Bug#341768: crossfire-client-gtk has problems with split-window mode

2005-12-02 Thread Günter Frenz
Package: crossfire-client-gtk
Version: 1.8.0-1

when I try to use split-window mode with the crossfire-gtk-client, the
client closes down with no apparent error message. It's just like using
the 'quit' command. I open the 'configure client' dialogue and mark the
entry 'split window' and after that I click on the 'save' button. I get
the same message on the console as when I use the client quit command:

[  INFO  ] (gtk::client_exit) Exiting with return value 0.

I'm using Debian Sid with
kernel 2.6.11-1-k7
libc6 2.3.5-8.1
libgtk1.2 1.2.10-18
libgtk2.0-0 2.6.10-2

any more info needed?

regards
 Günter Frenz

Bug#595795: tgif: Does not open documents written with version 4.1.x correct

you, suggests some problems with the fonts. Any idea where I can
look for a solution? Ah, I forgot to attach the second file in my
  last mail, now it is...

I think I have found the problem. If you look at the test.obj file
 itself, the second line is:

 state(0,37,100,000,0,0,0,16,1,9,1,1,0,0,1,0,1,0,'Courier',0,80640,0,0,1,5,0,0,1,1,0,16,0,0,1,1,1,1,1050,1450,1,0,2880,0).

Now the files I have created with version 4.2.2 contain the following
 second line:

 state(0,37,100.000,0,0,0,16,1,10,1,1,0,0,1,1,1,0,'Courier',0,138240,0,0,1,10,0,0,1,1,0,16,0,0,1,1,1,1,1050,1485,1,0,2880,0).

If I put your line in my file, I have teh same segfault and if I put
my line in your file, it works fine. I looked at the file very
carefully and the problem is in the third entry in parentheses, in
your file it is 100,000 but the correct value should be 100.000.
Clearly there is some problem with the way fixed point numbers are
formatted and written out to the file. The comma instead of the
 period confuses the issue.

I checked this issue against the first reported error message: it is
the same type of problem, with

script_frac(0.6).

the file is not opened correct and with

script_frac(0,6).

it is opened correct. So this looks like a problem with an
international environment (here German) where comma and period are used
in opposite way than in English.

I am not sure why this is happening at write time so i will forward
the message to the upstream author and maybe he can clarify the
 situation.

I am also putting this back into the bug report thread.

Thanks so far,

Günter

With the updated radeon driver the cairo rendering error is fixed, and
 this bug disappeared. Thanks.

The bug still exists with the current version on my system:

ii libcairo2:amd64 1.12.2-2
ii iceweasel 10.0.4esr-3

Since I'm not using the radeon driver, this fix doesn't help me. But
maybe a similar fix should be applied to the nouveau driver...

Bug#687764: /usr/bin/evince: n-up printing does not work properly

2012-09-15 Thread Günter Frenz
Package: evince-gtk
Version: 3.4.0-3

Dear Maintainer,

printing several pages on a single sheet doesn't work as expected: 2-up

Printing a PDF-file with Okular is working as expected.

If the print-dialog of Evince is from another package, please move the bug
report to that package.

Dear Maintainer,

after the upgrade to 0.9.8.9 I can't insert or change calculations in the
tables with raw data to plot.

I tested it with new imported tables and tables in existing projects. When I
try to set the column-values either in a new column or in an existing column, I
can define a formula as usual but when I want to enter it in the table, I get
the following error message (I have the German language version):

In Tabelle Tabelle1 existiert keine Zeile 0!

Bug#759583: dolphin: Context menu and keyboard shortcuts don't work after KDE-session restore

2014-08-28 Thread Günter Frenz
Package: dolphin
Version: 4:4.14.0-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

since the last update on Sid I have some problems after login and the
KDE-session being restored: in dolphin windows I have no context menu on right
mouse-click, in the normal menus the several entries like 'rename' and 'delete'
are gray and not usable and the keyboard shortcuts for these functions don't
work either. When I open a new dolphin window, this new window behaves normal,
all functions work properly. The bug only hits when the window is restored from
an old session.

If you need more info, please ask.

regards

Günter

Hi,

after yesterdays updates to Sid the situation has improved: the bug
now shows only in split-window configuration in the right sub-window
and just the context-menu when right-clicking is missing.
Keyboard-shortcuts are working.

Bug#798146: kcalc: Input with number-pad does not work

2015-09-06 Thread Günter Frenz
Package: kcalc
Version: 4:15.04.3-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

since the update to KDE5 environment I can't use the number-pad as input for
kcalc. The state of NUM-lock doesn't matter, typing on the number-pad just does
nothing. Normal keyboard works fine and other software gets input from the
number-pad as usual. The problem exists for kcalc in KDE- and XFCE-environment.

Regards

Günter

winbindd is installed and running on the Samba-DC and did not help in

Bug#820982: samba: Users cannot open their Windows session anymore

2016-04-14 Thread Günter Frenz
Hi,

I had the same problem this morning. In addition to the last message I
can add this for diagnosis:

root@it-linux:~# smbclient -L ldap-dc1 -Ufz
Enter fz's password:
Domain=[OHM] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 3.6.6]

Sharename Type Comment
- ---
netlogonDisk Network Logon Service
IPC$IPC IPC Service (ldap-dc1 server)
fz Disk Home Directories
Domain=[OHM] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 3.6.6]

Server Comment
----
LDAP-DC1 ldap-dc1 server

WorkgroupMaster
----
OHM LDAP-DC1
root@it-linux:~# smbclient -L it-data -Ufz
Enter fz's password:
session setup failed: NT_STATUS_TRUSTED_RELATIONSHIP_FAILURE

Contacting the DC directly works fine but contacting a member server
doesn't work.

I also tried to remove the client from the domain and join it again,
but that also didn't help.

My temporary solution was to downgrade to the previous version
samba/2:3.6.6-6+deb7u7 (all related packages) and the system is running
again fine.

As soon as I either try to run one of my python scripts or when I just
switch the scripting language to python, qtiplot crashes. The only

Do you need any additional info? Tell me which tests I should do.

I tried to to downgrade to the version from Stretch but that would
break other software that I need due to dependancy problems. Is the
last version before 0.9.8.9-17 still somewhere available to try a
downgrade? Without my scripts plotting of analysis-data takes 10 times
longer than usual...

Hi,

the bug still exists in the version 0.9.8.9-18. I will again downgrade
to 0.9.8.9-16

To reproduce it, it is enough to try to change the scripting language
to python via Scripting -> Scripting language and then choosing Python
results in a segmentation fault.

Bug#914241: qtiplot: Using scripts crashes qtiplot

2018-11-20 Thread Günter Frenz
Package: qtiplot
Version: 0.9.8.9-17+b1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

when I try to use scripts written in python with qtiplot, the software
crashes with a segmentation fault.

This bug is really annoying because it costs me quite much time to do
everything without scripts.

This bug seems to be similar or the same as #740146, which I reported
about 11 months ago and it is still not fixed in the version from
yesterday.

Maybe this time someone reads it and takes action...

this was done by the mail user agent, the file here on the system has
the comments correct.

I hadn't done that, but without comments and without debugging enabled
I get the same result as before: wrong entry in the first dialog
preselected.

With this command in the first dialog the correct entry is preselected
and I get the following output (some linewrapping by the MUA):

corinnis:/etc/exim4# env EX4DEBUG=y DEBIAN_FRONTEND=readline
dpkg-reconfigure -plow exim4-config now

as additional info: with the debug command and without stopping after
the first question, everything seems to work fine. So the problem seems
to be the default frontend "dialog".

here it comes, additionally I attached the output using dialog frontend

With or without using -plow I get this result:

dc_eximconfig_configtype=''
dc_other_hostnames='corinnis.guefz.de'
dc_local_interfaces='127.0.0.1;192.168.1.3'
dc_readhost=''

CFILEMODE='644'
dc_use_split_config='true'
dc_hide_mailname='false'
dc_mailname_in_oh='true'
dc_localdelivery='mail_spool'

It seems that the original file is not read. Despite having smarthost
in the original file, the first dialog has marked Internet-Server and
no matter which option I choose, after the first dialog execution ends
and I get the result from above.

What else should I check?

Regards

Bug#921834: exim4-config: Running dpkg-reconfigure exim4-config only shows first screen

2019-02-09 Thread Günter Frenz
Package: exim4-config
Version: 4.92~RC5-2
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

when I try to run dpkg-reconfigure exim4-config only the first screen
with the question for the general configuration appears. After selecting
any of these the execution ends without asking the other usual
questions. /etc/exim4/update-exim4.conf.conf was left with

dc_eximconfig_configtype=''

being empty. I replaced this with my backup and the server seems to run
again. Manual changes seem to work but using dpkg-reconfigure.

I have configured dash as sh.

Any other information required?

Regards

Günter Frenz

on my system the proposed patch removes only the first line of the
hourly error-mail from cron. The script still complains about not
finding DIFF. /usr/bin/diff exists and is working as expected, there is
a second path to find it via the /bin symlink as /bin/diff. I'm also
running unstable on my system, just with German localization.

The second line of error is written by /usr/lib/tiger/initdefs in the
function haveallcmds, but my knowledge of shell-scripting is not good
enough to see what is wrong.

I can confirm this error, I get the same message in the logs for every
VM I try to start since the update to version 6.1

I removed the guest-agent channel from the VM-definition via
virt-manager, but I get the same message in the logs as with the
guest-agent channel.

Bug#1001229: python3-nbconvert: 500 error when opening a notebook

2021-12-08 Thread Günter Frenz
Hi,

I think this bug should be merged with #1001283
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1001283

I can confirm that a downgrade of python3-mistune to version 0.8.5-5
solves the problem for now.

Regards Günter

Bug#1008983: dolphin: Restore windows after logout and next login does not work correct.

2022-04-05 Thread Günter Frenz
Package: dolphin
Version: 4:21.12.3-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

on my desktop (KDE-plasma) I'm using 3 windows of dolphin with different often
needed folders. When I log out and subsequently log in again the 3 windows are
not restored correct. They all have the same coordinates and the same size, so
I have to rearrange the windows at each login. The system remembers the number
and content of the windows correct, but not coordinates and size. In the
previous version everything worked fine.

Regards

Bug#1050286: firefox-esr: only active tab visible in the tab-bar

2023-08-22 Thread Günter Frenz
Package: firefox-esr
Version: 115.1.0esr-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
 Update to version 115

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
 Normal system update via synaptic

   * What was the outcome of this action?
The tab-bar is now at the bottom of the window which is not a big
problem, but the big problem is that I see only the active tab in
the tab-bar even when multiple tabs are open. So I can switch
between the tabs only by using the keyboard and have to know which
tab (content) corresponds to which number (not more than 9 tabs
accessible). Additionally the one visible tab-name overlaps with
the content of the website and it sometimes makes links or buttons
unreachable. Working with this setup is very annoying...

Is this a bug or a new 'feature'?

   * What outcome did you expect instead?
I expected a browser that is usable with a mouse...

Best regards
Günter

Bug#1013082: wine: CombineZP doesn't display a picture

2022-06-16 Thread Günter Frenz
Package: wine
Version: 7.0~repack-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I'm using CombineZP (https://combinezp.software.informer.com/1.0/) with
wine. Since the latest update the pictures are no longer displayed. When
I load pictures into the stack and after each processing step I see only
a white empty frame where the picture should be displayed. The
processing itself works as expected and when I save the invisible
result, it looks normal when viewed with another software. It is just
not displayed in CombineZP.

Best regards

Günter
