Bug#308639: kernel-build vs. kernel-headers splitted broken, headers unuseable
Can anyone confirm whether this bug still applies to the kernel-headers-2.6.11-powerpc in testing, or to the linux-headers-2.6.12-1-powerpc in unstable? I did build the marvell sata drivers earlier today, and they built just fine. They didn't work as expected though, but they built. Notice that the latest 2.6.11 kernel-build package should be fixed also, it is just the sarge kernels that are utterly broken in this regard. Oh, on further notice, the situation in the sarge kernel is different, well, it should work for kernel-build-2.6.8-powerpc, but the user complained about some kernel-headers-2.6.8-powerpc crap. there was never such a package, and never anything dependended on it, so i think the situation can be closed on powerpc. I suggest a radical rework of the headers/kernel-build part to make it work similar to the i386 pendants. Tell me if you need assistance, I just got a PPC box to play with it. Hi, A fix is being worked on for this, though I am not sure if/when it will be able to go into Sarge as the kernels for that release are frozen. -- Horms -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe.
