Bug#330008: tdiary with ruby 1.8.3 cause Segmentation fault
Hi, Mon, 26 Sep 2005 23:01:42 +0900, Daigo Moriwaki Re: Bug#330008: tdiary with ruby 1.8.3 cause Segmentation fault Could you elaborate on how to reproduce the error? It always happens? How do you run tDiary on the web server (Apache version, mod_ruby and so on). I can reproduce it, apache always says it. if you check my tdiary site (d.ma-aya.to), you will see error page. Apache2 version is apache2-mpm-prefork (and worker) 2.0.54-5, and I don't use mod_ruby or any additional modules for apache2. tDiary is pure ruby so that it never produces segmentation fault. If it happens it's a bug of Ruby. In order to fix the bug it would be better to ask Ruby community with the reproducible. tDiary might do a workaround, though. I run tdiary in debug mode. Bug#314745: openssh-client: please move README.Debian to openssh-server
Hi, Sat, 18 Jun 2005 10:45:13 +0100, Colin Watson Re: Bug#314745: openssh-client: please move README.Debian to openssh-server I don't want to move it, but it should appear in all of openssh-client, openssh-server, and ssh; I'd like to symlink the documentation directories together. If so, where is target doc directory (what pacakge would contain that documents)? Unfortunately last time I tried this I ran into some very complicated upgrade issues across the package split and ended up with some documentation disappearing entirely (!). (ouch!) I'll try again at some point. Since mkcfm is removed from X packages because of its license, CID related function in x-ttcidfont-conf does NOT work now. And upstream X.org says CIDfonts are obsolete, so mkcfm is deprecated. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5553 Yes, CIDfonts (and NEWCIDfonts) will be replaced to OpenType format fonts (if there is OpenType font package in Debian, its name would be otf-fontname, like otf-thai-tlwg package). Summary - mkcfm is non-free - X.org think CIDfonts are obsolete So we should remove CIDfont related code from this utility (and maybe change its package name(x-ttcidfont-conf). If we want to use CIDfont, they upstream says that we convert it to OpenType or something (however, I don't know how to do it). -- Regards, Hideki Yamane pgpXvXiG7jnLG.pgp Description: PGP signature

Bug#421674: [Pkg-fonts-devel] Please remove CIDfonts function from x-ttcidfont-conf
Hi Arne, I'll ask some Japanese TeX users (and also Debian Developer or on NM Process) in this weekend meeting about this issue. (I'm not familiar with TeX). On Sat, 08 Mar 2008 12:41:29 +0800 Arne Goetje [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: AFAIK CID fonts are obsolete in X.org, yes. But they are needed for TeX and ghostscript, because ghostscript cannot deal with the OTF format yet. The question now is if x-ttcidfont-conf is supposed to only configure fonts for X usage, or system wide, which includes ghostscript. If the former one, we can safely remove the CID related stuff... for the latter one, it needs a general overhaul, together with the gsfonts and possibly other related packages. Unfortunately the whole CID handing process in debian relies on the Adobe CMAPs and presumes that every CID font uses one of those CMAPs. This should be changed as CID fonts can bring their own CMAP files and, more importantly, multiple CMAP files (because that's what CID is all about!). However, there seems to be no sane way to install such files into the system and make them work system wide. So, if anyone has a deeper knowledge about this topic, please contact me and then we can discuss how this should be handled. - -- Arne Götje (高盛華) [EMAIL PROTECTED] PGP/GnuPG key: 1024D/685D1E8C Fingerprint: 2056 F6B7 DEA8 B478 311F 1C34 6E9F D06E 685D 1E8C Key available at wwwkeys.pgp.net. Bug#548181: map-adobe-*: new upstream release, please move to main

Thanks for your report. However, new poppler-data 0.3.0 seems to lack some files from previous 0.2.1 release, so I would stay for a while. See http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/poppler/2009-September/005091.html No need to wait the 0.3.0, you only need to wait for new cmap file and recompile poppler-dat :) Some files included in 0.2.1 but not in 0.3.0, such as Adobe-Japan1-UCS2 and Adobe-GB1-UCS2 are still released under non-free Adobe's license. If I would update this package, it is harmful for users. Now Adobe folks are working on that issue, and it'll be released with as same as new Adobe CMAP license, but it takes time until the end of October. See http://lists.nongnu.org/archive/html/freetype-devel/2009-09/msg00025.html IMO, I should stay with poppler-data 0.2.1 until this issue will be solved. -- Regards, Hideki Yamane henrich @ debian.or.jp/iijmio-mail.jp http://wiki.debian.org/HidekiYamane -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#536347: tomoyo-ccstools: a version to work with the upstream kernel mac
Hi Ritesh, On Sat, 25 Jul 2009 11:32:15 +0200 Hideki Yamane henr...@debian.or.jp wrote: As was discussed in 532920, the current version of tomoyo-ccstools in Debian is not compatible with the tomoyo security module available in current upstream kernel. Now that 2.6.30 has entered unstable, are there plans to upload a version of tomoyo-ccstools which could work with the security module that is present in the upstream kernels ? Upstream prepares that separated ccstools package for upstream kernel. So, I'm waiting for that, and try to make new package, tomoyo-ccstools2 or so, and to put it into repository. I discussed with upstream - They prepared tomoyo-tools for 2.6.30 or further that support TOMOYO. We can use that for the upstream kernels (good). - But its functionality in the upstream kernels is limited, not fully supported, one of tomoyo developer said (bad) - If they would go towards merging TOMOYO into mainline, they would discard compatibility of policy in one of tomoyo developer's plan (bad). So, what should I do? Maybe I should make tomoyo-tools package for experimental distribution? -- Regards, Hideki Yamane henrich @ debian.or.jp/iijmio-mail.jp http://wiki.debian.org/HidekiYamane -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#536347: tomoyo-ccstools: a version to work with the upstream kernel mac
Hi, On Mon, 28 Sep 2009 22:13:32 +0530 Ritesh Raj Sarraf r...@researchut.com wrote: So what exactly is TOMOYO targeted for ? I'm not sure ;) (sorry) because I'm not TOMOYO developer and sometimes I could not get a reasonable reply from a core developer when I asked. # it makes me confused as well... But its purpose and function are clear as you know. When I saw the merge requests, the proposal sounded more like *it* was the real Simplified (and self-learning) Mandatory Access Control. Yes, I completely agree with that. But in the current state and from what you have mentioned, it looks like we aren't even sure when TOMOYO could be used in a general purpose distribution like Debian. They would continue to develop and maintain both 1.6.x and 1.7.x as kernel patches, those are usable for general purpose, I think (and Debian has packages). And it is growing now, we'll be able to use TOMOYO fully without kernel patch in someday. -- Regards, Hideki Yamane henrich @ debian.or.jp/iijmio-mail.jp http://wiki.debian.org/HidekiYamane -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe.
