs and many other upstream bugs, no new
 features or something like that.

The package already has been aged and the CVE ids it fixes are
CVE-2010-2080
and CVE-2010-3476, they are not mentioned in the changelog, because I
have uploaded
the package before I have noticed the cve id/it gets some.

The debdiff is bloated, because of a little fault of upstream, so
please use the
 patches from:
 http://lists.debian.org/debian-release/2010/09/msg01530.html

What fault are you talking about?

Why is fckeditor included in the package? What changes are there in the
code base of fckeditor and is that still worth not using the fckeditor
already in the archive?

Cheers

Luk

Bug#584457: Announce of an upcoming upload for the conserver package

2010-10-15 Thread Christian PERRIER
Dear maintainer of conserver and Debian translators,

Some days ago, I sent a notice to the maintainer of the conserver Debian
package, mentioning the status of at least one old po-debconf translation
update in the BTS.

The package maintainer and I agreed for a translation update round. At
the end of this period, I will send him|her a full patch so that
an l10n upload can happen.
The full planned schedule is available at the end of this mail.

The package is currently translated to:
cs da de es eu fi fr gl nl pt pt_BR ru sv

Among these, the following translations are incomplete: none

If you did any of the, currently incomplete, translations you will get
ANOTHER mail with the translation to update.

Other translators also have the opportunity to create new translations
for this package. Once completed, please send them as a bug report
against the conserver package so I can incorporate them in the build.

The deadline for receiving updates and new translations is Tuesday, October 19,
2010. If you
are not in time you can always send your translation to the BTS.

The POT file is attached to this mail.

Schedule:

Sunday, October 10, 2010 : send the first intent to NMU notice to
 the package maintainer.
Friday, October 15, 2010 : send this notice
Tuesday, October 19, 2010 : (midnight) deadline for receiving
translation updates
Wednesday, October 20, 2010 : Send a summary to the maintainer.
Maintainer uploads
 when possible.

Thanks for your efforts and time.

Bug#270099: getfacl doesn't show setuid/setgid/sticky bits

2010-10-15 Thread Andras Korn
Hi,

I just tried what Markus Steinborn tried and it seems to work for me (i.e.
the setuid bit isn't lost):

 # ls -l passwd

 # cat passwd.acl
# file: passwd
# owner: root
# group: root

group::r-x
other::r-x

 # setfacl --restore passwd.acl
 # ls -l passwd
-rwsr-xr-x 1 root root 43280 Sep 26 15:59 passwd*

I'm using acl version 2.2.49-4, fwiw.

I believe this bug is fixed.

Ok, I see. I prepared a package for squeeze and asked for
freeze exception, but since there are in total three bugs I am not
 sure it will be included.

Your work is much appreciated - even if it doesn't get a freeze
exception, Emdebian has a way of ensuring that this fix is available
for Emdebian installations. It's not ideal to have Emdebian Squeeze
with one package slightly ahead of Debian Squeeze but problems like this
are inevitable when debugging installation methods.

Bug#510130: fdisk: Error calculing volhdr partition boundaries on SGI disklabel (Debian patch)

2010-10-15 Thread Jari Aalto

Hi LaMont,

Would you check this Debian patch and comment if it's okay (or already
included in Git repository) so that this grave bug could be closed.

Thanks,
Jari

From: Aurelien Jarno aurel...@aurel32.net
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=510130

While I agree with the analysis, the patch looks more like a workaround
than a real solution. The problem is that when free space doesn't start
on a cylinder boundary (the case for the free space after the volume
header), there might be less than one cylinder to create a partition.
The code to ask for partition boundaries is using cylinders (probably
because partition start should be cylinder aligned) and thus doesn't
cope with this issue.

The patch below fixes the issue by making sure free space always starts
as a cylinder boundary, as anyway that's the only possible location to
create a new partition.

Bug#598655: unblock: otrs2/2.4.8+dfsg1-1

Am 15.10.2010 08:02, schrieb Luk Claes:

Please unblock package otrs2

It fixes some security relevant bugs and many other upstream bugs, no new
features or something like that.

The package already has been aged and the CVE ids it fixes are

CVE-2010-2080

and CVE-2010-3476, they are not mentioned in the changelog, because I

have uploaded

the package before I have noticed the cve id/it gets some.

The debdiff is bloated, because of a little fault of upstream, so

please use the

patches from:
http://lists.debian.org/debian-release/2010/09/msg01530.html

What fault are you talking about?

e.g. http://lists.debian.org/debian-release/2010/09/msg01296.html
I crawled myself through the full diff and found out, that upstream
tried to update the fckeditor, but reverted the change, because it is
not working so well with newer IE and Chrome browsers and the diff
blowed up, because of whitespace changes..

This produced a diff with 50k lines or something like this.

I have attached a cleaned up diff of 2.4.7 = 2.4.8:
70 files changed, 1891 insertions(+), 593 deletions(-)

For fixing two CVEs and a big bunch of other errors, it is small :)
Upstream changelog:
http://lists.debian.org/debian-release/2010/09/msg01296.html

Why is fckeditor included in the package? What changes are there in the
code base of fckeditor and is that still worth not using the fckeditor
already in the archive?

Yeah that is another building site :/ I already tried to port otrs to
the fckeditor version of Debian, but without success:

http://packages.debian.org/changelogs/pool/main/o/otrs2/current/changelog#versionversion2.4.5-4

I also patched out libjs-yui from otrs a few weeks ago with the
consequence, that the dashboard statistics are not useable anymore.. And
breaking the editor (as you can think a quite important feature) again
before we release - I think this would be a bad idea.

Much thanks for taking care of otrs!

Yes, I noticed that when committing other files..:-(

I asked for a fixed set of filesand am more or less waiting for
them..:-)

Didn't you get my tarball on Wednesday ?
Think my ISP screwed up an upgrade for their mail-server

mail gets unread etc). So back to basic FTP:

They are all supposed to be UTF-8 ?

Very sorry for the inconvenience.

Bug#600262: apt: random_sleep should not be executed if anacron has started the cron.daily script

2010-10-15 Thread Teodor
Package: apt
Version: 0.8.6
Severity: wishlist
Tags: patch

Hi,

Currently a 'random_sleep' function is implemented in /etc/cron.daily/apt to
avoid
a DoS on the mirrors. However, on desktop and workstation systems the script is
not
executed at 6:xx in the morning but later at random times after boot by anacron.
The reason is simple, these systems are not up all the time.

Please apply this patch to avoid 'random_sleep' if the script was started by
anacron.

Bug#600264: libemail-outlook-message-perl: Missing dependencies

2010-10-15 Thread Matijs van Zuijlen
Package: libemail-outlook-message-perl
Version: 0.910-1
Severity: normal

Hi,

I'm the developer of this Perl module. So, first of all, thank you for
getting my software into Debian.

Now to the meat of this bug report: The libemail-outlook-message-perl
package is missing some dependencies needed for Email::Outlook::Message to
work.

Adding libole-storage-lite-perl and libemail-mime-creator-perl should be
enough.

See also the debian branch of the module's GitHub repository:

  http://github.com/mvz/email-outlook-message-perl/tree/debian

(But I did just notice that it requires a bit more than is actually needed;
In particular libemail-mime-modifier-perl is not needed anymore, and
libemail-simple-perl is automatically installed through
libemail-mime-creator-perl).

Kind Regards,
Matijs van Zuijlen

I checked with upstream who confirmed that this was fixed as part of

I just wanted to point out that the proposed patch (or at least the

Can we get that patch included so xm new works when using XenAPI?

Additionally I noticed that create.dtd is missing from the Debian
package. We might want to include that in our packages.

I don't think it's appropriate to switch to source format 3.0 for the

change during the freeze.

Besides, the file debian/patches/series is missing.

Plone developers explicitly suggests the use of the Unified Installer for
Linux and they consider it their (only) supported deployment platform.

For this reason, together with the complexity of the distribution of the
last versions of Plone, shipped as several python eggs with strict
versioned dependencies, led to the request of removal from unstable of the
Plone package.

As suggested by upstream, the recommended tool for installing Plone on a
Debian system is the Unified Installer, which is downloadable from
http://plone.org.

Is this text enough?

Bug#600266: iceweasel: Should display documents with type text/x-diff in the browser

2010-10-15 Thread Petter Reinholdtsen

Package: iceweasel
Version: 3.0.6-3
Severity: normal

This is a usability issue. When using Opera and visiting a page like
URL:http://packages.qa.debian.org/e/etckeeper.html with links to a
patch file (the ubuntu patch in this case), Iceweasel fail to show the
patch when I click on the link. Instead it show a popup asking me to
either save the file or pick some application to display it with.
When I do the same with Opera, the browser display the text file, and
I would like Iceweasel to do the same.

The content type of the patch is text/x-diff, as can be seen from this
demonstration:

I experience this problem with Debian/Lenny, but tested it in Squeeze

Bug#599922: dictionaries-common: merge upstream changes to .el files

I assume that having these files in dictionaries-common is a conscious
decision, although having the same files as shipped by Emacs etc seems
 somewhat confusing and potentially risky.

They follow those in FSF Emacs trunk, so they are usually way more recent
than those shipped whith normal Emacs releases. They are also patched to
work with XEmacs and to provide a common interface to *spell to all emacsen
flavours in Debian. Currently, they will even work with emacs21.3 and
emacs22. There is a two way interaction between dictionaries-common and FSF
Emacs repo, I sometimes test things first in Debian before committing to the
upstream Emacs repo.

I plan to remove support for emacs21 and emacs22 as soon as squeeze is
released. I would like to commit all XEmacs compatibility stuff to FSF Emacs
bzr repo, to decrease the number of Debian specific stuff, but need first to
remove/adapt all the older emacsen stuff. A further target is to generalize
the steps needed for Debian integration and see if they can also be put
upstream in a reasonable way, so we can get rid of extra {i,fly}spell.el
files in some flavours, but this would make disappear the benefits of using
updated trunk code.

 (Witness also
 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dictionaries-common/+bug/619015
-- a change in emacs23 causes dictionaries-common's flyspell to break.
Because of that, I hesitantly set the bug severity to Normal rather than
 Minor or Wishlist.)

Fix is available for nearly two months, way before Ubuntu maverick is
released. Do not know why 1.5.12, which only contains that fix, was not
allowed into Ubuntu maverick.

Thanks for testing, even if the versions were wrong.

Recommends are installed by default, i.e. you need to explicitly tell apt(itude)
to not install ppp, so this is usually only something for people who know what
they are doing.
I also updated the package description and explained what ppp is useful for.
(if you have suggestions how this can be improved, please let me know).
Why did you choose to not install ppp in the first place?

Most users don't need ppp and Recommends gives them the flexibility to uninstall
it. Making it a hard depends makes that impossible.

And not that it matters much, but on Ubuntu, ppp is also a Recommends.

Bug#463738: gtk-qt-engine: Emacs doesn't show LaTeX files in AUCTeX's LaTeX mode

2010-10-15 Thread Braun Gábor
Package: gtk-qt-engine

When starting emacs to load a LaTeX file, it is not fontified
and shown in Fundamental mode.
Typing M-x LaTeX-mode returns an error:
Invalid face height 0.0.
Typing M-x LaTeX-mode again the buffer switches to LaTeX mode.

Starting emacs as LC_NUMERIC=C emacs file.tex
the problem does not occur.

These are my own experience and
the above link describes the same problem, I guess,
I don't know for sure that it is gtk-qt-engine's fault but
I have this problem only recently and have installed the package
again recently.

You can also find the opinion of the mantainer of AUCTeX in the
following link, let me copy the relevant part:

quote
[LC_NUMERIC=C] will affect every program started from within Emacs as
well. I am not clear what code is responsible for this: the problem is
likely because either scanf or printf or its equivalents use , instead of
. in numbers.

Whether this happens inside of Emacs proper or in GTK, I don't know. In
general, you rarely want LC_NUMERIC to be different from C for
_anything_. Programming languages and libraries and utilities break
because programmers hardly ever expect that the equivalent of
printf(%4.2f,3.0) would result in 3,00 in foreign locales.

Hi Don,

Please upgrade libthreads-shared-perl to 1.33 (at least; upstream has released

I need 1.33 for the upcoming padre 0.72 release.

threads::shared is a Perl core module, but 1.33 is available in 5.13.0 or

Thanks for considering.

As always, the Debian Perl Group is willing to take over existing perl module
packages and welcomes new members who wish to share the maintenance burden (in
any direction :))

This is probably due to your python-qt4 version (4.7.4) which is
somewhat incompatible with the one in unstable (4.7.3). I'm downgrading
the bugreport as the dependencies you installed are not even in unstable.

Bug#599943: closed by Jérémy Lal kapo...@melix.org (Bug#599943: fixed in redmine 1.0.2-2)

2010-10-15 Thread Raoul Bhatia [IPAX]
hi,

i saw your patch disable-deprecations.patch and installed redmine
1.0.2-2 from http://packages.qa.debian.org/r/redmine.html

first of all, /usr/share/redmine/config/environments/production.rb does
not include your patch. maybe there's a build error?

second, if i manually add
  Gem::Dependency.warned_version_requirement = true

to /usr/share/redmine/config/environments/production.rb and issue the
command, the warning is still issued.

i *think* tracked it down (and please bear in mind, that i do not know
anything about ruby or rails. so please forgive me for using wrong
terms here)

/usr/share/redmine/config/environment.rb:44 (somehow) calls process
from /usr/share/rails-ruby1.8/railties/lib/initializer.rb:

 def process
   Rails.configuration = configuration

   check_ruby_version
   install_gem_spec_stubs
   set_load_path
   add_gem_load_paths
^ gems warning is issued here

   require_frameworks
   set_autoload_paths
   add_plugin_load_paths
   load_environment
^ your environment options are loaded here.

   preload_frameworks

so i think that this patch is useless because it must happen before
the call to add_gem_load_paths is made.

thanks,
raoul

Uh, something is going wrong, here. You should be prompted for the

Bug#600272: fail2ban: must add charset header on all notifications

2010-10-15 Thread Teodor
Package: fail2ban
Version: 0.8.3-2sid1
Severity: important

Hi,

Some whois queries are returning data in UTF-8 and are not displayed properly
by the email client because it is missing this header:
  Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8

Please add this header to at least messages that contain DNS queries. Probably
by adding it to all notifications it will be easier and I don't think it will
have any bad side effects.

Thanks

Package: xserver-xorg-video-radeon

(This is related to #565344 that was closed because of too many
issues inside a single report.)

I sometimes get nothing but a mouse cursor and a black screen when I
resume the machine from suspend to disk. This happens quite rarely,
but when it does it is pretty annoying.

Workaround: blindly unlock gnome-screensaver, and run the following
command in a terminal :

xgamma -gamma 1.0

hardware: Thinkpad X32 (Radeon Mobility M6 LY)

KMS disabled (as hibernation is broken on my hardware with KMS

That has solved it. Now getting around 27MB/s write on ext4 and 97MB/s
read with the experimental kernel. I'm happy with these speeds on this
hardware. It is still a little slower then with windows but I can live
 with that.

Good, but I'm concerned as to why 2.6.32 is so much worse.  Since that
will be the kernel version in Debian 6.0 I want to make sure it does
 perform well.

I'd be happy to test some fixes to 2.6.32 to find the source of the
problem if there is anything you want me to try.

May be able to get better by tuning read-ahead buffer and
vm.dirty_ratio. Do you think there is any merit in adjusting these?

I don't know; this isn't my area of expertise.

Hi Teodor,

I think I found the bug. But you can help me confirm this (and solve the
problem for the time being). Could you try this (on the server config):

Change:
push route remote_host 255.255.255.255 net_gateway
To:
push route OPENVPN_REMOTE_PEER 255.255.255.255 net_gateway

Seems there's something wrong with 'remote_host'. I'll check the source
now.

Thanks,

Alberto

Bug#583919: virtualbox-ose: Network packet loss between host and guest

2010-10-15 Thread Roland Mas
Roland Mas, 2010-05-31 18:48:11 +0200 :

 Package: virtualbox-ose
 Version: 3.2.0-dfsg-1
 Severity: normal

My VirtualBox instances have recently started losing incoming packets
from the host after about 2 MB transmitted. I'm using dput to upload
packages from the Sid host to a Lenny guest, so several files are
uploaded in succession through SCP. Small files get transmitted almost
instantaneously, as expected, but larger ones seem to get the first 2 MB
transmitted in an initial burst, then the rest goes very slowly (typical
 transfer speeds around 30 kB/s).

This still happens with 3.2.10-dfsg-1, but only on IPv6. IPv4 doesn't
seem to lose packets. I don't remember trying v4 on this problem
previously, so the difference in treatment are not necessarily recent.

Roland.

In this case, reportbug shouldn't have asked for the bug number

No, because it might not be the bug you're looking for. I now see the

Hello,

My locale is fr, and thus mumble uses the french translations of
messages. However, the speech synthesis engine is still using english,
thus saying french text with a pure english accent. mumble should switch
the espeak language according to whether the text it wants to speak got
translated or not.

Bug#551802: gdm: still fails to manage remote utmp records correctly

2010-10-15 Thread Maximiliano Curia
Package: gdm
Version: 2.20.11-2
Severity: normal

As reported in lenny's version, gdm tries to manage the utmp record setting the
id of the record to be the first part of display name, the id is defined to be
4 bytes long, and the display name for xdmcp clients is of the form
ip:display_number, so, xdmcp users in the same /8 network end up overwriting
the other user utmp record.

On the other hand, if the id is a sequence of '\0', the id field is not used
as a unique identifier, but the line field is. Since the line field is long
enough to hold a ip:display_number, the attached patch uses this idea to avoid
the collisions.

Bug#600137: closed by David Paleino da...@debian.org (Bug#600137: fixed in josm-plugins 0.0.svn23479-2)

2010-10-15 Thread Jason Woofenden
Thank you David!

webkit-image-gtk works in josm! I've never seen that before.

The update-alternatives think works like a charm.

I like the idea of putting webkit-image-gtk first to avoid the qt
libraries, but in my (brief) tests, webkit-image-gtk does not work
as well. It seems like perhaps webkit-image-gtk doesn't retry
connections or something Here's what I see sometimes:

1) tiles that are completely white (except for the yahoo logo in
the corner)

2) tiles with small square areas in them white (but the rest of the
tile his good satelite image in it.

3) Tiles that say unable to load page problem occured while
loading the URL http://josm[...] Cannot connect to destination
with a try again

The first two I'd guess are resulting from webkit-image-gtk
rendering and exiting before the page has loaded completely.

I have not seen any of the above with webkit-image-qt.

Anybody else have similar experience?

To test, you can install both, and switch the downloader setting
in the WMS tab of the josm preferences. You'll need to delete the
WMS layer and create a new one for the change to take effect (I
assume).

Thank you, - Jason

P.S. The funny part, is that when the error message is scaled by
josm's nearest neighbor algorithm, it looks like it says
destinator (YMMV).

Bug#600280: keyboard-configuration: Setting a compose key with the debconf question does not set a compose key

2010-10-15 Thread Maik Zumstrull
Package: keyboard-configuration
Version: 1.56
Severity: normal

The subject will mostly have to do, because I don't understand the keyboard
setup stuff anywhere near well enough to have any idea what's going wrong. All
I know is, I set Right Logo to be Compose with dpkg-reconfigure and it didn't
work, set it again and it didn't work, and rebooted and it still does not work.
I've made sure to set GNOME to not touch the X server keyboard settings, but I
can't promise that it doesn't fiddle with them anyway.

Bug#551802: gdm: still fails to manage remote utmp records correctly

2010-10-15 Thread Josselin Mouette
Le vendredi 15 octobre 2010 à 09:23 -0300, Maximiliano Curia a écrit :
As reported in lenny's version, gdm tries to manage the utmp record setting
 the
id of the record to be the first part of display name, the id is defined to be
4 bytes long, and the display name for xdmcp clients is of the form
ip:display_number, so, xdmcp users in the same /8 network end up overwriting
 the other user utmp record.

On the other hand, if the id is a sequence of '\0', the id field is not used
as a unique identifier, but the line field is. Since the line field is long
enough to hold a ip:display_number, the attached patch uses this idea to avoid
 the collisions.

The gdm package is only here to handle upgrades from lenny. Could you
test again with gdm3?

Thanks,

No, only support for source files and .deb components is enabled by

Bug#600281: linux-image-2.6.26-2-sparc64: networks halt after a few weeks on TULIP DAVICOM DM9102, NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0: transmit timed out

I am using a Sun Fire V100 with Debian Lenny. It was OK for a few weeks, then
suddenly it was not possible to access it from SSH: connexion timed

I couldn't get physical access, so asked someone to reboot it. After that I had

I committed a fix that I think fixes this. The debian package is way
old and contains all kinds of issues, you guys really should update to
the latest cvs version. I'll roll a new snapshot in a few days.

It’s usually preferred to only package released tarballs, so once you
have published a new snapshot, drop me a line so I can update the
package.

Once an updated package is ready, I’ll need to have Dmitry and Hannes
test it and confirm whether the bug is gone. If that is the case, we might
be able to get a freeze exception.

In fact, the package in Debian is so outdated only because squeeze froze
just a few days before my sponsor had a chance to upload 0.9.25.

but it seems you're the first one to ask on the BTS.

 Thanks

Version: 3:3.3.8b-5+b1
Severity: normal

*** Please type your report below this line ***

Using debian lenny, kde 3.5. My default font is serif, since I have
deleted dejavu and bistream fonts from the default installation, serif
default to Nimbus Roman No9 L. I have set several substitute fonts, some
of them Sazanami Mincho and Arpic Uming CN. But on websites some chinese
and japanese characters are displayed as empty rectangle boxes, the
problem is fixed when I set the default font in Konqueror to
Sazanami/Arpic.
I have set the two asian fonts as substitutes for Nimbus Roman No9 L as
well, but nevertheless the substitutes do not seem to be used by the
default serif one.

Bug#600088: Clamav crashes on autorun.exe - files

The illegal instruction is probably because the JIT generated code that
can't run on your CPU (it may have misidentified it).

So please attach the output of '/proc/cpuinfo'.

The coredump would be useful, but 99 MB is a bit large, how large is it
if you compress it with 'xz'?

Can you load the coredump into gdb like this (and paste the output)
gdb /usr/bin/clamscan -c core.3950

Bug#600283: live-build: binary.img not created, incorrect sources.list

2010-10-15 Thread Josselin Mouette
Package: live-build
Version: 2.0.2-1
Severity: serious
Justification: images don’t build without network access

I define a mirror for the bootstrap phase. A mirror (the same) for the
chroot phase. A mirror (still the same) for the binary phase. I make a
configuration for a usb-hdd build.

But in the end, live-build fails silently. The script finishes, and I
don’t get any binary.img.

Removing .stage/binary* and retrying gives another error message:

# lb binary
[snip]
P: Begin building root filesystem image...
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
The following NEW packages will be installed:
  squashfs-tools
0 upgraded, 1 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 114 kB of archives.
After this operation, 295 kB of additional disk space will be used.
WARNING: The following packages cannot be authenticated!
  squashfs-tools
E: There are problems and -y was used without --force-yes
P: Begin unmounting filesystems...

In chroot/etc/apt/sources.list, there is only one line:
deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ squeeze main
Since ftp.us is not reachable from the machine where it is building
(remember, I set a specific mirror precisely because of that), this
explains the error.

From here, I tried a bit of voodoo: replaced the sources.list by hand,
run apt-get update in the chroot. No more luck, it still fails silently,
and AFAICT I’m not using a specific filesystem that specifically trashes
files named binary.img.

Running “lb binary” twice will even overwrite the sources.list again
(seriously? isn’t the contents of the chroot supposed to be fixed after
the chroot phase?)

No more luck with lb binary_usb:

# lb binary_usb
[snip]
P: Mounting /dev/loop1 with offset 0
Warning: The resulting partition is not properly aligned for best performance.
1+0 records in
1+0 records out

Can't open /proc/13761/fd/3: No such file or directory
Cannot initialize 'S:'
Bad target s:/ldlinux.sys
syslinux: failed to create ldlinux.sys

So, should I prepare for sacrificing a chicken now?

I’m seriously sick of the whole of live-build being changed in each
version. I used to be able to build working images with earlier versions
of 2.0. We’re supposed to be in a *deep freeze*, and not only did the
configuration format change again, but now it’s not even possible to do
the simplest things anymore.

Bug#600284: acct: FTBFS on GNU/kFreeBSD. Patch included.

2010-10-15 Thread Mats Erik Andersson
Package: acct
Version: 6.5.4-2.1
Severity: important

Dear Acct maintainer, and Debian-BSD list.

The package Acct does not even manage to be configured due
to unmet dependencies in a test case built by configure.ac.

I supply a patch together with this report that improves the
detection of GNU/kFreeBSD for the autotools and the source itself.
The resulting package has been quickly installed on kfreebsd-i386
and seems to be working correctly. The new source package has
also been built with success on i386 and amd64, and is working
on the latter architecture.

Hopefully the experts in debian-bsd will correct or decline
my patch suggestion based on their superior experience.

By the way, the packaging of Acct is in error at the moment.
It was recently migrated to use the format 3.0 (quilt),
yet the build-dependency on Quilt is left in the control file,
and furthermore, the rules file itself makes active use of
Quilt in spite of Dpkg taking care of all necassary patch work.
This should be improved at the first opportunity.

Best regards,

Mats Erik Andersson
Description: FTBFS on GNU/kFreeBSD.
Incomplete detection of __FreeBSD_kernel__ as well
as unsatisfied dependency on stdint.h prevented
even configuration to succeed for GNU/kFreeBSD.
 .
Manipulations of the macros 'acct' and 'ac_flag'
completes the road to a functional software.
 .
 The test __FreeBSD_kernel_version__ = 801000
can certainly be relaxed to a version closer to 7.0.

Bug#583371: nut: usbhid-ups failing to communicate with UPS (libusb_get_report: error sending control message)

2010-10-15 Thread Teodor MICU
Hi Arnaud,

Since the patch is only a 2 line diff [1], can you upload a targeted
fix with this patch for squeeze? I strongly believe that release team
will not object to this small fix which is also included in the
upstream source. Also, this bug is currently RC.

Thanks
