Bug#574201: Intent to NMU b2evolution to fix pending po-debconf l10n bugs (and maybe RC bug as well)
Hi! * Christian PERRIER bubu...@debian.org [100325 08:06]: The b2evolution Debian package, which you are the maintainer of, has pending bug report(s) which include translation updates or fixes for po-debconf, namely bug number 552702 (and maybe other similar bugs). Fixing #574201 could also be possible (apparently a missing Depends). While looking through RC bugs I found your mail about #574201. I saw that you in the meantime uploaded your l10n fixing NMU, but I don't see anything about the RC one. Do you know the status of this bug? Did it turn out to be more than a missing dependency? And the real answer to this would be to convert this package to use m-a rather than it's home-grown alternative (which predates the availability of m-a). Installing matching headers for your kernel is the short term workaround. I'm not really sure what to do with this one now. Popcon shows a rather surprising number of users, but I have a hard time believing it. The laptop I had with one of these in it is all but dead, and I'm not aware of anything newer using these. I'm tempted to just have the package removed, as I can't usefully test it anymore, but if some actual users put their hand up and give it some actual love, I don't mind continuing to sponsor its presence in the distro... Bug#563519: license of Class::DBI::Loader::Relationship
Hi Chunzi, The perl module you maintain Class::DBI::Loader::Relationship was packaged as libclass-dbi-loader-relationship-perl in Debian. However, unfortunately, it has now been removed from Debian since lack of mentions to its license term. See http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=563519 But most of us want to back it to Debian, it needs to YOUR help to distribute it again. Bug#560522: [patch]: qd: FTBFS: configure.ac:315: error: possibly undefined macro: AC_PROG_LIBTOOL
Hi, When I ran debuild, it says aclocal.m4:16: warning: this file was generated for autoconf 2.62. You have another version of autoconf. It may work, but is not guaranteed to. If you have problems, you may need to regenerate the build system entirely. To do so, use the procedure documented by the package, typically `autoreconf'. Bug#578907: albums do not show any pictures
After a crash of my system (it rarely happens with Debian, but apparently it is possible), I restarted it. I found out that Digikam is working as expected (so I can see all my photos in my albums). The crash had something to do with Digikam, because I got lots of messages in the terminal window (far too fast to read properly). It said something with Digikam and memory error. But, everything is all right now. I let you know if the problem should reoccur. Greetings Steven -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#578047: no reproducible build
Hi Bastian, Adam, you are saying that squid3's configure should fail if optional features cannot be built when requested via --enable- switches. Actually I've seen squid3 behavior in many different projects, so was not expecting it to do anything different. I will forward this request upstream and try to develop a patch against configure. Regards, L Il giorno 20/apr/2010, alle ore 19.04, Bastian Blank ha scritto: The build of Debian packages needs to be stable. It must not use state into count that depends on the environment except for build-depends and build-conflicts. squid3 uses a test to detect if ipv6 is supported on the current system, which may return false. Also it must support both split-stack and unified-stack on Linux. Bug#572817: ruby1.9: CVE-2009-4124 buffer overflow

Ruby1.9 is no longer available in unstable. I'm tempted to just ignore that bug (the patch from 1.9.1 doesn't apply to 1.9.0). this seems like a rather severe bug to ignore (arbitrary code execution). do you have a link to the patch? i still don't see it, but i've only quickly scanned mitre's links. perhaps someone else would be able to backport it. Ruby 1.9 is a development branch of Ruby, I don't think that anybody uses it for anything serious. should it be removed from lenny also? cc'ing security team for their input. mike -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#578047: no reproducible build
Luigi Gangitano wrote: Hi Bastian, Adam, you are saying that squid3's configure should fail if optional features cannot be built when requested via --enable- switches. Actually I've seen squid3 behavior in many different projects, so was not expecting it to do anything different. Yes Squid upstream believe in that behaviour as well. A fix is underway to correct this bug. Unfortunately it's deep in the autoconf code, so a simple patch won't be able to be passed down. 3.1.2 will have the correct build pass/fail you require when --enable-ipv6 is specified. Might be 10-15 days for 3.1.2 release though. The upstream fix will not enable Squid-3.1 to build on the failing buildd, only an update to make it support v6 in the kernel will do that. But this will at least make the broken builds finish in FTBS. Il giorno 20/apr/2010, alle ore 19.04, Bastian Blank ha scritto: The build of Debian packages needs to be stable. It must not use state into count that depends on the environment except for build-depends and build-conflicts. squid3 uses a test to detect if ipv6 is supported on the current system, which may return false. Also it must support both split-stack and unified-stack on Linux. I'm not sure what Bastian is talking about requiring split-stack for. The test which fails is the one which determines if v6 is able to build at all and is the pre-dependency test for detecting which stack type to build. spit-stack in Squid currently fails hard under upstream bug 2753. Setting to RC because the behaviour is not sufficient fixed. Ack, and agreed.
