Bug#577014: abcm2ps: diff for NMU version 5.9.13-0.1

2010-04-23 Thread Alexander Reichle-Schmehl
tags 577014 + patch
thanks

Dear maintainer,

I've prepared an NMU for abcm2ps (versioned as 5.9.13-0.1) and
uploaded it to DELAYED/15, as it introduces a new upstream version.
Please note, that I picked 5.9.13 instead of 5.9.12 as reported by
Moritz, as 5.9.13 is to Fix more security vulnerabilities.

Best regards,
  Alexander

PS: debscripts nmudiff shows all changes between the versions, however
my changes are just to copy your debian directory and adding a changelog
entry.

Bug#574201: Intent to NMU b2evolution to fix pending po-debconf l10n bugs (and maybe RC bug as well)

2010-04-23 Thread Alexander Reichle-Schmehl
Hi!

* Christian PERRIER bubu...@debian.org [100325 08:06]:

The b2evolution Debian package, which you are the maintainer of, has
pending bug report(s) which include translation updates or fixes
for po-debconf, namely bug number 552702 (and maybe other similar bugs).

Fixing #574201 could also be possible (apparently a missing Depends).

While looking through RC bugs I found your mail about #574201. I saw
that you in the meantime uploaded your l10n fixing NMU, but I don't see
anything about the RC one.

Do you know the status of this bug? Did it turn out to be more than a
missing dependency?

Bug#576453: ca-certificates-java: Doesn't install on openvz/lenny-sid

2010-04-23 Thread Matthias Klose

severity 576453 important
thanks

so why doesn't java work with openvz? We would certainly see more reports if the
jvm was broken on normal installs. I assume it's /proc/self/exe misleading the
jvm launcher.

Thanks. Unfortunately I still cannot reproduce the autobuild failures,

through the autobuilders.

Bug#578907: digikam: albums do not show any pictures

2010-04-23 Thread Steven Degrauwe
Package: digikam
Version: 2:1.1.0-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

I am using Digikam for almost 4 yeas now. Excellent package. But as of today I
cannot see any pictures in my album-folders (though they're there, I can browse
them with Dolphin or even Showfoto). This turns Digikam rather useless. I have
deleted my .db-files so Digikam could rebuild the database, with no result. A
rebuild of the thumbnails doesn't work either.

Bug#578893: cpad-kernel-source: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 2

2010-04-23 Thread Ron
On Fri, Apr 23, 2010 at 01:59:23PM +0200, Cyril Brulebois wrote:
 Package: cpad-kernel-source
 Version: 0.10-6.1
 Severity: serious
 Justification: Can't be configured

 Hi,

I just can't upgrade this package:
 | $ LC_ALL=C sudo apt-get -f install
 | [sudo] password for cyril:
 | Reading package lists... Done
 | Building dependency tree
 | Reading state information... Done
 | 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 45 not upgraded.
 | 1 not fully installed or removed.
 | After this operation, 0B of additional disk space will be used.
 | Setting up cpad-kernel-source (0.10-6.1) ...
 | Warning: kernel headers don't match running Linux version.
 | Building cpad module for Linux 2.6.32-3-amd64 (this may take a few
 minutes)...dpkg: error processing cpad-kernel-source (--configure):
 | subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 2
 | Errors were encountered while processing:
 | cpad-kernel-source
 | E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Adding some set -x in maintainer scripts:

The key part would seem to be this:

 | ++ uname -r
 | + '[' 2.6.32-3-amd64 = 2.6.32-4-amd64 ']'
 | + echo 'Warning: kernel headers don'\''t match running Linux version.'
 | Warning: kernel headers don't match running Linux version.

And the real answer to this would be to convert this package to
use m-a rather than it's home-grown alternative (which predates
the availability of m-a).

Installing matching headers for your kernel is the short term
workaround.

I'm not really sure what to do with this one now. Popcon shows a
rather surprising number of users, but I have a hard time believing
it. The laptop I had with one of these in it is all but dead, and
I'm not aware of anything newer using these.

I'm tempted to just have the package removed, as I can't usefully
test it anymore, but if some actual users put their hand up and
give it some actual love, I don't mind continuing to sponsor its
presence in the distro...

Cheers,
Ron

Bug#563519: license of Class::DBI::Loader::Relationship

2010-04-23 Thread Hideki Yamane
Hi Chunzi,

The perl module you maintain Class::DBI::Loader::Relationship was packaged
 as libclass-dbi-loader-relationship-perl in Debian.

However, unfortunately, it has now been removed from Debian since lack of
mentions to its license term. See
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=563519

But most of us want to back it to Debian, it needs to YOUR help to distribute
 it again.

Could you consider to add it to source code, please?

 # it would also fix some serious Debian bugs...

Bug#574296: [unreproducible]: most: FTBFS: ld: cannot find -ltermcap

2010-04-23 Thread Hideki Yamane
Hi,

I tried to reproduce it, but I couldn't. So, I would tag this as
unreproducible.

 cd /build/user-most_5.0.0a-1-amd64-Bso0Zo/most-5.0.0a/src/objs; gcc buffer.o
 cmd.o display.o edit.o file.o help.o
keym.o keyparse.o line.o main.o most.o search.o sysdep.o window.o -o most
-lslang -ltermcap -lm

 However, I got
 cd /tmp/buildd/most-5.0.0a/src/objs; gcc buffer.o cmd.o display.o edit.o
 file.o help.o keym.o keyparse.o line.o
  main.o most.o search.o sysdep.o window.o -o most -lslang
-lm

Where does termcap come from? interesting.

Bug#560522: [patch]: qd: FTBFS: configure.ac:315: error: possibly undefined macro: AC_PROG_LIBTOOL

2010-04-23 Thread Hideki Yamane
Hi,

When I ran debuild, it says
aclocal.m4:16: warning: this file was generated for autoconf 2.62.
You have another version of autoconf. It may work, but is not guaranteed to.
If you have problems, you may need to regenerate the build system entirely.
To do so, use the procedure documented by the package, typically `autoreconf'.

I added autoreconf in debian/rules for that and built fine.
 Please check attached patch, thanks.

Bug#578907: albums do not show any pictures

2010-04-23 Thread Steven Degrauwe
After a crash of my system (it rarely happens with Debian, but apparently it
is possible), I restarted it. I found out that Digikam is working as expected
(so I can see all my photos in my albums). The crash had something to do with
Digikam, because I got lots of messages in the terminal window (far too fast
to read properly). It said something with Digikam and memory error.
But, everything is all right now. I let you know if the problem should
reoccur.

Greetings

Bug#574201: Intent to NMU b2evolution to fix pending po-debconf l10n bugs (and maybe RC bug as well)

2010-04-23 Thread Christian PERRIER
Quoting Alexander Reichle-Schmehl (toli...@debian.org):

While looking through RC bugs I found your mail about #574201. I saw
that you in the meantime uploaded your l10n fixing NMU, but I don't see
 anything about the RC one.

I probably forgot to fix it when it became time to upload.

Do you know the status of this bug? Did it turn out to be more than a
 missing dependency?

Probably not. So, I think that another NMU is safe.

Bug#559893: monotone-server: hooks.lua.base is outdated

2010-04-23 Thread Alexander Reichle-Schmehl
Hi!

* Richard Levitte rich...@levitte.org [091207 17:42]:

Unfortunately, hooks.lua.base hasn't been updated accordingly, with
the result that /etc/init.d/monotone will not be able to start mtn,
thereby making this package unusable to all except those that are
willing and knowlegable enough to hack hooks.lua.base or
 /etc/monotone/hooks.lua.

Could it be that this bug has been fixed in the meantime? I just tried
it with a clean chroot, and while 0.45-2 indeed failed to start for me,
I had no problems with 0.47-1 from unstable.

Should this bug marked as fixed in 0.47-1, or do I miss something?

Best Regards,
  Alexander

Bug#578047: no reproducible build

2010-04-23 Thread Luigi Gangitano
Hi Bastian, Adam,
you are saying that squid3's configure should fail if optional features cannot
be built when requested via --enable- switches.

Actually I've seen squid3 behavior in many different projects, so was not
expecting it to do anything different.

I will forward this request upstream and try to develop a patch against
configure.

Regards,

L

Setting to RC because the behaviour is not sufficient fixed.

Bug#578928: gdm3: gives shell-access as user Debian-gdm to everyone

2010-04-23 Thread Johann Felix Soden
Package: gdm3
Version: 2.30.0-2
Severity: grave
Tags: security
Justification: user security hole

If I enable the screen-reader in the login manager, a gnome-terminal window is
opened. There everyone can get shell access as user Debian-gdm by creating a
new profile.

The following processes are running:

gnome-terminal -x /usr/bin/orca --no-setup --disable main-window --disable
magnifier --enable speech
/usr/bin/python -c import orca.orca; orca.orca.main() --no-setup --disable
main-window --disable magnifier --enable speech

After enabling and disabling the screen reader several times,
the gnome-terminal window disappears immediately each time. Only the python
process keeps running. This behaviour continues until gdm3 is restarted.

I'll probably open a bug against each and every package FTBFSing due to
this since they're RC buggy, even if that's gdc's fault, and then have
them blocked-by.

Hi,

For all such bugs (removed packages, bugs no longer reproducible, etc),
if you are sure that the bug can be closed, you can close it yourself.

Once every 2-3 months, I look at all the packages against which I filed
FTBFS RC bugs, and if I can build them in my latest rebuild, I close the
bugs. But that's not an automated process. If you want to help with that,
note that by rebuild results are available in svn at
http://svn.debian.org/viewsvn/collab-qa/archive-rebuilds/
(OK, I apparently forgot to commit the two most recent rebuilds, this is
fixed now).

Bug#578953: No clamd causes clamassassin to crash fetchmail

2010-04-23 Thread Christof Thalhofer
Package: clamassassin
Version: 1.2.4-1
Severity: critical
Justification: causes serious data loss

If clamav-daemon is not running, clamassassin adds wrong headers to the mail
ist should be inspecting.
This breaks fetchmail, if fetchmail is configured to fetch from the mailserver
and delete the mail afterwards.
Fetchmail will not fetch the email, but will delete it! Maybe this is also a
bug in fetchmail.

To reproduce it:

mailserver:/# /etc/init.d/clamav-daemon stop
Stopping ClamAV daemon: clamd.
mailserver:/# echo test | clamassassin
X-Virus-Status: Failed
X-Virus-Report: clamdscan error 2
X-Virus-Checker-Version: clamassassin 1.2.4 with clamdscan / ERROR: Can't
connect to clamd: No such file or directory
ClamAV 0.95.3

test

The line ClamAV 0.95.3, added by clamassassin is obviously a false email
header.

 Hi Michael,

The version of ruby1.9 in lenny seems to be affected. Ruby1.9 is no
longer available in unstable. I'm tempted to just ignore that bug (the
 patch from 1.9.1 doesn't apply to 1.9.0).

this seems like a rather severe bug to ignore (arbitrary code
execution). do you have a link to the patch? i still don't see it, but
i've only quickly scanned mitre's links. perhaps someone else would be
able to backport it.

Ruby 1.9 is a development branch of Ruby, I don't think that anybody
 uses it for anything serious.

should it be removed from lenny also?

cc'ing security team for their input.

Bug#578047: no reproducible build

2010-04-23 Thread Amos Jeffries

Luigi Gangitano wrote:

Hi Bastian, Adam,
you are saying that squid3's configure should fail if optional features cannot
be built when requested via --enable- switches.

Actually I've seen squid3 behavior in many different projects, so was not
expecting it to do anything different.

Yes Squid upstream believe in that behaviour as well. A fix is underway
to correct this bug. Unfortunately it's deep in the autoconf code, so a
simple patch won't be able to be passed down.

3.1.2 will have the correct build pass/fail you require when
--enable-ipv6 is specified. Might be 10-15 days for 3.1.2 release though.

The upstream fix will not enable Squid-3.1 to build on the failing
buildd, only an update to make it support v6 in the kernel will do that.
But this will at least make the broken builds finish in FTBS.

Il giorno 20/apr/2010, alle ore 19.04, Bastian Blank ha scritto:

The build of Debian packages needs to be stable. It must not use state
into count that depends on the environment except for build-depends and
build-conflicts.

squid3 uses a test to detect if ipv6 is supported on the current system,
which may return false. Also it must support both split-stack and
unified-stack on Linux.

I'm not sure what Bastian is talking about requiring split-stack for.
The test which fails is the one which determines if v6 is able to build
at all and is the pre-dependency test for detecting which stack type to
build. spit-stack in Squid currently fails hard under upstream bug 2753.

Setting to RC because the behaviour is not sufficient fixed.

Ack, and agreed.

Bug#569804: Bug Status

2010-04-23 Thread Jared Johnson
I'm in agreement with Alexander. Icedove upgraded and removed enigmail and
iceowl extensions. It
looks like ice-owl is present in my kept section now, but I would like to know
the status for
engimail to be matched with icedove 3.x?

Thanks,

Jared Johnson

 Hi,
please replace /usr/bin/sweethome with the attached one.

 Does it work?

Unfortunately only startup splash is shown and application freeezes
after printing the following error to stderr:

Java 3D WARNING : reported GLX version = 1.2
GLX version 1.3 or higher is required
The reported version number may be incorrect. There is a known
ATI driver bug in glXQueryVersion that incorrectly reports the GLX
version as 1.2 when it really is 1.3, so Java 3D will attempt to
run anyway.
