Downgrading back to 1.4.10a-2 fixes the problem so something has happened on the way to 1.4.11-1. Would it be an option for either of you to test upgrading to PHP5 to see if the problem also goes away? It has been confirmed that this is a PHP4-only issue. I will make an upload with the fix within a day or two. If you really need to work around this problem before that time, downgrade to SquirrelMail 1.4.10a or upgrade to PHP5. Package: python-scipy version: 0.6.0-2 Severity: serious User: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Usertags: qa-ftbfs-20071007 qa-ftbfs Justification: FTBFS on i386 Hi, python-scipy build-depends on: Build-Depends: debhelper (= 5.0.37.2), dpkg-dev (= 1.13.19), dpatch, python-all-dev, python-central (= 0.5), python-numpy (= 1:1.0.2), g77, sharutils, swig, libufsparse-dev, netcdfg-dev, libx11-dev, refblas3-dev | atlas3-base-dev, lapack3-dev | atlas3-base-dev, fftw3-dev However, libufsparse-dev is a virtual package: libufsparse-dev is a virtual package provided by: libsuitesparse-metis-dev libsuitesparse-dev Using libsuitesparse-metis-dev (no default, using first one) But libsuitesparse-metis-dev is in contrib. Shouldn't you depend on libsuitesparse-dev directly to avoid building a package that depends on a contrib package, and thus should go to contrib as well? Also, the package currently FTBFS because of this, since libsuitesparse-metis-dev is not installable. Bug#441198: binNMU request for gtkmathview on amd64 [Was: Re: Bug#441198: Crash on amd64]
Hi -releasers, can you please schedule a binNMU for the source package gtkmathview on amd64? Unfortunately I'm not entirely sure that it is the proper solution, since I did not (also after talking with upstream et al) about what was the cause of the crash, but we are quite convinced it was some toolchain breakage. Nevertheless, ATM rebuilding the package on amd64 fixes the problem, that's why I'm asking for the binNMU. Hints on what to do on other archs (i.e. binNMU also there?) are appreciated. On i386 the package works just fine, but I don't know what to expect elsewhere ... TIA, Cheers. Bug#445720: The GIMP plugins for refocussing blurred images
Hi, I'm also forwarding this mail to the bug report I got regarding this problem, just to keep track of it. Does refocus always segfault, or only from times to times? I have seen intermittent segfaults with refocus in the past (I don't get that anymore now), but never reproducible segfaults. Which GIMP version are you using? for me it segfaults every time, if the image is larger than 100x100 or so, didn't check it exactly. But with all large images I've tested it I run into a segfault. I'm using gimp and co from unstable. You can svn co https://ssl.recluse.de/svn/debian/trunk/packages/refocus/ if you want to have what's I'm working with, I've reworked a lot of stuff to make building debug packages working at all. I've a backtrace attached to this mail in case you want to look into it. Cheers, Bernd -- Bernd Zeimetz [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://bzed.de/ refocus-bt.txt Description: application/pgp-keys

Bug#445825: multipath-tools-boot should run after libdevmapper1.02
Package: multipath-tools Version: 0.4.7-1.1 Severity: grave Tags: patch Justification: renders package unusable The script /etc/rcS.d/S03multipath-tools-boot creates devices in /dev/mapper/ (per udev rule), but /dev/mapper/ does not exist at that time. The directory is created by /etc/rcS.d/S25libdevmapper1.02, so multipath-tools-boot should run after that. (Or perhaps the directory should be created earlier by some other means.) I could successfully fix the problem by moving it to S25multipath-tools-boot. (The numbers are a bit tight because I need it before S26lvm.) Hi, The issue may appear in other places in your code (there is e.g. some unsafe seds calls). Though I must say I don't really know how to fix this minimally. my non-debian man page says: -y passwdfile Use complete contents of passwdfile as the password for simple authentication. That and a temporary file with correct permissions should do the job here? Haven't looked at the unsafe seds calls, though. Kind regards, Stefan

Oops, disregard my previous message. Seems like I was a bit trigger happy and mixed it up with the -T parameter? -T newPasswdFile Set the new password to the contents of newPasswdFile. I managed to confuse myself right now and I'm not even sure if any of these params are OK at all. So better don't listen to me, sorry.

I would not want to have the stable packages removed because people may depend on them, even if the associated software is not in debian. Bug#445582: ldapscripts shows passwords in the clear on the command line
On Mon, Oct 08, 2007 at 12:33:06PM +, Stefan Cornelius wrote: Hi, The issue may appear in other places in your code (there is e.g. some unsafe seds calls). Though I must say I don't really know how to fix this minimally. my non-debian man page says: -y passwdfile Use complete contents of passwdfile as the password for simple authentication. That and a temporary file with correct permissions should do the job here? Haven't looked at the unsafe seds calls, though. for the ldappasswd yes it can work this way (mkstemp will give the proper file, with the proper perms). FOr the sed calls it's less easy. I've not the time to fix that right now though. -- ·O· Pierre Habouzit ··O[EMAIL PROTECTED] OOOhttp://www.madism.org pgpooDcIymLxR.pgp Description: PGP signature

Bug#445834: egroupware 1.4 buggy
Package: egroupware Version: 1.4.002.dfsg-1 Severity: serious This is a note to the public wondering why egroupware 1.4 is in experimental. The following are major problems compared to 1.2: - There is no migration path from the old LDAP addressbook to the new one. - Addressbook ACLs change meaning without notice, meaning people won't be able to read what they used to be able to. - Shared folders no longer work with Felamimail and Courier IMAP. - icalsrv is completely broken. We will stick with egroupware 1.2 in lenny until these issues are addressed. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Two passwords appear in clear-text format here : $BINDPWD (the one used for any ldapscripts connection) and $1 (the new one, to be changed for a given user). The first one appears in any function defined in the runtime file (easy to grep : BINDPWD), the second one is only used in _changepassword() to change a user's password. Is it a matter of making the first one appear ? The second one, or both ? I understand these security issues, but my opinion is the scripts should only be used by a small set of users (e.g. *very* limited rx access to a specific user/group for config, runtime and script files). Since the password (at least the one used for binding) has to be sent clear-text to the LDAP directory, it has to be stored clear-text somewhere locally, and thus, any allowed user can source the conf file. I'm not sure storing it in a temp file would solve the problem... Any further explanation of the problem is welcome since I am not sure to understand the problem correctly... The issue is that when the commands are run, the arguments can be seen in clear text in `ps aux` output. So not only that script has the issue, the parts where you sed -e s/password/$PASSWORD/g are vulnerable too. I understand the issue is not that obvious to fix, but this is an issue in a multiuser environment, even if small (in my company we use ldap, we don't want our interns to run busy psaux loops to steal the ldap password …). -- ·O· Pierre Habouzit ··O[EMAIL PROTECTED] OOOhttp://www.madism.org pgpvWCWJR9AQa.pgp Description: PGP signature

Bug#445780: Wrong color on winxp as well. Left mouse-button clicks not working.
I get the same yellow-instead-of-grey as the previously posted screenshot when I connect to Windows XP. Haven't yet run into a segfault, but left mouse-button clicks seems to be ignored (right works fine) so my hands are pretty tied by that. Everything worked fine in previous version. rdesktop outputs this to console while connecting: WARNING: Remote desktop does not support colour depth 24; falling back to 16 -- Regards, Andreas Henriksson -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe.
