I don't see any change in the Git repository to fix this bug. Can you please re-check again or explain? debdiff doesn't show anything Thanks for noticing, I certainly didn't. The idea was to remove those files during the build process and thus work around the buggy orig tarball until a new upstream version comes out which then gets a corrected orig tarball. However, as you noticed, the one line change in debian/rules is missing. Don't ask me what happeened I have no idea. After all the changelog entry did make it it. Bug#593331: eucalyptus-cloud: Eucalyptus cloud controller and walrus does not start
Package: eucalyptus-cloud Version: 1.6.2-2 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable I have debian squeeze updated today (17.08.2010) with kernel 2.6.32-5. After installation eucalyptus-cloud, eucalyptus-cc and eucalyptus-walrus, eucalyptus-cloud service does not start. Cluster controller seems to work fine (at least it listens on tcp port). Eucalyptus-cloud and walrus do not even listen on their ports (8443, 8773). After the same dist-upgrade (13.08.2010) everything works fine. I have already solved #593254 and #589815. Hello! Am Dienstag, 17. Bug#591648: [workaround] doxygen segfaults on kfreebsd-*, hppa
Hi, I am unable to trace that down, but disabling multiple threads during dot run avoids the segfault. hppa-porters, please take a look whether similar workaround works also for your pet architecture. So far at least clp, soprano, schroot are affected. Dear doxygen maintainer, please apply the workaround bellow, until the real cause is found. Bug#593331: [pkg-eucalyptus-maintainers] Bug#593331: eucalyptus-cloud: Eucalyptus cloud controller and walrus does not start
Just a hunch. Could you please reinstall the previous version of libhibernate? This has been updated to 3.5.4.Final very recently and while reading hibernate so often in your report below this just kind of triggers me thinking that we might possibly first search there. To get there, you'd sudo apt-get install libhibernate3-java=3.3.2.GA-2 Should that version not be available any more on the Debian servers (it should) then you'd find it on snapshot.debian.org . Sorry for the hassle that this update brought and thank you for your report. Running freemat from an empty subdirectory works. But this still does not help when running via the Applications menu, as applications started there run from ~. Bug#367347: Missing attibution [...]
Hi there, Since this is an RC bug (thanks to the attribution issue), I guess that the best way to quickly solve this is to: 1) split this bug in two, one for the inclusion of two different .cow files (wishlist, even if .cow's are harmless, I guess that adding them at this point would be a policy violation, and the best way would be to ask upstream to add them anyway), and the other for the licensing issues; 2) since there are no fundament for the suspicion that some .cow files have attribution missing (besides kitty.cow), either than the fact that if it happened to one, it might have happen to other we can assume that the only faulty .cow is kitty.cow 3) I've seen kitty ASCII from kitty.cow in three different ways (with Felix Lee, with fl and without anything) -- as a matter of fact there are also two different variants of it, one with spaces in the paws and other without them -- but I think there's no dispute anywhere regarding if it is by Felix or not, so just to be sure we can add either Felix Lee or fl to this .cow file, and have the RC part of this bug fixed. Do you want to replace it? The file already exists in /home/user03. Replacing it will overwrite its contents. - click on Yes - the whole directory bin you selected has just become your screencast named bin :-( I think it should not be possible doing this. Bug#586328: gtk-doc-tools: Upgrade fails: ERROR: emacsen-common being used before being configured.
On Sat, Jun 26, 2010 at 10:00:36AM +0200, Josselin Mouette wrote: This is a serious WTF in emacsen-common and/or emacs itself. It’s not appropriate to add a dependency on emacsen-common just for the sake of including support for an editor. The bug (CCed) has been known for 8 years, so I’ll assume it won’t be fixed and will simply drop emacs support from gtk-doc. There's still a problem with this, and it's that the startup file 50gtk-doc-tools.el uses the dir where compiled elisp files are, so Emacs won't find gtk-doc in its load-path. Can we set it to /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/gtk-doc-tools instead ? Berto -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Bug#592720: patch suggestion
2010/8/12 Luk Bettale luk.bett...@lip6.fr: I exprienced the bug too and this is the same bug as bug #591925. Here is my diagnostic This comes from the 'called-interactively-p' function line 644 of the file /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/dictionaries-common/flyspell.el (provided by the package dictionaries-common). I am not an elisp expert but I think this is due to an update of the called- interactively-p function which does not take optional argument anymore. This can be fixed by replacing in line 644 : (called-interactively-p 'interactive)) by (called-interactively-p)) It works for me. Thanks for looking at this, I thought I tested it for emacs 23.1, but I am not at a sid box, so I cannot recheck now if things changed during 23.1 lifetime. The problem is that `called- interactively-p' takes no argument for backported Emacs 23.1 I am using now for testing, but will take a mandatory argument for Emacs 23.2 (where `interactive-p' will be declared obsolete), where original code was added, and does not exists neither for XEmacs nor for some older Emacs. I am more for the 'one size fits all' approach of something like (condition-case nil (called-interactively-p 'interactive) (error (interactive-p that seems to also work and be more portable. Let me think about this a bit more and test changes in a real sid box first when possible. Presumably any last.fm user account will have a player, though in the considerable time between me reporting this bug and now it appears that last.fm have changed their player so perhaps other web pages will need to be checked out. The last.fm player was far from unique when I last tried installing gnash. Right. I do not have a last.fm account (do not like their user agreement), so I can't test that. Bug#592615: flashplugin-nonfree: next to impossible to NMU the package
On Wed, Aug 11, 2010 at 03:41:17PM +0200, Gerfried Fuchs wrote: Package: flashplugin-nonfree Version: 1:2.8.1 Severity: serious Hi! The package contains a fixed URL to downloadurl from http://people.debian.org/~bartm/flashplugin-nonfree/ which isn't accessible by any other DD than bartm himself. Furthermore, it includes pubkey.asc which only contains a single key which is (hopefully) only shared amongst bartm himself: pub 4096R/3B5821CC 2009-06-15 uid Bart Martens ba...@knars.be uid Bart Martens ba...@debian.org sub 4096R/270D1D5B 2009-06-15 This makes the package almost impossible to update for others without changing the downloadurl (and creating a special space for it) and the included pubkey, to update for e.g. a new flash player version or anything else. I don't think this is what can be considered to match the DFSG and thus the package itself should go to non-free instead. I disagree. In a NMU you could just as well point the download URL to a different download page and sign it with your own key. The requirements imposed by the signed download are technically inherent and not a violation of the DFSG. Bug#481072: dk-filter crash seems to be for a specific use case (-k parameter)
On Mon, Aug 16, 2010 at 10:57:35AM +0300, Teodor MICU mteo...@gmail.com wrote: I've been checking the status of 'dk-filter' for squeeze and it is blocked for inclusion by this RC bug report. As far as I can see this reliable crash is reproduced only if you use the -k parameter. I don't use it (I don't have multiple domains) and I don't have crashes, I had only one this morning but that all for almost a year of working properly. I admit that I've been remiss in further investigating this because dk-filter has dropped quite a bit in importance. I'm using this feature myself, so I'm sure it's something to do with the submitter's local configuration. I never did get any strace output to allow me to dig into which of the three calls to dk_sterilize() is actually the issue. That said, I'm not convinced that removing the assert() is a bad idea. It's only used in three places, and in all of those places, it's protected with an if (results ==NULL) return -1. The dk-filter package in Debian is NOT shipping a libdk.so or libdk.a, so there's no risk of affecting any other packages were I to modify the function to e.g. if NULL return NULL in place of the assertion. From my point of view development of dk-filter has stopped and only dkim-filter is maintained properly. Thus this bug and the other I reported will have to be avoided as there are specific use cases. Actually, dkim-filter itself has stopped as well, for the time being, although it is quite stable. The primary contributors to the dkim-filter project have moved on to a fork, opendkim. In conclusion, can we downgrade the severity of this bug report so that at least we have the same version from lenny in squeeze too? If there are no objections I can do this at the end of the week, though it is better to be done by Mike Markley. I don't object, either, but I would also like input from the release team. I can chase that, if you'd like. -- Mike Markley m...@markley.org -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? First, thanks for reporting this. But I cannot reproduce this on unstable (in a clean pbuilder chroot), since the python-setuptools is new enough (for sid). While the behaviour of stable builds is not good (and the versioned dependency is incorrect), I don't think it warrants an RC status for this bug, as it doesn't affect sid/testing. A stable backport should indeed have better dependencies declared, but I'm not sure why you expect that the unstable version should be buildable in a stable environment *by default*. Please explain why you think this is RC… My proposal would be degrade to important, while I try to convince setuptools to do the right thing. regards, iustin signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Bug#593313: building strongswan
Hi, trying to tackle this bug, I experience a strange problem. I didn't understand why you included all the Makefiles and the config.* files, too, but tried to remove them from the patch and then re-build the package. Bug#591111: RFC: SQLite3 in Squeeze
Hi, Laszlo Boszormenyi g...@debian.hu writes: There's a problem with SQLite3 3.7.0 in Squeeze. The version in testing (3.6.23.1-4) was suitable to release. Next major upstream version (3.7.0) was released, which was uploaded to unstable. Then freeze happened. The latest release came with problems, like slow song change with Banshee (reported as #591298 [1]). This might also be the cause of failures in the test suite of libdbd-sqlite3-perl (#59 [0]): --8---cut here---start-8--- # Failed test at t/08_busy.t line 101. # Your testing environment might be too slow to pass this test: DBD::SQLite::db do failed: disk I/O error at t/08_busy.t line 100, READER line 1. # Failed test at t/08_busy.t line 101. # Your testing environment might be too slow to pass this test: DBD::SQLite::db do failed: disk I/O error at t/08_busy.t line 100, READER line 2. # Looks like you failed 2 tests of 23. t/08_busy.t .. # Waiting for child... Bug#593043: libconfig-simple-perl broke publican
On 08/16/2010 08:52 AM, gregor herrmann wrote: On Mon, 16 Aug 2010 09:58:26 +0200, Raphael Hertzog wrote: If you stop above on an empty array, then this change is not needed IMO. Ack. I've now replaced the old patch with your proposal [0], and both the test suite and the test.pl from #365190 pass with it. Tony, what do you think about that? (Committed in svn) First off, thank you to Raphael for the patch and to Gregor for testing. Since the -4 revision of libconfig-simple-perl has not migrated from unstable to testing, I'm not sure that we have an issue regarding squeeze or the release. I'm going to upload revision -5 to unstable so that publican builds again in unstable and so that if we do need to ask for an exception for libconfig-simple-perl, that the right version of the package is in the archive.
