Bug#598655: unblock: otrs2/2.4.8+dfsg1-1
Please unblock package otrs2 It fixes some security relevant bugs and many other upstream bugs, no new features or something like that. The package already has been aged and the CVE ids it fixes are CVE-2010-2080 and CVE-2010-3476, they are not mentioned in the changelog, because I have uploaded the package before I have noticed the cve id/it gets some. The debdiff is bloated, because of a little fault of upstream, so please use the patches from: http://lists.debian.org/debian-release/2010/09/msg01530.html What fault are you talking about? Why is fckeditor included in the package? What changes are there in the code base of fckeditor and is that still worth not using the fckeditor already in the archive? Bug#510130: fdisk: Error calculing volhdr partition boundaries on SGI disklabel (Debian patch)
Hi LaMont, Would you check this Debian patch and comment if it's okay (or already included in Git repository) so that this grave bug could be closed. Thanks, Jari From: Aurelien Jarno aurel...@aurel32.net http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=510130 While I agree with the analysis, the patch looks more like a workaround than a real solution. The problem is that when free space doesn't start on a cylinder boundary (the case for the free space after the volume header), there might be less than one cylinder to create a partition. The code to ask for partition boundaries is using cylinders (probably because partition start should be cylinder aligned) and thus doesn't cope with this issue. The patch below fixes the issue by making sure free space always starts as a cylinder boundary, as anyway that's the only possible location to create a new partition. --- util-linux-2.13.1.1.orig/fdisk/fdisksgilabel.c +++ util-linux-2.13.1.1/fdisk/fdisksgilabel.c @@ -501,6 +501,9 @@ } start = sgi_get_start_sector(Index[i]) + sgi_get_num_sectors(Index[i]); + /* Align free space on cylinder boundary */ + if (start % cylsize != 0) + start += cylsize - (start % cylsize); if (debug 1) { if (verbose) printf(%2d:%12d\t%12d\t%12d\n, Index[i], -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. For this reason, together with the complexity of the distribution of the last versions of Plone, shipped as several python eggs with strict versioned dependencies, led to the request of removal from unstable of the Plone package. Bug#599922: dictionaries-common: merge upstream changes to .el files
On Tue, Oct 12, 2010 at 03:33:07PM +0300, era eriksson wrote: I assume that having these files in dictionaries-common is a conscious decision, although having the same files as shipped by Emacs etc seems somewhat confusing and potentially risky. They follow those in FSF Emacs trunk, so they are usually way more recent than those shipped whith normal Emacs releases. They are also patched to work with XEmacs and to provide a common interface to *spell to all emacsen flavours in Debian. Currently, they will even work with emacs21.3 and emacs22. There is a two way interaction between dictionaries-common and FSF Emacs repo, I sometimes test things first in Debian before committing to the upstream Emacs repo. I plan to remove support for emacs21 and emacs22 as soon as squeeze is released. I would like to commit all XEmacs compatibility stuff to FSF Emacs bzr repo, to decrease the number of Debian specific stuff, but need first to remove/adapt all the older emacsen stuff. A further target is to generalize the steps needed for Debian integration and see if they can also be put upstream in a reasonable way, so we can get rid of extra {i,fly}spell.el files in some flavours, but this would make disappear the benefits of using updated trunk code. (Witness also https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dictionaries-common/+bug/619015 -- a change in emacs23 causes dictionaries-common's flyspell to break. Because of that, I hesitantly set the bug severity to Normal rather than Minor or Wishlist.) Fix is available for nearly two months, way before Ubuntu maverick is released. Do not know why 1.5.12, which only contains that fix, was not allowed into Ubuntu maverick. Recommends are installed by default, i.e. you need to explicitly tell apt(itude) to not install ppp, so this is usually only something for people who know what they are doing. I also updated the package description and explained what ppp is useful for. (if you have suggestions how this can be improved, please let me know). Why did you choose to not install ppp in the first place? Most users don't need ppp and Recommends gives them the flexibility to uninstall it. Making it a hard depends makes that impossible. Starting emacs as LC_NUMERIC=C emacs file.tex the problem does not occur. These are my own experience and the above link describes the same problem, I guess, I don't know for sure that it is gtk-qt-engine's fault but I have this problem only recently and have installed the package again recently. You can also find the opinion of the mantainer of AUCTeX in the following link, let me copy the relevant part: quote [LC_NUMERIC=C] will affect every program started from within Emacs as well. I am not clear what code is responsible for this: the problem is likely because either scanf or printf or its equivalents use , instead of . in numbers. Whether this happens inside of Emacs proper or in GTK, I don't know. In general, you rarely want LC_NUMERIC to be different from C for _anything_. Programming languages and libraries and utilities break because programmers hardly ever expect that the equivalent of printf(%4.2f,3.0) would result in 3,00 in foreign locales. /quote ii auctex 11.85-1integrated document editing ii emacs2323.2+1-4 The GNU Emacs editor (with GTK+ user Best wishes, Gábor Braun -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers stable APT policy: (990, 'stable'), (650, 'testing'), (600, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=hu_HU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=hu_HU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages gtk-qt-engine depends on: ii libatk1.0-0 1.30.0-1 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libc6 2.11.2-6 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libcairo2 1.8.10-6 The Cairo 2D vector graphics libra ii libfontconfig1 2.8.0-2.1generic font configuration library ii libfreetype62.4.2-1 FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libgcc1 1:4.4.5-2GCC support library ii libglib2.0-02.24.2-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgtk2.0-0 2.20.1-1+b1 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libpango1.0-0 1.28.1-1 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libqtcore4 4:4.6.3-1+b1 Qt 4 core module ii libqtgui4 4:4.6.3-1+b1 Qt 4 GUI module ii libstdc++6 4.4.5-2 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-62:1.3.3-3X11 client-side library Versions of packages gtk-qt-engine recommends: ii kde-config-gtk-style 1:1.1+svn5-4+b1 KDE configuration module for GTK+ gtk-qt-engine suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Since that will be the kernel version in Debian 6.0 I want to make sure it does perform well. I'd be happy to test some fixes to 2.6.32 to find the source of the problem if there is anything you want me to try. May be able to get better by tuning read-ahead buffer and vm.dirty_ratio. Bug#583919: virtualbox-ose: Network packet loss between host and guest
Roland Mas, 2010-05-31 18:48:11 +0200 : Package: virtualbox-ose Version: 3.2.0-dfsg-1 Severity: normal My VirtualBox instances have recently started losing incoming packets from the host after about 2 MB transmitted. I'm using dput to upload packages from the Sid host to a Lenny guest, so several files are uploaded in succession through SCP. Small files get transmitted almost instantaneously, as expected, but larger ones seem to get the first 2 MB transmitted in an initial burst, then the rest goes very slowly (typical transfer speeds around 30 kB/s). This still happens with 3.2.10-dfsg-1, but only on IPv6. IPv4 doesn't seem to lose packets. I don't remember trying v4 on this problem previously, so the difference in treatment are not necessarily recent. Bug#551802: gdm: still fails to manage remote utmp records correctly
Package: gdm Version: 2.20.11-2 Severity: normal As reported in lenny's version, gdm tries to manage the utmp record setting the id of the record to be the first part of display name, the id is defined to be 4 bytes long, and the display name for xdmcp clients is of the form ip:display_number, so, xdmcp users in the same /8 network end up overwriting the other user utmp record. On the other hand, if the id is a sequence of '\0', the id field is not used as a unique identifier, but the line field is. Since the line field is long enough to hold a ip:display_number, the attached patch uses this idea to avoid the collisions. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing-proposed-updates APT policy: (500, 'testing-proposed-updates'), (500, 'proposed-updates'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=es_AR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=es_AR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages gdm depends on: ii adduser 3.112 add and remove users and groups ii aterm [x-termina 1.0.1-7+b1 Afterstep XVT - a VT102 emulator f ii debconf [debconf 1.5.35 Debian configuration management sy ii gksu 2.0.2-3 graphical frontend to su ii gnome-session [x 2.30.2-1The GNOME Session Manager - GNOME ii gnome-terminal [ 2.30.2-1The GNOME terminal emulator applic ii konsole [x-termi 4:4.4.5-1 X terminal emulator ii ksmserver [x-ses 4:3.5.9.dfsg.1-6+lenny1 session manager for KDE ii kwin [x-window-m 4:3.5.9.dfsg.1-6+lenny1 the KDE window manager ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.21-1Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libatk1.0-0 1.30.0-1The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libattr1 1:2.4.44-2 Extended attribute shared library ii libc62.11.2-6Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libcairo21.8.10-6The Cairo 2D vector graphics libra ii libdbus-1-3 1.2.24-3simple interprocess messaging syst ii libdbus-glib-1-2 0.88-2 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libdmx1 1:1.1.0-2 X11 Distributed Multihead extensio ii libfontconfig1 2.8.0-2.1 generic font configuration library ii libfreetype6 2.4.2-1 FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libglade2-0 1:2.6.4-1 library to load .glade files at ru ii libglib2.0-0 2.24.2-1The GLib library of C routines ii libgnomecanvas2- 2.30.1-1A powerful object-oriented display ii libgtk2.0-0 2.20.1-1+b1 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libpam-modules 1.1.1-6 Pluggable Authentication Modules f ii libpam-runtime 1.1.1-6 Runtime support for the PAM librar ii libpam0g 1.1.1-6 Pluggable Authentication Modules l ii libpango1.0-01.28.1-1Layout and rendering of internatio ii librsvg2-2 2.26.3-1SAX-based renderer library for SVG ii librsvg2-common 2.26.3-1SAX-based renderer library for SVG ii libselinux1 2.0.96-1SELinux runtime shared libraries ii libwrap0 7.6.q-19Wietse Venema's TCP wrappers libra ii libx11-6 2:1.3.3-3 X11 client-side library ii libxau6 1:1.0.6-1 X11 authorisation library ii libxdmcp61:1.0.3-2 X11 Display Manager Control Protoc ii libxext6 2:1.1.2-1 X11 miscellaneous extension librar ii libxi6 2:1.3-4 X11 Input extension library ii libxinerama1 2:1.1-3 X11 Xinerama extension library ii libxml2 2.7.7.dfsg-4GNOME XML library ii lsb-base 3.2-23.1Linux Standard Base 3.2 init scrip ii metacity [x-wind 1:2.30.1-2 lightweight GTK+ window manager ii openbox [x-windo 3.4.11.1-1 standards compliant, fast, light-w ii rxvt-unicode [x- 9.07-2+b1 RXVT-like terminal emulator with U ii twm [x-window-ma 1:1.0.4-2 Tab window manager ii xfce4-session [x 4.6.2-1 Xfce4 Session Manager ii xfce4-terminal [ 0.4.5-1 Xfce terminal emulator ii xfwm4 [x-window- 4.6.2-1 window manager of the Xfce project ii xterm [x-termina 261-1 X terminal emulator Versions of packages gdm recommends: ii dialog1.1-20100428-1 Displays user-friendly dialog boxe ii gdm-themes0.6.2 Themes for the GNOME Display Manag ii whiptail 0.52.11-1 Displays user-friendly dialog boxe ii xnest 2:1.7.7-6 Nested X server ii xserver-xephyr

Bug#600137: closed by David Paleino da...@debian.org (Bug#600137: fixed in josm-plugins 0.0.svn23479-2)
Thank you David! webkit-image-gtk works in josm! I've never seen that before. The update-alternatives think works like a charm. I like the idea of putting webkit-image-gtk first to avoid the qt libraries, but in my (brief) tests, webkit-image-gtk does not work as well. It seems like perhaps webkit-image-gtk doesn't retry connections or something Here's what I see sometimes: 1) tiles that are completely white (except for the yahoo logo in the corner) 2) tiles with small square areas in them white (but the rest of the tile his good satelite image in it. 3) Tiles that say unable to load page problem occured while loading the URL http://josm[...] Cannot connect to destination with a try again The first two I'd guess are resulting from webkit-image-gtk rendering and exiting before the page has loaded completely. I have not seen any of the above with webkit-image-qt. Anybody else have similar experience? To test, you can install both, and switch the downloader setting in the WMS tab of the josm preferences. You'll need to delete the WMS layer and create a new one for the change to take effect (I assume). Thank you, - Jason P.S. The funny part, is that when the error message is scaled by josm's nearest neighbor algorithm, it looks like it says destinator (YMMV). -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#551802: gdm: still fails to manage remote utmp records correctly
Le vendredi 15 octobre 2010 à 09:23 -0300, Maximiliano Curia a écrit : As reported in lenny's version, gdm tries to manage the utmp record setting the id of the record to be the first part of display name, the id is defined to be 4 bytes long, and the display name for xdmcp clients is of the form ip:display_number, so, xdmcp users in the same /8 network end up overwriting the other user utmp record. On the other hand, if the id is a sequence of '\0', the id field is not used as a unique identifier, but the line field is. Since the line field is long enough to hold a ip:display_number, the attached patch uses this idea to avoid the collisions. The gdm package is only here to handle upgrades from lenny. Bug#600282: qt3-qtconfig: Does not set substitute font families correctly
Subject: qt3-qtconfig: Does not set substitute font families correctly Package: qt3-qtconfig Version: 3:3.3.8b-5+b1 Severity: normal *** Please type your report below this line *** Using debian lenny, kde 3.5. My default font is serif, since I have deleted dejavu and bistream fonts from the default installation, serif default to Nimbus Roman No9 L. I have set several substitute fonts, some of them Sazanami Mincho and Arpic Uming CN. But on websites some chinese and japanese characters are displayed as empty rectangle boxes, the problem is fixed when I set the default font in Konqueror to Sazanami/Arpic. Bug#600283: live-build: binary.img not created, incorrect sources.list
Package: live-build Version: 2.0.2-1 Severity: serious Justification: images don’t build without network access I define a mirror for the bootstrap phase. A mirror (the same) for the chroot phase. A mirror (still the same) for the binary phase. I make a configuration for a usb-hdd build. But in the end, live-build fails silently. The script finishes, and I don’t get any binary.img. Removing .stage/binary* and retrying gives another error message: # lb binary [snip] P: Begin building root filesystem image... Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree... Done The following NEW packages will be installed: squashfs-tools 0 upgraded, 1 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded. Need to get 114 kB of archives. After this operation, 295 kB of additional disk space will be used. WARNING: The following packages cannot be authenticated! squashfs-tools E: There are problems and -y was used without --force-yes P: Begin unmounting filesystems... In chroot/etc/apt/sources.list, there is only one line: deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ squeeze main Since ftp.us is not reachable from the machine where it is building (remember, I set a specific mirror precisely because of that), this explains the error. From here, I tried a bit of voodoo: replaced the sources.list by hand, run apt-get update in the chroot. No more luck, it still fails silently, and AFAICT I’m not using a specific filesystem that specifically trashes files named binary.img. Running “lb binary” twice will even overwrite the sources.list again (seriously? isn’t the contents of the chroot supposed to be fixed after the chroot phase?) No more luck with lb binary_usb: # lb binary_usb [snip] P: Mounting /dev/loop1 with offset 0 Warning: The resulting partition is not properly aligned for best performance. 1+0 records in 1+0 records out 440 bytes (440 B) copied, 0.000518781 s, 848 kB/s P: Mounting /dev/loop1 with offset 512 mkfs.vfat 3.0.9 (31 Jan 2010) Loop device does not match a floppy size, using default hd params Can't open /proc/13761/fd/3: No such file or directory Cannot initialize 'S:' Bad target s:/ldlinux.sys syslinux: failed to create ldlinux.sys So, should I prepare for sacrificing a chicken now? I’m seriously sick of the whole of live-build being changed in each version. I used to be able to build working images with earlier versions of 2.0. We’re supposed to be in a *deep freeze*, and not only did the configuration format change again, but now it’s not even possible to do the simplest things anymore. -- .''`. : :' : “You would need to ask a lawyer if you don't know `. `' that a handshake of course makes a valid contract.” `--- J???rg Schilling -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#600284: acct: FTBFS on GNU/kFreeBSD. Patch included.
Package: acct Version: 6.5.4-2.1 Severity: important Dear Acct maintainer, and Debian-BSD list. The package Acct does not even manage to be configured due to unmet dependencies in a test case built by configure.ac. I supply a patch together with this report that improves the detection of GNU/kFreeBSD for the autotools and the source itself. The resulting package has been quickly installed on kfreebsd-i386 and seems to be working correctly. The new source package has also been built with success on i386 and amd64, and is working on the latter architecture. Hopefully the experts in debian-bsd will correct or decline my patch suggestion based on their superior experience. By the way, the packaging of Acct is in error at the moment. It was recently migrated to use the format 3.0 (quilt), yet the build-dependency on Quilt is left in the control file, and furthermore, the rules file itself makes active use of Quilt in spite of Dpkg taking care of all necassary patch work. This should be improved at the first opportunity. Best regards, Mats Erik Andersson Description: FTBFS on GNU/kFreeBSD. Incomplete detection of __FreeBSD_kernel__ as well as unsatisfied dependency on stdint.h prevented even configuration to succeed for GNU/kFreeBSD. . Manipulations of the macros 'acct' and 'ac_flag' completes the road to a functional software. . The test __FreeBSD_kernel_version__ = 801000 can certainly be relaxed to a version closer to 7.0.
