 Hello,
on opening the webpage for phpldapadmin I just get following error:

Would you please try to remove your /etc/phpldapadmin/config.php and run
dpkg-reconfigure phpldapadmin, or otherwise manually upgrade your config
file?

I'm sorry, but no automatic upgrade can be performed for the configuration
file, which changed between the releases; the best I can do is to document
such a change in README.Debian and/or NEWS.Debian.

Best regards,
Fabio

Package: digikam
Version: 2:1.1.0-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

I am using Digikam for almost 4 yeas now. Excellent package. But as of today I
cannot see any pictures in my album-folders (though they're there, I can browse
them with Dolphin or even Showfoto). This turns Digikam rather useless. I have
deleted my .db-files so Digikam could rebuild the database, with no result. A
rebuild of the thumbnails doesn't work either.

Hi,

as the binNMUs have reached testing by now, libdbd-sybase-perl can be
updated to add a dependency on perl-dbdabi-*. I have prepared a patch
to do this. It also resolves several of lintian's warnings about the
packaging.

Ansgar

Bug#579008: ocrfeeder: included module 'util' breaks exfalso/quodlibet

2010-04-24 Thread Stephan Braun
Package: ocrfeeder
Version: 0.6.6-1
Severity: critical
Tags: sid
Justification: breaks unrelated software

After installing ocrfeeder the included module 'util' is installed for
system wide python access. This breaks exfalso/quodlibet, because they
try to access their own 'util' module, but get the one of ocrfeeder
instead and therefore crash at startup.

Sun Java 5 is end-of-lifed in October, see
http://www.j2ee.me/products/archive/eol.policy.html

Since security issues are frequent and cannot be fixed w/o the
source, we should probably not include it in Squeeze and remove
it from the archive.

Cheers,

Bug#579013: eric: Segmentation fault at start

2010-04-24 Thread Federico Ceratto
Package: eric
Version: 4.4.3-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Hello,

After a dist-upgrade on Debian Sid, eric is segfaulting immediatly after
execution as in bugs #534178 #532772

The behavior is not affected by having LANG=en_US.UTF-8 or LANG=C:

$ eric
Segmentation fault

python-kde3 o 4 are not installed. Having python-sip4, python-sip-dev, python-
sip4-dev installed or not does not change its behavior.

Hello,

The liblivemedia-dev packages applies a patch explicitly licensed under
the GPL. In my understanding, this makes the resulting binaries GPL.

Yet the copyright file claims Debian provides the package under LGPL.
Please remove the setlocale patch or fix the licensing informations.

Thanks in advance,

Filling bugreports to authors of compliant software is not a good practice.

FWIW, this also breaks IPv6 applications running under WINE, since WINE does

LocalSocketGroup was already set to clamav, and the mode is 666.

dpkg-reconfigure for clamav didn't appear to do anything, no files
altered in /etc/clamav

dpkg-reconfigure clamav-base asked questions, no files changed.

dpkg-reconfigure clamav-daemon asked questions, no files changed.

dpkg-reconfigure clamav-freshclam asked questions, no files

Bug#578607: icedtea + noscript = browser crash

2010-04-24 Thread Hideki Yamane
Hi,

 I tested as below cases

 firefox + sun-java + noscript = works
 firefox + sun-java= works
 firefox + icedtea + noscript = crashes
 firefox + icedtea = works
 iceweasel + sun-java + noscript = works
 iceweasel + sun-java= works
 iceweasel + icedtea + noscript = crashes
 iceweasel + icedtea = works

  * note: iceweasel = 3.5.9 and 3.6.3
firefox is tested on Ubuntu 10.04 in kvm, when I use sun-java in
firefox,
those are downloaded one, not package.

This result means icedtea + noscript = browser crash

 And if net.ipv6.bindv6only=1 in /etc/sysctl.d/bindv6only.conf,
sun-java does not work (you know).

Also I tried to select with update-java-alternatives, but somehow it doesn't
 work well.

$ sudo update-java-alternatives -l
java-6-openjdk 1061 /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk
java-6-sun 63 /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun
$ sudo update-java-alternatives -s java-6-openjdk
$ ls /etc/alternatives/mozilla-javaplugin.so -al
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 57 2010-04-24 23:14
/etc/alternatives/mozilla-javaplugin.so -
/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk/jre/lib/i386/IcedTeaPlugin.so
 - however sun-java plugin works...
$ aptitude remove sun-java6-plugin
 - icedtea works

After the 4 dpkg-reconfigure runs, things seem to be working.
That was the end result mentioned above. That nothing in
/etc/clamav changed after the fresh re-install (after purging) was
interesting.

It is hard to see the config files as being broken, if they
weren't changed by any of the dpkg-reconfigure runs.

As I asked, I could easily purge them all again, and reinstall
again, to check other things (/var/run ?). Something must have
changed, in order for things to be working now, but not after the
initial install.

Bug#579028: pbuilder: installs untrusted packages without asking

2010-04-24 Thread Ansgar Burchardt
Package: pbuilder
Version: 0.196
Severity: grave
Tags: security
Justification: user security hole

Hi,

pbuilder will by default install packages from untrusted sources. This
means the system can be compromised by a man in the middle providing
malicious packages. There also seems no way to get pbuilder to stop
doing so.

pbuilder should (in the default configuration) not install packages that
are not trusted, only when the user explicitly requests this explicitly.

Also when creating the chroot with debootstrap, the --keyring option
should be used so that debootstrap will check for a valid signature.

Regards,
Ansgar

 It seems a videodriver problem.

I think that there are no problem with my video, because installed by
hand version 2.3 of sweethome3D works well (I use java -jar
SweetHome3D-2.3.jar to start it. It shows the same warning about GLX
version, but starts successfully).

So I think that the root cause of the problem is an incomplete or broken
CLASSPATH.

Depending on videocard, maybe you need to update the driver to the non-free:

I already have non-free driver installed.

These are almost certainly sporadic test failures caused by badly
written tests. It's fixed in the git repo.

I just tried checking out the git repo to build a package, and I'm still
getting 3 failed tests (out of 391 this time). Just to check I did things
right since I'm not familiar with git, topgit, etc., I did:

Hi,

first of all that snackoil certificate is created by ssl-cert, not by
ca-certificates. Secondly ca-certificates does only touch symlinks and
the bundle. Thirdly the server.crt symlink that broke everything and that
was described as not being created manually is none of ca-certificates's
business neither.

I refrain to reassign this old bug to ssl-cert. If it is reproducible,
another bug might be opened referring to this one.

Sorry, Andres, I should have said valid RC bug in ca-certificates
instead.

Kind regards,

window (I can still click and cause actions, but I can't see the
pointer) and reappear if I move the mouse outside OpenTTD window and
 then back inside.
[...]
I tried downgrading libsdl from 1.2.14-5 back to 1.2.14-4+b1 and it
fixed the issue with disappearing mouse pointer, so I think libSDL is
 the root cause.

Yep, looks like this is the result of my fix in -5, partially reverting
an upstream mouse-related patch in order to make wesnoth work.

Happily, however, some testing (using fvwm) suggests that reverting the
remaining portion of that upstream patch is enough to make both wesnoth
and openttd work, at least in a brief test of each on my laptop.

I've attached a new patch to this mail and uploaded pre-built amd64
binaries to http://alioth.debian.org/~adsb/sdl1.2/. Any testing of those
would be appreciated, as I'd like to finally get an updated libsdl1.2
(and the packages blocked behind it) in to testing.

Regards,

Adam

 Hi!

nodejs has been built against a version of libv8 not available in
unstable. It is therefore uninstallable. Please request a rebuild.

I'm planning to update nodejs to 0.1.92 very soon,
so fixing this bug may be delayed until the new version is uploaded.

Very sorry for the inconvenience,
Jérémy.

Hello,

After a dist-upgrade on Debian Sid, eric is segfaulting immediatly after
execution as in bugs #534178 #532772

The behavior is not affected by having LANG=en_US.UTF-8 or LANG=C:

$ eric
Segmentation fault

python-kde3 o 4 are not installed. Having python-sip4, python-sip-dev, python-
sip4-dev installed or not does not change its behavior.

Shouldn't this package be removed from Debian? Looks like it is

Bug#576660: Intent to NMU

2010-04-24 Thread Margarita Manterola
Hi!

I have prepared an NMU that fixes this problem. I have been able to
reproduce the problem by installing install-info in the build environment,
and then fix the problem by removing the dir file generated, in
debian/rules.

The diff is very simple. I'm attaching the interdiff output for both
packages.

According to the release policy, I'm going to upload this package to the
0-day delayed queue, so that this package gets in for the next dinstall
run.

be a workaround:
remove or edit $HOME/.java/.userPrefs/com/eteks/sweethome3d/io/prefs.xml

with
entry key=language value=en/

Please confirm that.
It will be fixed soon in the next release.

Bug#578413: not find the main class: com.eteks.sweethome3d.SweetHome3D.

2010-04-24 Thread Jerome Robert
I confirm the JAVA3D warning is harmless. I have it with all Java3D
application running with ATI hardware.

This is a localization problem.

The exception stack shows that resource icon#1 cannot be found. The source file
com/eteks/sweethome3d/io/DefaultFurnitureCatalog.properties tell that icon#1 is
/com/eteks/sweethome3d/io/resources/bed140x190.png. I guess that
com/eteks/sweethome3d/io/DefaultFurnitureCatalog_fr.properties (or any other
langage) should also contains icon#1.

A workaround is to run:
LANG= sweethome3d

Jerome

Bug#576513: gob2 segfaults on non-intel arches

Can you give me a backtrace or some other debugging information?

I’ll try to obtain a backtrace some other day. I need to get access to a

Do you have any idea why your code would segfault on non-intel
architectures? It’s written in plain C, isn’t it?

These are almost certainly sporadic test failures caused by badly
written tests.

Turns out they were new failures caused by an updated qdox version in
Debian. I will disable the failing tests. Thanks for reporting!

Bug#579078: libpam-ssh: Missing versioned dependency on X for pam-auth-update

2010-04-24 Thread Petter Reinholdtsen
Package: libpam-ssh
Version: 1.92-12
Severity: serious
User: debian-...@lists.debian.org
UserTags: debian-edu

When testing an upgrade from Lenny to testing, the libpam-ssh package
fail to configure because it was unable to find pam-auth-update. I
believe it need a versioned dependency on libpam-runtime to make sure
it is available. This is the failure during upgrade:

  Setting up libpam-ssh (1.92-12) ...
  /var/lib/dpkg/info/libpam-ssh.postinst: 26: pam-auth-update: not found
  dpkg: error processing libpam-ssh (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 127

Not sure which version of pam-auth-update it need to depend on.

Setting severity to seriuos, as this is in violation of the Debian
policy stating that everything the postinst needs to work should be
listed as a dependency.

Happy hacking,

See my other mail to the bug. It was configured (I remember from the
output on the screen) successfully (no error message) right before
texlive-base, but the configuration attempt of texlive-base
unconfigured it.

Now that I reinstalled texlive-binaries, it stays configured even
after dpkg --configure texlive-binaries fails. Naturally,
configuring texlive-base is not even attempted because it depends on
texlive-binaries.

Unfortunately, I found out it only works with locale en and this could
 be a workaround:
 remove or edit $HOME/.java/.userPrefs/com/eteks/sweethome3d/io/prefs.xml
 file replacing
entry key=language value=XX/(your XX is probably ru)
 with
 entry key=language value=en/

 Please confirm that.
It will be fixed soon in the next release.

Yes, this workaround solves the problem. Now sweethome3d started
successfully.

Cleaning the LANG variable does not helps anyway, but setting LC_ALL to
en_US.UTF-8 can can work-around the problem is there are no prefs.xml
file in the user preferences location.

It seems aptitude's idea of reinstalling is not my idea of it: it does
*not* re-unpack it, only reconfigures it. So I manually ran:

$ sudo dpkg --install tex-common_2.07_all.deb texlive-binaries_2009-5_amd64.deb
texlive-base_2009-8_all.deb

And now tex-common and texlive-binaries succeeded to configure and
we're back to the starting situation: texlive-base fails to configure
and its configuration attempt unconfigures tex-common.

This, BTW suggests that the postinst of texlive-binaries is not
idempotent (policy 6.2).
