Bug#330008: tdiary with ruby 1.8.3 cause Segmentation fault

2005-09-29 Thread Hideki Yamane
Hi,

  Mon, 26 Sep 2005 23:01:42 +0900, Daigo Moriwaki
Re: Bug#330008: tdiary with ruby 1.8.3 cause Segmentation fault
Could you elaborate on how to reproduce the error? It always happens?
How do you run tDiary on the web server (Apache version, mod_ruby and so on).

I can reproduce it, apache always says it. if you check my
tdiary site (d.ma-aya.to), you will see error page.

 Apache2 version is apache2-mpm-prefork (and worker) 2.0.54-5,
and I don't use mod_ruby or any additional modules for apache2.

tDiary is pure ruby so that it never produces segmentation fault. If it
happens it's
a bug of Ruby. In order to fix the bug it would be better to ask Ruby
community with
the reproducible. tDiary might do a workaround, though.

I run tdiary in debug mode.

Bug#318802: sdl-ttf2.0: New upstream release version 2.0.7 is available now.

2005-07-18 Thread Hideki Yamane
Package: sdl-ttf2.0
Severity: normal

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-

Dear sdl-ttf-2.0 maintainers,

New upstream version (2.0.7) is available since Dec 2004.
It seems that debian/patches/file-opening-fix.dpatch is included
in it and most of debian/patches/freetype-fix.dpatch is included,
too (difference is include freetype/fterrors.h or FT_ERRORS_H).

 Please update it.

Dear openssh-client

Now openssh package is separeted to -client and -server.
And README.Debian is in -client package but it says about
server's feature, for example, PermitRootLogin directive.

Please consider about moving README.Debian file to -server.

  Re: Bug#314745: openssh-client: please move README.Debian to openssh-server
I don't want to move it, but it should appear in all of openssh-client,
openssh-server, and ssh; I'd like to symlink the documentation
directories together.

If so, where is target doc directory (what pacakge would contain
 that documents)?

Unfortunately last time I tried this I ran into
some very complicated upgrade issues across the package split and ended
up with some documentation disappearing entirely (!).

 (ouch!)

I'll try again at some point.

 OK.

  Re: Bug#314745: openssh-client: please move README.Debian to openssh-server
It'd be visible in all of /usr/share/doc/openssh-client/,
/usr/share/doc/openssh-server/, and /usr/share/doc/ssh/. openssh-server
and ssh both depend on openssh-client, so the canonical location would
have to be /usr/share/doc/openssh-client/.

OK, now it's clear for me, I understand it, thanks :)

postgresql/8.0, not just /usr/include/postgresql. You should fix it

Darts is simple C++ Template Library for implementation of Double-Array

 .
A double-array structure is a kind of Trie structure, digital search tree,
an efficient data structure combining fast access of a matrix form with the
compactness of a list form. It is faster than other implementations like Hash

I've updated apache2 package, added symlinks to /etc/apache2/sites-enabled
is gone... (and just say It works! with browser ;-)

No, it's my fault. I saw other host, sorry.

But a problem remains. I cannot saw all virtualhosts on my box
 without It works! (default) page.

 I've added NameVirtualHost * to /etc/sites-enabled/000-default
and restart, apache says warning but shows contents on virtualhosts.

$ sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart

Hi,

I had similar problem (I cannot launch iceweasel and epiphany-browser
completely) and just remove sun-j2sdk makes me happy :-)

So I want you to add Conflicts: sun-j2sdk1.4 to iceweasel and epiphany

Bug#486827: [iceweasel] Iceweasel cannot render APNG image

2008-06-18 Thread Hideki Yamane
Package: iceweasel
Version: 3.0~rc2-1
Severity: important

Hi,

Maybe I missed something an important point, but iceweasel cannot render
APNG image but just renders PNG file on my box.

How to reproduce

1. start iceweasel with -safe-mode
2. access http://labs.mozilla.com/2007/08/better-animations-in-firefox-3/ with
iceweasel
3. see Example: the Firefox “throbber” section, and you'll see non-animated
   png image.
4. get firefox3 and do same thing, apng works.

Bug#291778: security.debian.org: directory traversal vulnerability in alioth.debian.org

2005-01-23 Thread Hideki Yamane
Hi all,

  Sun, 23 Jan 2005 14:11:31 +0100, Roland Mas
Re: Bug#291778: security.debian.org: directory traversal vulnerability in
alioth.debian.org

I just uploaded the workaround to Sid. I'm now going to apply it to
Alioth's Gforge.

 Looks good.
Now I browsed with crafted URL, but it says Page not found.
 Thanks, Roland.

and I want to know how to do with alioth's problem if I would find it.
Helix Community also uses gforge (https://helixcommunity.org/), they
shows some address (for privacy, legal, etc) in page footer. I hope
you'll add some kind of address in index page.

If you feel this problem is gone, please close.

Bug#361757: gtkmm2.4: gtkmm should be 2.8.x now

2006-04-09 Thread Hideki Yamane
Package: gtkmm2.4
Severity: wishlist

Dear gtkmm2.4 maintainer,

Please update gtkmm to 2.8.x (2.8.3 now).
 http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/sources/gtkmm/2.8/

Some applications that built with gtkmm would say many warning,
but upstream author of that application says it is old gtkmm's
problem, not his software. And he says gtkmm2.8 works well.

If there is a blocker for this, then please tell me.

I understand now, thanks for explaining. But the problem is that most

ask that a header field be added to PO files so that translators
can decide that their files should not be reformatted.
Do you agree with this approach?

It's nice that translators can decide to do or not.
I'll reassign this bug to gettext.

Please check with a package containing a Japanese translation.
If debconf displays your translation without problem, there is
no bug.

 debconf-updatepo works msgmerge -U foo.po template.pot,
but -U or --update option doesn't work about word wrapping in
 its po file :(
 Just msgmerge ja.po templates.pot -o ja.po works fine.

We were told by the OCaml maintainers, if I recall correctly, that the
version should be required in dependencies because OCaml changes enough
between versions that the generic names don't provide a tight enough
version restriction. I personally don't know anything about OCaml, so I'm
happy to change lintian if that's not correct.

Now we have OCaml-*3.10* related packages are

$ apt-cache pkgnames ocaml |grep 3.10

ocaml-interp-3.10.2

ocaml-source-3.10.1
ocaml-source-3.10.2

those are virtual package. And for example, ocaml-base-nox package provides

 lintian requires ocaml-base-nox-3.10.0
So we CANNOT satisfy what lintian says about dependency :(

I think lintian should not says about ocaml packages' names with version,
 but only the generic names.

 hardening-wrapper or so.

 It's gcc-4.3 bug. See http://bugs.debian.org/469517

Please consider temporarily dropping hardening-wrapper to replace
the FTBFS buggy package with the fixed package for lenny.

OKay, it excludes hardening-wrapper in arm/armel in debian/control as below.

Build-Depends: dpatch, debhelper (= 5), autoconf, automake, libtool,
libgnutls-dev, libgtkmm-2.4-dev, zlib1g-dev, hardening-wrapper [!arm !armel]

 Hi,

Attached is the diff for my chasen 2.3.3-6.3 NMU.
 I will upload to DELAYED/7

Thanks for fixing bugs, but just wait for a while.

I'm preparing naist-jdic package, replacement for ipadic, I talked with
ipadic/naist-jdic upstream and it is released under BSD license :-)

So chasen package should use naist-jdic,
I've prepared updated chasen package with many changes at

but chasen maintainer knok's health condition is not good (Influenza or so),

Bug#421674: Please remove CIDfonts function from x-ttcidfont-conf

2008-03-07 Thread Hideki Yamane
Package: x-ttcidfont-conf
Version: 27

Hi,

I met a bug when configure x-ttcidfont-conf package, too. see below.

Unpacking replacement x-ttcidfont-conf ...
Setting up x-ttcidfont-conf (27) ...
Updating font configuration of x-ttcidfont-conf...
Cleaning up category cmap..
Cleaning up category cid..
Cleaning up category truetype..
Updating category truetype..
Updating category cid..
Updating category cmap..
Can't exec /usr/bin/mkcfm: No such file or directory at
/var/lib/defoma/scripts/x-ttcidfont-conf.defoma line 791.

Since mkcfm is removed from X packages because of its license, CID related
function in x-ttcidfont-conf does NOT work now.

And upstream X.org says CIDfonts are obsolete, so mkcfm is deprecated.
 https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5553

Yes, CIDfonts (and NEWCIDfonts) will be replaced to OpenType format fonts
(if there is OpenType font package in Debian, its name would be otf-fontname,
  like otf-thai-tlwg package).

 Summary
  - mkcfm is non-free
  - X.org think CIDfonts are obsolete

So we should remove CIDfont related code from this utility (and maybe
 change its package name(x-ttcidfont-conf).

If we want to use CIDfont, they upstream says that we convert it to
OpenType or something (however, I don't know how to do it).

Bug#421674: [Pkg-fonts-devel] Please remove CIDfonts function from x-ttcidfont-conf

2008-03-11 Thread Hideki Yamane
Hi Arne,

I'll ask some Japanese TeX users (and also Debian Developer or on NM Process)
in this weekend meeting about this issue. (I'm not familiar with TeX).

On Sat, 08 Mar 2008 12:41:29 +0800
Arne Goetje [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:
AFAIK CID fonts are obsolete in X.org, yes. But they are needed for TeX
and ghostscript, because ghostscript cannot deal with the OTF format yet.
The question now is if x-ttcidfont-conf is supposed to only configure
fonts for X usage, or system wide, which includes ghostscript. If the
former one, we can safely remove the CID related stuff... for the latter
one, it needs a general overhaul, together with the gsfonts and possibly
 other related packages.
Unfortunately the whole CID handing process in debian relies on the
Adobe CMAPs and presumes that every CID font uses one of those CMAPs.
This should be changed as CID fonts can bring their own CMAP files and,
more importantly, multiple CMAP files (because that's what CID is all
about!). However, there seems to be no sane way to install such files
into the system and make them work system wide.

So, if anyone has a deeper knowledge about this topic, please contact me
and then we can discuss how this should be handled.

No need to wait the 0.3.0, you only need to wait for new cmap file and
 recompile poppler-dat :)

Some files included in 0.2.1 but not in 0.3.0, such as Adobe-Japan1-UCS2 and
Adobe-GB1-UCS2 are still released under non-free Adobe's license. If I would
update this package, it is harmful for users.

Now Adobe folks are working on that issue, and it'll be released with as same
as new Adobe CMAP license, but it takes time until the end of October.
 See http://lists.nongnu.org/archive/html/freetype-devel/2009-09/msg00025.html

IMO, I should stay with poppler-data 0.2.1 until this issue will be solved.

Upstream prepares that separated ccstools package for upstream kernel.
So, I'm waiting for that, and try to make new package, tomoyo-ccstools2
or so, and to put it into repository.

 I discussed with upstream
  - They prepared tomoyo-tools for 2.6.30 or further that support TOMOYO.
We can use that for the upstream kernels (good).
  - But its functionality in the upstream kernels is limited, not fully
supported,
one of tomoyo developer said (bad)
  - If they would go towards merging TOMOYO into mainline, they would
discard compatibility of policy in one of tomoyo developer's plan (bad).

 So, what should I do?
Maybe I should make tomoyo-tools package for experimental distribution?

But its purpose and function are clear as you know.

When I saw the merge requests, the proposal sounded more like *it* was the

Yes, I completely agree with that.

But in the current state and from what you have mentioned, it looks like we
aren't even sure when TOMOYO could be used in a general purpose distribution
 like Debian.

They would continue to develop and maintain both 1.6.x and 1.7.x as kernel
patches, those are usable for general purpose, I think (and Debian has
packages).

And it is growing now, we'll be able to use TOMOYO fully without kernel patch
