Bug#688413: accountsservice: Makes gnome-shell crash libglib-2.0
Hi, Le vendredi 02 novembre 2012 à 09:53 +, Simon McVittie a écrit : I've sent a possible patch to the upstream bug https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=50112 and built .debs with that patch http://alioth.debian.org/~smcv/ (version 0.6.21-6+smcv1), but since I can't reproduce the crash on-demand, I can't be very confident that it has actually been fixed... testing or review welcome. Git repository (cloned from collab-maint): git://anonscm.debian.org/users/smcv/qa/accountsservice.git http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=users/smcv/qa/accountsservice.git In particular, Josselin, since you have recipes that can apparently reproduce this reliably (although they didn't work for me either...), it'd be really useful if you could try the patched accountsservice library. Thanks Simon for the patch. I can confirm it fixes #688413. Let’s wait to see what upstream has to say about whether this is the proper fix. Cheers, -- .''`. Bug#692215: yatex: recommend non-free ptex-jtex and list non-existing binary packages texlive-bin gimageview jweblint
Package: yatex Version: 1.76+dfsg1-2 Severity: serious Justification: Policy 2.2.1 The main archive area I admit this bug may be tagged as wheezy-ignore per wheezy release policy http://release.debian.org/wheezy/rc_policy.txt Also, the interpretation of policy have some room to be debated. http://bugs.debian.org/681419 I am filing this bug under serious so you can upload fix for wheezy and unblock request can be accepted. If you do not agree and still wish to release this package in this state, you can downgrade bug severity to whatever you think is right to prevent this to be removed from the release. Anyway, this package defines very strange package dependencies and requires serious re-evaluation of package dependencies. Currently: Depends: emacs23 | emacs22 | emacs21 | xemacs21-mule | xemacs21-mule-canna-wnn, install-info Recommends: ptex-bin | ptex-jtex, texlive-bin Suggests: jbibtex, mendexk, jweblint | weblint, iceweasel | www-browser, gimageview Please note we must use the binary package name or the virtual package name for these dependencies. Problems I can spot are the following: emacs22Now not for wheezy. why not use virtual package emacsen? ptex-bin Now this is replaced by texlive-lang-cjk ptex-jtex Non-free package -- Should be in suggest field to be safe (non-free can not be in recommends but can be in suggests.) texlive-binSource package name. Use texlive-binaries jbibtexNon-existing. Use jbibtex-bin ? jweblint Non-existing. Use weblint-perl ? gimageview Non-existing. I do not know. Drop ? This is very broken situation. In addition to these, if we list only texlive-binaries, it does not provide decent font supports. So texlive-latex-recommended is something we should have for recommends. To fix this mess, I propose attached patch to change above to: Depends: emacs23 | emacsen, ${misc:Depends}, install-info Recommends: texlive-latex-recommended, texlive-lang-cjk Suggests: jbibtex-bin, mendexk, ptex-jtex, weblint-perl | weblint, iceweasel | www-browser Since gimageview has been removed from debian, I dropped it. If you know some graphics viewer is suggested, you can list any pertinent current package in suggests in addition to the above my proposal. Anyway some update is needed to make this package in some reasonable shape. Bug#690152: bsaf: FTBFS: Test, org.jdesktop.application.TaskMonitorTest failed
Hi, Here's what I found out so far about this bug. Unsetting the DISPLAY environment variable works around the FTBFS error by skipping the failing Junit tests. However, unsetting DISPLAY is not the preferable/acceptable solution, as it simply skips the failing tests. Check out the build.xml. Several tests are only conditionally executed, depending on whether DISPLAY is set: i.e. test name=org.jdesktop.application.BadSessionStateTest if=have.display/ where property have.display is conditionally set earlier on based on: isset property=env.DISPLAY/ I turned to debugging the Junit tests and determined that the following tests are failing: test name=org.jdesktop.application.BadSessionStateTest if=have.display/ test name=org.jdesktop.application.CustomPropertySupportTest if=have.display/ Cheers, - Matteo -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. The boot sequence always just stopped after resolvconf. The system would not do anything else than respond to Ctrl+Alt+Del for reboot. After some fiddeling around I realised that booting with the .legacy- bootordering file in place would work but issue an error message in /etc/network/if-up.d/upstart that the return statement in line 15 is not allowed. Initially Version 0.7.3 was installed. Ubdating to 0.7.4 did not change the situation. Even downgrading did not remove the defective files. I now purged ifupdown and reinstalled 0.7.2 which works again. Bug#690152: bsaf: FTBFS: Test org.jdesktop.application.TaskMonitorTest failed
Hi, The stack trace led me to suspect the root cause of the issue lies in the java.beans package. I built the bsaf sources and tests with the default jdk (/usr/lib/jvm/default-java - java-6-openjdk) and then ran the entire testsuite with openjdk-7-jdk by changing the exported JAVA_HOME to /usr/lib/jvm/java-7-openjdk-amd64 All tests passed with openjdk-7. Bug#682050: fails to connect to server using non default port
I agree with Josh's assessment. As I noted in 668239, different host keys for different ports on the same server are clearly documented in the OpenSSH man page. Hence, the assessment in the initial bugreport and hostkey.patch are clearly wrong. I tested dropping hostkey.patch and this makes paramiko work again with non-standard port settings. Maybe the problem described in the original report is due to the behaviour mentioned in http://lwn.net/Articles/222649/? [See also https://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=910]. This fallback behaviour seems to be not present in paramiko and is not adressed by the current patch. So can we get a new version with the wrong patch reverted? It makes the situation worse than before. -- Lars -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact listmas...@lists.debian.org

Hi, I was checking this bug today. I was able to reproduce the bug, but then once I entered some other account info, it didn't appear again... I will try again. Apart from that, the problem you're having about auth errors is not a bug, it's just that you don't have all the information for a successful login, which is caused by the bug in the smtp window. I am not entirely sure whether this is the correct package, but since libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 is a common dependency for all of the applications where I experience the issue, this is my best guess. Here is a screenshot where the issue is visible: https://wensveen.files.wordpress.com/2012/04/screenshot-from-2012-04-16-085408.png Usually the problems begin when I open my GMAIL in iceweasel, but the same happens with epiphany. Text is illegible and while moving the mouse cursor around (on redraws caused by css, probably) or scrolling, other text becomes illegible too, but some text turns normal. When this happens, other text in applications like gnome-terminal get garbled as well, as is visible in the screenshot. Sometimes, window titles are affected as well. However, text in Qt applications (such as konqueror) are not affected. Nor is text in java applications (such as PS3 Media Server). Unfortunately I can't pinpoint the moment when this started happening, but I think this has been happening for at least a month. At first I thought it had something to do with the video driver (xserver-xorg-video-radeon), but since only GNOME applications are affected, I ruled this possibility out (or at least highly improbable). Please let me know if you need any further information. Using nouveau with multiple monitors (although I don't think that it is related to that) Text very frequently gets corrupted, but images, video and 3d are not affected. This mostly occurs when using iceweasel and gnome-terminal, but evolution is also affected. When this happens, selecting the text or scrolling so it leaves the visible screen, appears to re-render it with the effect that the distortion changes, making it readable from time to time. When taking a screenshot, the corruption dissapears, but might re-appear after the text left the visible screen (a window that comes over it or scrolling. It doesn't occur with all text, usually only part of a sentence or a couple of lines. Good text can get corrupted again after selecting affected text. The problem doesn't occur when using the nvidia binary blob. My graphics card is a GForce 9800 GT. It also doesn't occur on my laptop with a GF8400M GS card. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-2-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages libdrm-nouveau1a depends on: ii libc6 2.13-33 ii libdrm22.4.33-1 ii multiarch-support 2.13-33 libdrm-nouveau1a recommends no packages. libdrm-nouveau1a suggests no packages. -- no debconf information ---End Message--- ---BeginMessage--- Source: xorg-server Source-Version: 2:1.12.4-2 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of xorg-server, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive. Bug#687693: ca-certificates: Cacert License is missing
On Sat, Nov 03, 2012 at 03:28:08PM -0500, Michael Shuler wrote: Control: severity -1 serious Control: tags -1 pending (Setting to serious, due to policy violation) After reading the -legal thread, comments above, the CAcert mailing list thread, the Fedora explanation, and carefully reading the licensing myself, the cautious side of me says the right thing to do is remove the CAcert certificates from the package. This change will be committed to the collab-maint git repo shortly. I appreciate the bug report, mejiko, and for others taking the time to consider this issue. I will consider a ca-certificates-cacert ITP for inclusion in non-free. Which debian-legal thread were you reading? Because the two comments I see cc:ed to this bug report from debian-legal, from Francesco Poli and Florian Weimer, both point out that *certificates are not copyrightable*. An SSL certificate is a unique representation of a mathematical fact; since it contains no creative element, copyright law does not provide for any monopoly rights prohibiting distribution. The CAcert license is therefore something we should entirely ignore, because it has no legal force. Your proposal to remove it from the package without specific legal guidance to the contrary is a gross overreaction. -- Steve Langasek Give me a lever long enough and a Free OS Debian Developer to set it on, and I can move the world.
