On Thu, 2006-06-15 at 22:57 +0200, Alexander Sack - Debian Bugmail wrote: your are right. We missed to close this bug. At least its fixed in stable-security. For unstable I don't know. It's not yet fixed for Etch/Sid. For two months! I don't want to trash -release, so not Cc to there now. But the package is very badly maintained. Last maintainer upload was in last september. Has several easy to fix bugs, like #323434 which is a debconf translation update. But also #288927 can be closed, it is reported against Woody with a backported package. Gosh! But copyright issues also present, see #207024 and #207026 . Wouldn't it be better to orphan mozilla? Hey, I *am* not the maintainer, I am just the guy doing shitwork of keeping mozilla over water (for stable now). The package is unmaintained and noone argues that its not. So your finding is nothing new. Neither to me now to the release managers. If you use etch or sid, just stop using mozilla or try to get seamonkey into the archive. The plain mozilla package is *dead* (except for security support) and even unsupported upstream. Of course, if you come up with patches, we can include them in the next security upload to sid (if we ever do one again). - Alexander -- GPG messages preferred. | .''`. ** Debian GNU/Linux ** Alexander Sack| : :' : The universal [EMAIL PROTECTED] | `. `' Operating System http://www.asoftsite.org | `-http://www.debian.org -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#373707: kmymoney2: FTBFS in sid (problem with kbanking)
Hello Sune Sorry for the severity, i did set it to serious in reportbug, but it asked me if I would know to which section in policy this would apply. I didn't know this for sure and said unknown as it was suggested. So looks like reportbug is to blame for this. Which section would be? 4.2 ? Then, i haven't got the copy of the reply you have send to my account for some reason. And for the sig, yes it looks bad, and i can't verify it too - i don't know the cause of this. Another mail I have send to the BTS verifies good. I will have an eye on this. I hope this message has a valid one. Bug#373899: cupsys: USB backend cannot access /dev/usb/lp0
Package: cupsys Version: 1.2.1-2 Severity: grave When the USB backend process is spawned, its UID is set to 7 (lp), but the GID remains 0 (I've checked in /proc//status). This makes CUPS incompatible with the default configuration of udev, which sets for /dev/usb/lp[0-9] owner root, group lp, and mode 660. The backend process should be spawned with GID 7 (lp) as well as UID 7 (lp). Severity justification: local printers which use parallel, serial, and usb backends, are unusable without manual reconfiguration of udev. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (90, 'experimental'), (90, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.15-1-k7 Locale: LANG=ru_RU.KOI8-R, LC_CTYPE=ru_RU.KOI8-R (charmap=KOI8-R) Versions of packages cupsys depends on: ii adduser 3.87Add and remove users and groups ii debconf [debconf-2.0]1.5.1 Debian configuration management sy ii gs-esp 8.15.1.dfsg.1-2 The Ghostscript PostScript interpr ii libacl1 2.2.37-1Access control list shared library ii libc62.3.6-13GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libcupsimage21.2.1-2 Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - ii libcupsys2 1.2.1-2 Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - ii libdbus-1-2 0.61-6 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libgnutls13 1.3.5-1.1 the GNU TLS library - runtime libr ii libldap2 2.1.30-13 OpenLDAP libraries ii libpam0g 0.79-3.1Pluggable Authentication Modules l ii libpaper11.1.17 Library for handling paper charact ii libslp1 1.2.1-5 OpenSLP libraries ii lsb-base 3.1-10 Linux Standard Base 3.1 init scrip ii patch2.5.9-4 Apply a diff file to an original ii perl-modules 5.8.8-4 Core Perl modules ii procps 1:3.2.6-2.2 /proc file system utilities ii xpdf-utils [poppler-util 3.01-8 Portable Document Format (PDF) sui ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3-11 compression library - runtime Versions of packages cupsys recommends: ii cupsys-client 1.2.1-2 Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - ii foomatic-filters3.0.2-20060530-1 linuxprinting.org printer support ii smbclient 3.0.22-1 a LanManager-like simple client fo -- debconf-show failed -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#373887: the cause of the problem
/usr/share/python/pyversions.py defines requested_versions(), which returns either a list: versions = [current] or a set: versions = vinfo['versions'].intersection(supported) Then /usr/bin/pycentral calls that function, and expects it to return a list: def set_default_runtime_from_version_info(self): versions = pyversions.requested_versions(self.version_field, version_only=True) self.default_runtime = get_runtime_for_version(versions[0]) When I run it, versions is Set(['2.4']) class 'sets.Set', and so trying to evaluate versions[0] causes TypeError: unindexable object. I guess the solution is to make requested_versions() always return a list, but I don't know. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Bug#373707: [Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#373707: kmymoney2: FTBFS in sid (problem with kbanking)
Le ven 16 juin 2006 08:46, Carsten Luedtke a écrit : Hello Sune Sorry for the severity, i did set it to serious in reportbug, but it asked me if I would know to which section in policy this would apply. I hope this message has a valid one. you don't need to search for the policy section for a ftbfs. I'm even surprised that reportbug does not know about it himself ;) -- ·O· Pierre Habouzit ··O[EMAIL PROTECTED] OOOhttp://www.madism.org pgp68FQbd6qYY.pgp Description: PGP signature

On Thu, Jun 15, 2006, Alexis Sukrieh wrote: Thanks a lot for the patch, I'm going to test it on a 32bit arch very soon. Bug#318719: Patch - plays with sound now
tags 318719 + pending thanks Hi, I've just applied Sam's last patch (provided in debian package version 0.91cvs20060501-1.3) in the upstream CVS repository. I've packaged the resulting export as version 0.91cvs20060616-1. This bug will then be closed as soon as that package is uploaded to the Debian archive. I guess that now, for real, tecnoballz does run on AMD 64 archs ;-) Thanks for anyone who gave a hand for closing that issue. Just two days after the last security problem another flaw was discovered. Luckily not as bad as the last one. Andreas Åkre Solberg discovered a security flaw which allows registered users to view page content they usually have no access to. The problem is in the way how a successful user profile change is handled. This affects only installs which have Access Control Lists enabled (off by default) and restricted the READ permission for certain pages even for logged in users. Non-authenticated users can not exploit this bug. The package available at http://www.splitbrain.org/go/dokuwiki was updated again to reflect the change but fixing it manually is simple, too. Info on how to do this is available at http://bugs.splitbrain.org/?do=detailsid=825 Andi PS: I apologize for the trouble. Unfortunately the bigger and complex a software gets the more likely security flaws are. I try hard to avoid common mistakes but sometimes a bug slips through. If you are an experienced PHP developer I encourage you to have a look at the code (preferably the devel code) your self to help spotting such weaknesses - the more people check, the better it gets. __| End of message |___ End of forwarded message ---End Message--- ---BeginMessage--- Version: 0.0.20060309-4 ---End Message---

Bug#373697: [cl-debian] Bug#373697: clisp_1:2.38-5 (ia64/unstable): FTBFS: [interpreted.mem] Aborted
Hello Steve, Alle Thursday 15 June 2006 07:26, Steve Langasek ha scritto: The failure on ia64 is: [...] echo '(setq *clhs-root-default* http://www.lisp.org/HyperSpec/;)' config.lisp ./lisp.run -B . -N locale -Efile UTF-8 -Eterminal UTF-8 -Emisc 1:1 -norc -m 1400KW -x (and (load \init.lisp\) (sys::%saveinitmem) (ext::exit)) (ext::exit t) make[1]: *** [interpreted.mem] Aborted For this I could experiment a little and found a workaround: use -O0 to compile :-(. I opened a bug in the clisp bts: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detailatid=101355aid=1506857group_id=1355 The arm failure looks like it may have been a temporarily broken header file on arm, or it may be a bad #define in clisp. I'm trying to build clisp on leisner.debian.org at the moment, but progress seems slow. The sparc one is completely different from the other two; it's not currently a release-critical issue, but should be treated with a high priority since sparc may be re-added as a release candidate soon. I fear that without access to a sid chroot on sparc it will be impossible for me to go and fix this bug. A similar bug was opened for powerpc (#364688) and that I can not reproduce on any powerpc machine I have access to. My gut feeling is that with -O0 they too would disappear, so I'll wait for the results of the mips compile and then upload a package that forces -O0 on ia64, sparc and powerpc. Bug#373913: MySQL DoS announced on bugtraq: str_to_date(1, NULL) - crash
Hello On 2006-06-15 Moritz Muehlenhoff wrote: Christian Hammers wrote: Hey Long time no read :) But I guess the attached bug justifies a DSA, or? I verified that it really crashes the whole server and not only the one connection that is used (see below). The patch from 4.1 and 5.0 looks identical and very easy to backport (one line only). If the whole mysql server can be crashed a DSA is justified, yes. Should I prepare packages? Please do. I found out that 3.23 (woody) and 4.0 (sarge) are not vulnerable as the function str_to_date() was introduced in 4.1.1. Packages for 4.1 (sarge) can be found on http://www.lathspell.de/linux/debian/mysql/sarge-4.1/ The patch from the last DSA has been renamed from 64_SECURITY_CVE-2006-.dpatch to 64_SECURITY_CVE-2006-2753.dpatch, I hope you don't mind that this is in the .diff. AFAIK there's no CVE number assigned to this, can you register one? If an update is public through a place like Bugtraq CVE assignments are done through MITRE, it'll probably trickle in very soon. We'll keep you posted. The new CVE-Id should, once it is known, replace the in * the 65_SECURITY_CVE-2006-.dpatch filename * the comment in this file (2x) and * the debian/changelog file (1x) I verified that with this patch the function returns NULL and no longer crashs the server. bye, -christian- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#373813: whowatch: FTBFS: whowatch.c:288: undefined reference to `read_key'

Bug#354482: Maybe not critical
severity important thanks Hi, after some thought, I'm downgrading the severity of this bug. It sure can break your loginability, but so can any pam module if installed incorrectly. In this case I think we can expect that the admin tests it first (e.g. staying logged in, testing only for su). But this bug will stay open until poldi is reportedly more robust. I hope everyone agrees. Bug#373955: fai-server: fai doesn't remove apt.conf.d/*fai
Package: fai-server Version: 2.10.2 Severity: critical Justification: breaks unrelated software After installtion of a client fai leaves the files 10fai and 90fai in /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/. The first file disables checking of trust violations and unauthenticated packages. After a system is installed this could be required. The second file has as effect that when removing a package, it's also purged. Also it assumes yes to all answers. itext:/etc/apt/apt.conf.d# cat 10fai APT::Get::AllowUnauthenticated true; Aptitude::CmdLine::Ignore-Trust-Violations yes; itext:/etc/apt/apt.conf.d# cat 90fai // This file is used in the chroot environment from install_packages // (called by rcS_fai) // Options for apt-get for FAI APT { // Options for apt-get Get { Assume-Yes true; Fix-Missing true; Show-Upgraded true; Purge true; // really purge! Furthermore, the target where quilt push is executed is: $(stampdir)/patch-stamp: $(stampdir) debian/missingfiles.tar.gz quilt push -a tar -xzf debian/missingfiles.tar.gz touch $@ So either you've changed missingfiles.tar.gz after calling the patch target, or something's amiss with stampdir/patch-stamp.
