Bug#666379: gnome-mastermind: FTBFS dbhierx.mod parser errors
Hi Lucas, http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=666379 The package has no Build-Depends on docbook-xml, and you wrote that internet was not accessible from the build systems. So where did the file dbhierx.mod come from ? Regards, Bart Martens -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Bug#670882: libnss3-1d: Iceweasel says that various sites use an invalid security certificate

And it occurs with a new profile if I copy the old cert8.db file. That would seem to indicate something weird in your cert8.db... Not necessarily weird. No such problems with the previous libnss3-1d version. Could libnss3-1d log messages about this cert8.db file? Your best bet might be to check some of the tools in libnss3-tools (like certutil) and check what's peculiar to your cert8.db (checking against a fresh one) The problem seems to be that the new libnss3-1d is confused by intermediate certificates from cert8.db that are in the chain. For instance, if I remove the UTN-USERFirst-Hardware certificate with certutil -D -d .mozilla/firefox/xwsukxd4.test6/ -n UTN-USERFirst-Hardware the problem disappears on https://www.zeroforfait.fr/. As an example, I've attached the two certificates. Perhaps the old libnss3-1d was ignoring certificates of cert8.db below the root certificate? (There isn't much in the changelog). I can't reproduce the problem with either certificates, except if I explicitely distrust them. But in that case, it happens on 3.13.4 as well as 3.13.3. Bug#664930: Matthias' patch seems to be the correct action
Hi, I have had a look at the changes in heimdal's upstream repo. The change was introduced in commit https://github.com/heimdal/heimdal/commit/af011f57fc4ae6e865bab471c20aa9047e4e19d4 5 months ago and is based on another commit https://github.com/heimdal/heimdal/commit/6e04b05e9d8b76f74a130f1ce0819cd8d4f34d05 10 months ago. Looking closer at 6e04b05e9d8b76f74a130f1ce0819cd8d4f34d05 one can see that even upstream uses the the values NULL and 0 for the two new arguments in the call to hdb_generate_key_set() from within hdb_generate_key_set_password(). Inside hdb_generate_key_set() there is logic to handle the fallback to default keytypes when the value NULL is passed for the argument ks_tuple. Commit af011f57fc4ae6e865bab471c20aa9047e4e19d4 only exposes these new arguments in hdb_generate_key_set_password()'s argument list but keeps the internal logic in hdb_generate_key_set() when the value for the argument ks_tuple is NULL. So I consider Matthias' patch correct Best regards PEter PS: for me this patch made OpenLDAP 2.6.31 compile flawlessly. -- Peter Marschall pe...@adpm.de -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#670097: gnome-shell: random hang causes data loss
2012/4/30 Michael Biebl bi...@debian.org: From time to time the Gnome shell will just freeze/hang and not accept any input How often is from time to time? Is this related to specific actions/circumstances, e.g. running an OpenGL game or something similar. At least once a week. Usually I run these applications: chromium, gnome-terminal, geany, retext, evince. (keyboard or mouse) and all I can do is restart gdm3 or the laptop. So the system does not lock up completely? I.e you can still switch to the console or access the system via e.g. SSH? Yes, the system is responsive but only Gnome is in a deep freeze. Even if I kill the front app from a tty the Gnome shell still displays it — all I can do is restart gdm3. Now I'm in the same situation and the latest changes made in a document I'm writting are going to be lost as I have no way to save them. If you are able to still access the system via the console, you might just kill the gnome-shell process, in which case it should be restarted. I'll do this next time. This is the second most annoying thing for me in Debian 7.0 (wheezy). I cannot tell what causes this, there is nothing in the syslog. I've attached the current process listing - maybe you can spot something. Unfortunately not. Is it possible, that you compile gnome-shell with debug symbols [1] and attach gdb when such a freeze occurs (if you are able to still access the system). Which Xorg driver do you use? Do those freezes also occur with the gnome-shell version from testing or is this something specific in 3.2.2.1-3? This is not specific to current version. I postponed this report until now just to test if Gnome 3.4 has the same problem. Thanks -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? An optimal solution would consist in only one of the packages installing that file, and renaming or removing the file in the other package. Depending on the circumstances you might also consider Replace relations or file diversions. If the conflicting situation cannot be resolved then, as a last resort, the two packages have to declare a mutual Conflict. Please take into account that Replaces, Conflicts and diversions should only be used when packages provide different implementations for the same functionality. Here is a list of files that are known to be shared by both packages (according to the Contents file for sid/amd64, which may be slightly out of sync): /usr/include/drmaa.h /usr/lib/libdrmaa.so This bug is assigned to both packages. If you, the maintainers of the two packages in question, have agreed on which of the packages will resolve the problem please reassign the bug to that package. You may also register in the BTS that the other package is affected by the bug. -Ralf. This source package contains the following files from the IETF under non-free license terms: rabbitmq-server-2.8.1/plugins-src/eldap-wrapper/eldap-git/doc/draft-ietf-asid-ldap-c-api-00.txt The license on RFC/I-Ds is not DFSG-free, see: * http://wiki.debian.org/NonFreeIETFDocuments * http://bugs.debian.org/199810 According to the squeeze/wheezy release policy, source packages must be DFSG-free, see: * http://release.debian.org/squeeze/rc_policy.txt * http://release.debian.org/wheezy/rc_policy.txt The severity is serious, because this violates the Debian policy: * http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-archive.html#s-dfsg There are (at least) three ways to fix this problem. In order of preference: 1. Ask the author of the RFC to re-license the RFC under a free license. A template for this e-mail request can be found at http://wiki.debian.org/NonFreeIETFDocuments 2. Remove the non-free material from the source, e.g., by re-packaging the upstream archive and adding 'dfsg' to the Debian package version name. 3. Move the package to non-free. General discussions are kindly requested to take place on debian-legal or debian-devel in the thread with Subject: Non-free IETF RFC/I-Ds in source packages. Luckily, it's also very easy to fix! Why are you even trying to userdel rabbitmq? Just don't do that, it's really ok (and I believe *better*) to leave the system user when the package is removed. Anyway, the issue is very simple: you are deleting the user *before* rabbitmq had enough time to shutdown. That's in fact one more reason why you should be using start-stop-daemon, in your init.d script, which will wait nicely until the daemon dies. Anyway, here's how to reproduce. Install a fresh SID, then do: apt-get install rabbitmq-server Then try to remove: apt-get --purge remove rabbitmq-server Then here's the error: Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done The following packages will be REMOVED: rabbitmq-server* 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 1 to remove and 0 not upgraded. 1 not fully installed or removed. After this operation, 1,970 kB disk space will be freed. Do you want to continue [Y/n]? y (Reading database ... 22278 files and directories currently installed.) Removing rabbitmq-server ... Bug#671059: freemat: primary contents missing
Package: freemat Version: 4.0-4 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable The freemat package lost the actual freemat binary between versions 4.0-3 and 4.0-4, along with three supporting files: /etc/xdg/FreeMat/FreeMat v4.0.conf /usr/share/pixmaps/freemat/freemat.xpm /usr/share/applications/freemat.desktop It looks like only the i386 build you uploaded still includes those files; please fix the build procedure (which I see you recently reworked) to handle builds covering only architecture-dependent binary packages properly. Bug#671044: install-reloc is invoked with too many arguments
Hi, I received the bug report below when compiling GNU FreeDink on Debian/kFreeBSD and Debian/Hurd. Is this a bug in gnulib, or did I do something wrong? Cheers! Bug#671063: proftpd-basic: should renew dhparams.pem file (last updated on 2008-09-07)
Package: proftpd-basic Severity: grave Tags: security Justification: user security hole proftpd-basic ships with a file /etc/proftpd/dhparams.pem with the following header text: # Note that these DH parameters should be refreshed every so often (e.g. # every few years). These parameters were last updated on 2008-09-07. Seems to me that few years have gone by now, and will be long gone by the end of the supported lifecycle of a stable Debian release. I understand that the parameters are CPU-hungry to generate (I am trying right now on a virtual server and only half way through after an hour), so makes sense to not generate at install time, and probably not at every build either. I therefore suggest to not install the upstream provided file but one shipped with the Debian packaging, provide a custom build target to regenerate that file, and have the normal build routines check the embedded timestamp and fail if more than one year old. This would break with non-multiarch versions of libxml2, but that's acceptable. A simple LoadFile libxml2.so.2 doesn't work? Or any other way to make it obey the normal dlopen search path? Unfortunately, Apache treats all non-absolute pathnames as relative to the server root directory. It will never pass a non-absoulute path to dlopen(). But we could change it to only do this if the relative pathname contains at least one slash. Implemented that slightly differently: If the lib is not found in the server-root and the pathname has no slash, re-try with dlopen-search path. I have just uploaded apache 2.2.22-5. With it, a simple LoadFile libxml2.so.2 should do the trick. I think this is now the preferred solution. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact listmas...@lists.debian.org

Perhaps one needs more than the above one (there are other certificates that are in the chain). Is there a way to do a request with certutil like Firefox does, and get information of what is done (e.g. which certificates from cert8.db are used)? -- Vincent Lefèvre vinc...@vinc17.net - Web: http://www.vinc17.net/ 100% accessible validated (X)HTML - Blog: http://www.vinc17.net/blog/ Work: CR INRIA - computer arithmetic / AriC project (LIP, ENS-Lyon) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#671044: freedink: FTBFS[!linux]: too many args to install-reloc
Hi Steven, 'install-reloc' indeed does nothing special in the case of FreeDink+Linux, but it is run as part of the gnulib infrastructure. (I see you understand the relocatable-prog module quite well, but I post this link for other people to understand how it works:) http://www.gnu.org/software/gnulib/manual/html_node/Supporting-Relocation.html#Supporting-Relocation In the general case I guess that all systems using ELF and supporting rpath can skip the wrapper as well, but let's hear from the gnulib developers first :) I suppose the patch requires a re-bootstrap? Bug#671044: freedink: FTBFS[!linux]: too many args to install-reloc
Hi, On 01/05/12 21:13, Sylvain wrote: (I see you understand the relocatable-prog module quite well, but I post this link for other people to understand how it works:) http://www.gnu.org/software/gnulib/manual/html_node/Supporting-Relocation.html#Supporting-Relocation Ummm, not really, not before today :) So thanks for the link! In the general case I guess that all systems using ELF and supporting rpath can skip the wrapper as well, but let's hear from the gnulib developers first :) Someone more knowledgeable should really answer that... But I thought my patch disabled the use of rpath on these platforms, like Debian recommends in: http://wiki.debian.org/RpathIssue And so this makes install-reloc unnecessary, and the (working) install-sh is used instead. I suppose the patch requires a re-bootstrap? Yes I believe autoconf should be run so that ./configure is rebuilt using the patched m4 script (for me this happened anyway during dpkg-buildpackage, but I expect you will do this before uploading). Bug#630667: yapra: Installs files under / and /yapra directly
Jonathan Nieder wrote: Wonderful. I'll contact you through a bug against the release.debian.org package (as described at [1] + [2]) with further instructions. Ok, time ran away. Here are instructions for making an s-p-u upload, like I wish someone had provided for me my first time (I'm sending these directly instead of filing a bug because I ran out of time): 1. Take the source for yapra/0.1.2-4. Modify the changelog to say yapra (0.1.2-3+squeeze1) stable; urgency=low so this version sorts between 0.1.2-3 and 0.1.2-4 and is targetted at squeeze. 2. File a bug using reportbug release.debian.org describing the proposed upload and attach a debdiff. Test. 3. Once the release team gives aproval, upload as usual. Your package will show up at [3]. Thanks, and sorry for the slow reply.
