'reopen' may be inappropriate when a bug has been closed with a version;
you may need to use 'found' to remove fixed versions.

Bug#660065: doesn't start complaining being unable to open a font file

2012-02-15 Thread Raf Czlonka
Package: tmw
Version: 20110911-2
Severity: serious

Hi,

After starting tmw I get these errors:

§ tmw
Error: Unable to load 'fonts/dejavusans-mono.ttf':
SDLTrueTypeFont::SDLTrueTypeFont: Couldn't open
/usr/share/mana/data/fonts/dejavusans-mono.ttf
§ ls -lA /usr/share/mana/data/fonts

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 49 Feb 13 17:24 dejavusans.ttf ->
../../../fonts/truetype/ttf-dejavu/DejaVuSans.ttf

The link is simply missing from that directory and it can be easily
fixed:

§ cd /usr/share/mana/data/fonts; sudo ln -s
../../../fonts/truetype/ttf-dejavu/DejaVuSansMono.ttf dejavusans-mono.ttf

Raf

This arises with perl 5.14 on i386, as described at

Patch, which adds $Config{ccflags} to the build environment, fixes this.

Hi,

automatic installation tests of packages that share a file and at the
same time do not conflict by their package dependency relationships has
detected the following problem:

WARNING: The following packages cannot be authenticated!

This is a serious bug as it makes installation fail, and violates
sections 7.6.1 and 10.1 of the policy. An optimal solution would
consist in only one of the packages installing that file, and renaming
or removing the file in the other package. Depending on the
circumstances you might also consider Replace relations or file
diversions. If the conflicting situation cannot be resolved then, as a
last resort, the two packages have to declare a mutual
Conflict. Please take into account that Replaces, Conflicts and
diversions should only be used when packages provide different
implementations for the same functionality.

Here is a list of files that are known to be shared by both packages
(according to the Contents file for sid/amd64, which may be
slightly out of sync):

  /usr/lib/debug/usr/bin/vpxdec
  /usr/lib/debug/usr/bin/vpxenc

of this kind see http://edos.debian.net/file-overwrites/.

Hi Adam, thanks for the bug report.

The point is that python-gudev is a core component for udev-discover.
This means there's no replacement for this library.
I think the better could be just to mark the package for being
avaliable for linux kernels only. Do you agree?

Bug#660032: libjs-dojo: Does not build using new 1.7.1 release

2012-02-15 Thread Bo Lorentsen
Package: libjs-dojo-core
Version: 1.6.1+dfsg-1
Severity: serious
File: libjs-dojo
Tags: patch
Justification: fails to build from source

Dear Maintainer,

When trying to upgrade you dojo package from 1.6.1 to 1.7.1, the build
system in debina/rules no longer worked as the dojo guys had changed
the build arguments.

I changed the debian/rules file using this patch :

20c20
< cd util/buildscripts && java -cp /usr/share/java/shrinksafe.jar
org.mozilla.javascript.tools.shell.Main build.js profile=standard
version=debian releaseName=. cssOptimize=comments.keepLines
optimize=shrinksafe.keepLines action=release
---
> cd util/buildscripts && ./build.sh profile=standard
version=debian releaseName=. cssOptimize=comments.keepLines
optimize=shrinksafe.keepLines action=release

This, together with a new upstream source package make the new package
build again (and some changes in debian/changelog).

I hope to se new dojo packages in the ned debian release that is not
too old :-)

Regards

/BL

Hi Adam, thanks for the bug report.

The point is that python-gudev is a core component for udev-discover.
This means there's no replacement for this library.
I think the better could be just to mark the package for being
avaliable for linux kernels only. Do you agree?

Regards,

Well, not exactly. It FTBFS with buggy versions of
freebsd-buildutils. The bug causing this was fixed in 9.0-3:

  * Remove getline kludge. The second part was unneeded, the first one
caused version_gen.awk to hang.

However precisely since 9.0-3 freebsd-buildutils hasn't been buildable
on non-kfreebsd.

I just uploaded 9.0-6 to fix this.

I forgot to mention that I've built a package off of this diff and
tested it and it seems to work fine (I have no way of testing that the

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package starts processes
where it shouldn't. This is very probably due to not using invoke-rc.d
as mandated by policy 9.3.3.2. This is seriously disturbing! ;-)

See http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-opersys.html#s9.3.3
and /usr/share/doc/sysv-rc/README.invoke-rc.d.gz as well
as /usr/share/doc/sysv-rc/README.policy-rc.d.gz

In that set of tests, #1 checks that the Sane Perl library can be
found. This must have passed, as all the other tests would have failed
otherwise. #2 checks the status having opened the test backend. I
assume opening the test backend is hanging.

If this continues to be a problem, the next check would be to try the
tests built into scanimage.

Thanks for your work on this.

Bug#646449: libosip2 upload to unstable

2012-02-15 Thread Hector Oron
Dear fellows,

I would like to check if there is something holding RC fix in
unstable for libosip2 package. Currently it is blocking some packages
to build on armhf and s390x. If you dont have the time, would you have
anything against unstable NMU?

Kind regards,

Dear maintainer,

I've prepared an NMU for policycoreutils (versioned as 2.1.0-3.1),
based on the patches from Mitsuya Shibata and Hideki Yamane in
#640630 and #652758, and uploaded it to DELAYED/4.

Please feel free to tell me if I should delay it longer.

Regards.

Bug#647613: boswars: Crashes when loading saved game.

2012-02-15 Thread Marc Dequènes (Duck)

Coin,

By mistake i sent this mail (below) to the BTS without you being in
the recipients. Dean Evans also tried to contact you but i didn't see
any reply from you. Could you have a look and give us more information
about your problem please?

Regards.

Quoting "Marc Dequènes (Duck)" :

Did you load a game saved with the same Boswars version ? If not,
upstream authors do not aim at supporting save game upgrades, and
even refused my suggestion[1] to detect the situation and warn the
user instead of crashing. In this case feel free to support my
request by reopening the upstream bug.

If you made it with the same version, then this is a new bug. Please
provide your save game file so as to be able to reproduce the
problem.

Regards.

The failed build on i386-hurd was given back and succeeded. I expect the
same to happen for the other failed builds too. Closing.

Bug#659994: [regression] icedove: symbol lookup error: [...]/libdbusservice.so: undefined symbol: NS_Alloc

2012-02-15 Thread Ansgar Burchardt

Package: icedove
Version: 3.0.11-1+squeeze7
Tags: security
Severity: grave

Hi,

since the last security update for icedove, the program does not start
on several computers here. Instead the following error message is
displayed:

/usr/lib/icedove/icedove-bin: symbol lookup error:
/usr/lib/icedove/components/libdbusservice.so: undefined symbol: NS_Alloc

I haven't had time to look at his in more detail, but the error message
looks like #617759 or #659301.

There is also a report on the -user list[1].

Regards,
Ansgar

On Tue, 31 Jan 2012 01:19:30 +0200, Andriy Beregovenko wrote:

I think this bug is invalid; 1.6.0-1 was the first upload to Debian,
so there's nothing it can overwrite.

If someone has installed packages from some other source [0], it's up
to them to make sure their system runs.
(In theory a Breaks/Replaces on third-party packages could be added
but since the code.google download page has 1.6.1 it's a bit difficult
to do this -- which version should be used?)

I suggest to (downgrade the severity of this bug to wishlist or) just
close the bug.

Cheers,
gregor, not affiliated with the package, just looking at RC bugs

Bug#626019: libsane-perl: FTBFS on sparc (test hang?)

2012-02-15 Thread Salvatore Bonaccorso
Hi

I just uploaded libsane-perl 0.04-1 to the archive. And it builded now
fine on sparc.

*But*: Trying to build the package on smetana.d.o still, sometimes the
tests hang. I'm not sure if we should downgrade severity here, as the
cause is not yet clear.

Regards,
Salvatore

I guess you can reproduce the problem by running "fmtutil-sys --byfmt
jadetex" as root, right?

I see a lot of sty files from hyperref in /usr/local/share/texmf,
which are read by initex when generating the format file for jadetex.
Could you (temporarily) hide them by renaming the texmf tree and
rerun mktexlsr?

gcc-4.6 isn't in squeeze. Nor are the binutils that generate such dwarf
operations.

If you want to support a post-squeeze toolchain, please use a
post-squeeze valgrind.

Bug#659965: backintime: does not give any warning when cron job fails

2012-02-15 Thread Julian Gilbey
Package: backintime-common
Version: 1.0.8-1
Severity: grave
Tags: patch
Justification: potential data loss

I hadn't checked that my backups were working recently, and to my
horror discovered that nothing had been backed up since I last
checked. The reason for this? There was a directory with permissions
1354 (!!), and rsync couldn't deal with this. So rsync bombed out
with an error and backintime therefore decided that the backup had
failed and deleted the new_backup directory. But there was no warning
- cron didn't give an error message or anything.

Proposals:

(i) Remove the "2>&1" from the crontab entry (patch attached); this
way, warnings will be emailed.

(ii) If the backup fails, backintime should exit with a big fat
warning message and probably a non-zero exit code.

Thanks!

   Julian

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to upgrade from

It installed fine in 'squeeze', then the upgrade to 'sid fails
because it tries to overwrite other packages files without declaring a
replaces relation.

Bug#657754: dracut: fails to install when no kernel available

2012-02-15 Thread Andreas Beckmann
Package: dracut,dracut-network
Followup-For: Bug #657754

Hi Thomas,

in 013-5 the installation in a chroot no longer fails, but it still
seems to create an initrd and spews a lot of error messages:

and in the end after package purge an initrd is left behind:

0m22.1s ERROR: FAIL: Package purging left files on system:

Using hook scripts and triggers like initramfs-tools might be a solution.

FYI, without jadetex installed, the upgrade is OK.
Now, I don't know where the bug is.

Oracle (klaus) say that v3.2.x is not affected for both CVE-2012-0105

Did you recently switch to the usage of
"root=UUID=df24bea0-5520-4281-b053-021bd5a96628" or did you use the
very same kernel command line also with the older version of
initramfs-tools?

Same question for MODULES=dep (and as noted in the error message
switching to MODULES=most will work around your issue).

Please also provide output of 'mount' of your system.

Bug#659951: CVE-2012-0105

2012-02-15 Thread Alexey Eromenko
Debian lacks the infrastructure to compile
"virtualbox-guest-additions-iso", so while the upstream source code is
free, the result is not.
This is due to dependency on non-free software such as Microsoft DDK,
required to compile "virtualbox-guest-additions-iso".

Therefore: "virtualbox-guest-additions-iso" is part of the Debian's
"non-free" repository, and therefore unlikely to be fixed.

AFAIK Debian's Policy is not to issue security updates for it's
"contrib" and "non-free" sections. Only support for the "main" section
is covered.

Recommended action: CLOSE, WONTFIX (for
"virtualbox-guest-additions-iso" package)

What might get fixed, is "virtualbox-ose-guest-*" packages, which are
part of the "main" section.
Do you want to open a separate bug or change the package of this bug ?

One more note:
v4.1.8 is fixed, according to Oracle. (so potentially only Squeeze is
affected, Wheezy is not)
