Bug#519058: vtk: FTBFS on (almost) all architectures

2009-03-10 Thread Michael Hanke
Package: vtk
Version: 5.2.1-1
Severity: serious

Hi,

I case you haven't noticed yet, the recent upload of VTK 5.2 fails to
build on all architectures (except for amd64, which I assume got
uploaded in the first place).

Looking at https://buildd.debian.org/~luk/status/package.php?p=vtk
the most common error seems to be

| dh_install -i
--sourcedir=/build/buildd-vtk_5.2.1-1-alpha-SAuXrb/vtk-5.2.1/debian/tmp
| cp: cannot stat
`/build/buildd-vtk_5.2.1-1-alpha-SAuXrb/vtk-5.2.1/debian/tmp//qt4-support/usr/lib/vtk-5.2':
 No such file or directory

But there is also:

| c++: Internal error: Terminated (program cc1plus)
| Please submit a full bug report.
| See file:///usr/share/doc/gcc-4.3/README.Bugs for instructions.
| make[3]: *** [Graphics/CMakeFiles/vtkGraphics.dir/vtkPlaneSource.o] Error 1
| make[3]: Leaving directory `/build/buildd/vtk-5.2.1/Build'

Hence this bugs seems to be different from #516756.

Michael

Bug#517470: ffmpeg2theora: FTBFS in sid

ubuntu have packaged a newer upstream version in jaunty and thier source
package seems to build fine in sid.

I've just tried a minimal invasive patch for this package:

diff
Description: Binary data

unfortunately, it stil fails to build, buildlog attached.

current-unstable
Description: Binary data

The reason for the failed build that the ffmpeg package no longer
provides the optional and deprecated VHOOK extensions, but provides
instead libavfilter, a new library for implementiong various filters.

I have no idea how essential VHOOK is for ffmpeg2theora, but as peter
points out, it seems that newer versions as the one in ubuntu does no
longer require it.

Therefore strongly recommend updating to the version found in ubuntu.

Yup, it needs to be rebuilt against libpoppler4

Feel free to re-assign to whichever package is ultimately responsible for

Things like that happen in unstable. That's just the way it is.

The real problem here seems to be that the binNMUs by the release
team to rebuild texlive against the new poppler failed (i.e. #518634)

They're in the Subversion repository for this package and will be in the
next release. Note that the change to remove them from kernel images is
also unreleased.

Hi, I'd just found out that the non-DFSG-free firmware had been removed
from the 2.6.29-rc* kernels at kernel-archive.buildserver.net, so I was

make[4]: *** [../pwlib/device/videoinput/avc_pwplugin.so] Error 1

I was concerned that it might be related to using libdc1394-22-dev so I
built the original and get the following problem with build-dependencies:

The following packages are BROKEN:
  libdc1394-13

I have the same error with the newest ptlib. It seems that libraw1394
v1 is not supported anymore, only v2.

It might have been registered to the session manager, which now loads it

Just to confirm, does vino-server appear in your .gnome2/session file?

the package pb-diagram seems to be under GPL, at least that is what the
file COPYING states (texmf-dist/doc/latex/pb-diagram/).

But it ships a copy/changed version of lamsarrow.sty which starts with

% lamsarrow.sty: fancy arrows using lams fonts
% Author: extracted from Michael Spivak's LamS-TeX by Paul Burchard
% Version Number: 4.1
% Version Date: 24 Jan 1997
%
%- LamS-TeX copyright -
% COPYRIGHT (C) 1989, 1990, 1991 by the Texplorators Corporation,
% 1572 West Gray #377, Houston, TX 77019-4948 (ALL RIGHTS RESERVED)
%--

I guess we should remove that lamsarrow.sty. Or the whole package
pb-diagram?

Suggestions?

Best wishes

Norbert

H?? That is strange. Why did it build on my pbuilder/cowbuiler
the last time I uploaded??? Strange.

Ok, found it. It was the funny debhelper change that didn't allow
--flavor any more. We need a fixed tex-common first in unstable before
we can fix that. thanks.

The latest version of pb-diagram can use xypic instead, so there's no
need to remove it. It's also worth checking with the author of
lamsarrow.

 Hi,

 i attached the apt-build-log.
Is debian/rules a generated file? Should you use chmod a-x instead of
chmod -x which equals chmod u-x anyway to ensure that the executable
bits for g and o are removed, too?

Could you please also send me the output of debsums coreutils, whereis chmod
and umask. It's still not clear to me, why the chmod call fails on your

the alternative is to claim that pb-diagram *only* works with the xy

That's it. you have a strange umask setting. The default should be 0022 and with

The armel builds of cups are failing. After some research it
seems likely that success of cupsys testsuite is dependant of
the performance of system running the testsuite. See:

test/waitjobs.sh.

It will only wait upto 60sec when waiting for jobs to finish.
Bumping up the timeout has no ill effect on faster machines,
because waitjobs.sh will anyway exit as soon as jobs have finished.
waitjobs.sh should also print wether it exits due to jobs finising
or due to bumping to a timeout.

This probably also explains why the testsuite has failed on m68k and
arm before.

Hi,

Since I upgraded to cups 1.3.9-13, whenever I print a PDF from Evince or
the commandline using 'lp'. The printer produces lots and lots of pages of
PDF source instead of the actual PDF:

%PDF-1.3
%1234
% This file was generated by pdftopdf
[...]

Since the 0.3.9-14 changelog mentioned something related to a pdftopdf
patch, I tried upgrading, but the problem is still there. I could only
solve it by going back to 1.3.8-1lenny4.1.

Regards,
Paul

Hi,

I tried to upgrade cups to unstable.
I'm using hplip (2.8.12-3) to manage my HP printer.

When i try to print something, my printer print the code of the document in place of the
document !
No particular log, it happen only with my printer managed with hplip, my second one is
using postscript driver via samba (this is a Ms windows share) work well with cups 1.3.9.

I had downgraded cups to 1.3.8-1lenny4.1 and it solve that issue...

Package: cups
Version: 1.3.9-14 (unstable)

Hello

I have a mix of debian testing and unstable (because I am slowly downgrading
from unstable to testing by setting the priority maximal to testing in
/etc/apt/preferences).
linux : 2.6.28-7.slh.1-sidux-686 (unstable)
libc6 : 2.7-18 (stable)

I still had the unstable version (1.3.9-14) of the cups packages, and I noticed
that I wasn't able to print since a while in my HP LaserJet 4000 using the
postscript driver. When trying to print a test page, my printer just told me
that it was processing tasks but didn't print, even after half an hour.

Downgrading the following cups packages from the unstable version 1.3.9-14 to
the stable version (1.3.8-1lenny4.1) fixed the problem :

cups
cups-bsd
cups-client
cups-common
cupsys-client
cupsys-common
libcups2

Here is what I get in /var/log/cups/error_log when trying to print the test
page after I set the loglevel to debug in /etc/cups/cupsd.conf and BEFORE I
downgraded cups :

After having upgraded to the latest version of Cups in experimental (1.3.9-11),
I cannot print a testpage or any
other document on my HP LJ 1010. Instead I always get raw pdf output. Switching
back to the version in
SID (1.3.8-1lenny4) fixes the problem.

Bug#518080: amaya: crashes on start-up: Gtk-CRITICAL assertion failed

2009-03-10 Thread Regis Boudin
Hi,

Thanks for the report. I'm extremely busy at the moment, sorry for the
delay. The Gtk-CRITICAL message doesn't actually trigger the crash, it
shows up at every start (I should add a patch for that).

So overall that's another crash with no explaination...

Bug#519108: pwlib-titan FTBFS

2009-03-10 Thread Barry deFreese

Package: pwlib-titan
Version: 1.11.2-2
Severity: Serious

Hi,

While trying to see if pwlib-titan would build with libdc1394-22-dev, I
get an FTBFS. Looks like it is from the newer libraw1394:

vidinput_avc.cxx: In member function 'virtual BOOL
PVideoInputDevice_1394AVC::Start()':
vidinput_avc.cxx:170: error: 'raw1394_set_iso_handler' was not declared
in this scope
vidinput_avc.cxx: In member function 'virtual BOOL
PVideoInputDevice_1394AVC::GetFrameDataNoDelay(BYTE*, PINDEX*)':
vidinput_avc.cxx:376: error: 'raw1394_start_iso_rcv' was not declared in
this scope
vidinput_avc.cxx:420: error: 'raw1394_stop_iso_rcv' was not declared in
this scope
make[4]: *** [../pwlib/device/videoinput/avc_pwplugin.so] Error 1

I was concerned that it might be related to using libdc1394-22-dev so I
built the original and get the following problem with build-dependencies:

The following packages are BROKEN:
 libdc1394-13

We want to get rid of libdc1394-13 so while fixing this, please also
update the libdc1394-13-dev build-dep to libdc1394-22-dev.

Thanks,

Barry deFreese

Hi,

If we update build-dep to libdc1394-22-dev, the compilation stops,
because -22- does not provide the function 'raw1394_set_iso_handler'.
Isn't -22- backward compatible with -13-?

Bug#519108: pwlib-titan FTBFS

2009-03-10 Thread Barry deFreese

Eugen Dedu wrote:

Barry deFreese wrote:

Package: pwlib-titan
Version: 1.11.2-2
Severity: Serious

Hi,

While trying to see if pwlib-titan would build with libdc1394-22-dev,
I get an FTBFS. Looks like it is from the newer libraw1394:

vidinput_avc.cxx: In member function 'virtual BOOL
PVideoInputDevice_1394AVC::Start()':
vidinput_avc.cxx:170: error: 'raw1394_set_iso_handler' was not declared
in this scope
vidinput_avc.cxx: In member function 'virtual BOOL
PVideoInputDevice_1394AVC::GetFrameDataNoDelay(BYTE*, PINDEX*)':
vidinput_avc.cxx:376: error: 'raw1394_start_iso_rcv' was not declared in
this scope
vidinput_avc.cxx:420: error: 'raw1394_stop_iso_rcv' was not declared in
this scope
make[4]: *** [../pwlib/device/videoinput/avc_pwplugin.so] Error 1

I was concerned that it might be related to using libdc1394-22-dev so I
built the original and get the following problem with
build-dependencies:

The following packages are BROKEN:
  libdc1394-13

We want to get rid of libdc1394-13 so while fixing this, please also
update the libdc1394-13-dev build-dep to libdc1394-22-dev.

Hi,

If we update build-dep to libdc1394-22-dev, the compilation stops,
because -22- does not provide the function 'raw1394_set_iso_handler'.
Isn't -22- backward compatible with -13-?

Actually I may have inadvertently put the errors from pwlib here. But
the raw1394_* functions are broken because of libraw1394 not libdc1394.
There might be issues with libdc1394-22 but not this particular problem.

Thanks,

Barry deFreese

 ... and dictionaries-common gets remove before myspell-en-us.

which should never happen, unless apt is buggy.

Looking at the logs, seems that failure is pretty random. As a matter of fact
there was no such failure in 0.7.6-7. Furthermore, compiz 0.7.6-7 seems to not
use at all myspell-en-us,

0.7.6-7+b1 [amd64 i386] also fail, but for the other arches myspell-en-us is
not even used at all.

For 0.7.6-8 [ia64] myspell-en-us is again used and failure happens, but not
for any other arch. Again for all other arches there is no mention of
myspell-en-us.

Seems we have a serious problem with the autobuilders, not with myspell-en-us.
apt seems to sometimes behave badly and load unrelated packages
(myspell-en-us is not in Build-depends and looking at it I cannot imagine
which package has pulled it)

Bug#519123: midori: soup_uri_decode implicitly converted to pointer

2009-03-10 Thread dann frazier
Package: midori
Version: 0.1.4-1
Severity: serious
Tags: patch
Usertags: implicit-pointer-conversion

Our automated buildd log filter[1] detected a problem that is likely to
cause your package to segfault on architectures where the size of a
pointer is greater than the size of an integer, such as ia64 and amd64.

Function `soup_uri_decode' implicitly converted to pointer at
../midori/midori-view.c:2551

This is often due to a missing function prototype definition.
For more information, see [2].

Though it is guaranteed that this codepath will cause a segfault on certain
architectures, it is not guaranteed that this codepath would ever be executed
(e.g., if the returned pointer is never dereferenced). However, this bug
does prevent the ia64 buildd from successfully building this package, resulting
in a practical FTBFS issue and warranting the serious severity.

Package: wzdftpd
Version: 0.6.1-1
Severity: important

When stopping wzdftpd with /etc/init.d/wzdftpd stop, the init script
says it stopped the daemon, although it is still running. Using the init
script to restart wzdftpd just starts second instance. I'm not if sure
if reload works, but I think it doesn't.

This seems to be caused by wzdftpd not creating a pid file on startup,
the directory /var/run/wzdftpd/ stays empty. Maybe the -m flag should be
passed to start-stop-daemon?

Bug#519149: xen-3: does not really load bzImage kernels.

2009-03-10 Thread William Pitcock
Package: xen-hypervisor-3.2-1-amd64
Version: 3.2.1-2
Severity: serious

After noting that this version supposedly loads bzImage kernels:

| xen-3 (3.2.1-2) unstable; urgency=low
|
| * Use e2fslibs based ext2 support for pygrub. (closes: #476366)
| * Fix missing checks in pvfb code.
| See CVE-2008-1952. (closes: #487095)
| * Add support for loading bzImage files. (closes: #474509)
| * Enable TLS support in ioemu code.
| * Drop libcrypto usage because of GPL-incompatibility.
| * Remove AES code from blktap drivers. Considered broken.

I thought I might give it a try (right now I am running on xen-3.4 hg),
to see if I couldn't run the paravirt-ops work in production.

Seems I can't, as it complains that the kernel is not a valid ELF image.
But this image works under 3.4, as I am using it right now.

As the paravirt-ops work is the future of dom0 support, it is probably a
good idea to fix this in squeeze.

   Hi,

Your package is failing to purge:

Unfortunately that will happen for almost all myspell-*/hunspell-*. dicts...
They just depend on dictionaries-common ...

   for a log file.

  ... and dictionaries-common gets remove before myspell-en-us.

which should never happen, unless apt is buggy.

It gets installed when you don't have Install-Recommends turned
off.

Please note that you should never install any files in /usr/lib64/

Could you please point me to the policy that explains this ?

On amd64, /usr/lib64/ is a symlink to /usr/lib/.

If a package install something in /usr/lib64/ and that packages
gets removed, dpkg will think that the directory /usr/lib64/ is
empty and remove the symlink.

Has that changed in autobuilders since September? Is also strange that
0.7.6-7+b1 [i386] shown this problem last Sunday, but not today.

Anyway, why is dictionaries-common removed before myspell-en-us, and without
complaining? myspell-en-us depends on dictionaries-common, so that should not
happen. I tried to reproduce the problem in a chroot, but for every test
I tried myspell-en-us was always removed first. Is any --force option enabled
in some autobuilders?

apt seems to sometimes behave badly and load unrelated packages
(myspell-en-us is not in Build-depends and looking at it I cannot imagine
   which package has pulled it)

It gets installed when you don't have Install-Recommends turned
  off.

Has that changed in autobuilders since September? Is also strange that
0.7.6-7+b1 [i386] shown this problem last Sunday, but not today.

That I have no idea. Maybe they stopped installing recommends.

Anyway, why is dictionaries-common removed before myspell-en-us, and without
complaining? myspell-en-us depends on dictionaries-common, so that should not
 happen.

Policy is pretty clear on this. You can not rely on Depends being
present during the purge phase.

Bug#518862: vino: listening on :5900 even though /desktop/gnome/remote_access/enabled=false

2009-03-10 Thread andy bezella
Package: vino
Version: 2.24.1-2
Severity: normal

i can confirm this behavior.

the gconf key /desktop/gnome/remote_access/enabled is set to false but a
vino-server process is running and listening on port 5900.

i do not have vino-server in my ~/.gnome2/session.

to mitigate this i set /desktop/gnome/remote_access/local_only to true so
it listens to localhost only.

Bug#519170: Konqueror crashs cause entire X server to crash

2009-03-10 Thread M. McGowan
package: konqueror
version: 3.5.9
severity: critical

I have been running Konqueror on fvwm-crystal on Debian Lenny. A
number of times while using Konqueror, the entire X server crashed,
restarted, and showed the login screen. The problem usually occurred
after I had been using Konqueror with multiple tabs over a long period
of time.

I am not completely sure Konqueror is the problem. However, I believe
it is the most likely explanation, especially since I have often seen
kcrashes while running OpenBSD.

On OpenBSD, whenever Konqueror crashes, only Konqueror crashes, not
the entire X server. On OpenBSD, I also run fvwm, but with a different
configuration.

I suspect that perhaps this problem does not occur on OpenBSD because
of OpenBSD's propolice security feature, in which case perhaps this
bug should be re-assigned to gcc. However, I am not certain.

The Debian website says that the serious severity level should be
used for bugs which makes unrelated software on the system (or the
whole system) break, or causes serious data loss, or introduces a
security hole on systems where you install the package. Since this
causes unrelated software on the system (the X server and all
applications running on it) to break, and results in the loss of any
unsaved data in those other applications, I am marking this as
serious.

It might have been registered to the session manager, which now loads it

Just to confirm, does vino-server appear in your .gnome2/session file?

I don't have a .gnome2/session file. However,
System-Preferences-Sessions does show Remote Desktop in Startup

just fine, but this latest version is crashing for me. Here is the output

At what time does it crash? When Adding the plugin or when doing

Bug#516829: Http double slash request arbitrary file access vulnerability

2009-03-10 Thread Spiral Voice
Hi,

here is a copy of an email I wrote today:

Mehdi Dogguy schrieb:
  Hello,

I'm trying to understand why the submitted patch is enough to fix the
issue. More particularly, how /../ are removed from the url?

  Cheers,

Hi,

the fix for MLDonkey consists of two parts, first this patch which
removes leading slashes from the path/filename-part of an URL:

http://cvs.savannah.gnu.org/viewvc/mldonkey/src/utils/lib/url.ml?root=mldonkeyr1=1.9r2=1.10

This fixes http://mldonkey:4080//etc/passwd style attacks.

This was not enough however to fix the problem so I added this patch:

http://cvs.savannah.gnu.org/viewvc/mldonkey/src/daemon/driver/driverControlers.ml?root=mldonkeyr1=1.113r2=1.114

The old code worked like this:

If the file requested is not an MLDonkey command or an otherwise
internally defined file this code was called:

| s - http_send_bin r buf (String.lowercase s)

The function http_send_bin was extended in MLDonkey 2.8.4 to
check the internal commonPictures database which contains country
flags, if a file was not found there, File.to_string was called which
reads files from the local filesystem - bad idea.

So, the problem was created when country flags were added to
MLDonkey.

I changed the code shown above to

| s - http_send_bin_pictures r buf (String.lowercase s)

http_send_bin_pictures is basically the same function as
http_send_bin, but it only checks the commonPictures database
and does not read any files from the local disc - problem solved.

Cheers, spiralvoice

Comments/Problems:

I just wasted 4  hours trying to install in a DELL Vostro 200. After
detecting network and configuring it said that no hard drive can be
located. After some investigation in the console I found that the
kernel driver was loaded and that I was abble to mount the partitions.
But when I ran parted_devices I got a ldd error indicating that
libselinux.so.1 was not found. So I downloaded the stable (Lenny)
installer and it worked fine.

For some reason the libselinux.so.1 library is missing so the
partition tools don't work and the installer reports that it can't
detect the hard drive, but the hard drive is working fine.

Jaroslav,

I am bringing to your attention a bug report filed against the qrupdate
package in Debian [1]. The package is failing to build from source on
several architectures [2] with the following error:

gfortran -fimplicit-none -O3 -march=native -funroll-loops -fPIC -c caxcpy.f
f951: error: unrecognized command line option -march=native

It seems [3] that -march=native only works on i386 and amd64. Do you
think that we can drop this option from FFLAGS?

Bug#519206: evolution: Inbox mail is all gone with sqlite transition

2009-03-10 Thread José Alburquerque
Package: evolution
Version: 2.24.5-2
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Very bad what's happening. I recently imported all my folders from
icedove to evolution (removing old ones to save disk space). After
today's upgrade, evolution mentioned that it migrated folders to sqlite.
I don't know if it went well, but all of the mail in my Inbox (years of
mail) is no longer visible in the Inbox folder. I'm hoping that it's a
bug and the mails are there, but I'm terrified because the size of the
mbox Inbox file in .evolution/mail/local is zero. Someone please tell
me that my mail is sitll available!

Bug#519126: qrupdate fails to build in Debian on some architectures

2009-03-10 Thread peter green

The bug is about an optimisation flag that we shouldn't just get rid
of. At some point soon, I'll read the gcc manpage and figure out what
a proper flag for other architectures should be.

http://gcc.gnu.org/onlinedocs/gcc-4.3.3/gcc/i386-and-x86_002d64-Options.html#i386-and-x86_002d64-Options
has the following to say about -march=native

/native/
This selects the CPU to tune for at compilation time by determining
the processor type of the compiling machine. Using -mtune=native
will produce code optimized for the local machine under the
constraints of the selected instruction set. Using -march=native
will enable all instruction subsets supported by the local machine
(hence the result might not run on different machines).

In other words this flag is totally inappropriate for a binary distribution
like debian.

Robin, how about removing lamsarrow.sty from CTAN and then we will pick

 See #504880

While I see a relevant thing in last mail from Ian Jackson, it seems to
be mostly for corner cases, not for a normal use of the tools like should
be in autobuilders.

On the dictionaries side we could check from postrm if the script is present
before trying to run it, just to be more graceful with the corner cases Ian
points out. As a matter of fact Ian's mail convinced me about that, but that
is now a wishlist in dictionaries-common and dictionaries policy, and not at
all a serious bug, current (buggy) policy text is honoured, and problem only
appears in corner cases.

However, I keep thinking there is something wrong with autobuilders. Looking
at the ia64 compiz build log, I see that packages are unpacked, and before
they are configured, there is an error in unpacking lm-sensors,

Unpacking lm-sensors (from .../lm-sensors_1%3a3.1.0-1_ia64.deb) ...

After that, packages are removed *in alphabetical order*, probably because
they were not previously configured (I did not test the removal with
deconfigured packages, so I did not noticed about this) and the
reported error is about myspell-en-us, and not about the real original
problem, lm-sensors (noticed that you also filed a bug report about that, so
this should no longer be a problem). Showing only the last error in the
final report instead of all problems found looks like a bug in the
autobuilders.

Asking autobuilders to run dpkg --configure --pending before actually
removing packages should have also worked around this problem, making
removal work in the correct ordering.

Cheers,

Hello,

skytools depends on python-psycopg, which is not supported anymore by

Hi,

in aterm.postinst one can read:

# Add an alternative for aterm
update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/aterm aterm \
/usr/bin/aterm-xterm 30

which is incorrect because /usr/bin/aterm is a binary installed by
the terminator package and not a generic name.

P.S: please see Bug #509667 for more information.

Bug#519181: [Pkg-xfce-devel] Bug#519181: xfce4-sensors-plugin: Latest version crashes with backtrace

2009-03-10 Thread Dave Witbrodt

Yves-Alexis Perez wrote:

At what time does it crash? When Adding the plugin or when doing
something precise? Would it be possible to attach a gdb and provide a
backtrace?

The plugin had already been configured to appear on the panel when
I upgraded several days ago. Upgrading caused the plugin to
disappear, which I found strange, so started checking the logs for
errors. I found a backtrace, though slightly different than the one I
posted in this bug report.
I decided to restart the X server, in case some miscommunication
was happening as the result of numerous packages being upgraded at
once. The plugin did not reappear, but I did get another backtrace.

I am attaching the original backtrace errors, though I'm not sure
they are more helpful than the one I sent today.

I thought it was likely that this was a problem not limited to
myself, so I chose to wait and see if an updated package would appear.
Using Sid, I'm used to quick updates on broken packages, so I just
reverted to the older plugin for a while.
Since no new package appeared, and no one else filed a bug report,
I decided that no one else is experiencing the crash. (Or I'm the
only Debian user actually using the plugin! ;) Therefore, I submitted
the report with the newest backtrace today.
For the bug report, I temporarily reinstalled the new version, so
that 'reportbug' would automatically show the correct versions and
dependencies. I have now gone back to old version so that I can have
a working plugin.

  To answer your questions directly:

- the plugin crashed when installed, and when attempting to add it
back to the panel. Not when doing some specific function of the
plugin, because it simply will not run for me.

- I have never used 'gdb', but it's something I need and want to
learn. I have no time tonight, and tomorrow I have to work, so it's
very likely that I will not be able to experiment with 'gdb' until the
day after tomorrow. (In the meantime, can you provide some
instructions on what you would like me to do, or direct me to a web
page with appropriate instructions?)

Thanks,
Dave W.

Bug#519219: jabref: Exception during peer initialization

2009-03-10 Thread ben
Package: jabref
Version: 2.3.1-6
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

I just updated Debian to the latest Unstable (in other words,
perhaps I deserve what I get...). The window manager (sawfish) draws
a window, and nothing appears in it. It even resizes to the correct
(saved) size at some point, and then Java throws more exceptions, and
nothing is drawn in the window.

Upon starting jabref:
