Hi,

the amd64 binaries seem to fix the issue for OpenTTD, or at least the
case that I could reproduce (start OpenTTD, make window always on top,
make other application get focus, click inside OpenTTD window and get a
lost mouse pointer).

The full build log is available from:
 http://people.debian.org/~lucas/logs/2010/03/16/cipux-rpcd.log

It is reproducible by installing your package in a clean chroot, using
the debconf Noninteractive frontend, and priority: critical.

This test was carried out using about 50 AMD64 nodes of the Grid'5000
platform. Internet was not accessible from the nodes.

Apparently re-enabling the git test suite (see #568915) reveals
another problem on the ia64. The test is in submodule support, so it
is probably worth disabling for the moment (since the rest of git
should be usable). What is most odd is that v1.6.6 built by hand on
merulo did not reveal the same problem.

The failed test:

 test_expect_success 'update --init' '

git config -f .gitmodules submodule.example.url "$(pwd)/init2" &&
git config --remove-section submodule.example
git submodule update init > update.out &&

git submodule update --init init &&
test -d init/.git

The remainder of t7400-submodule-basic.sh worked fine. I do not know
if any later tests would have failed, too.

With git 1.6.6 on merulo before the libc memchr fix, this did _not_
show up: although many other tests failed, t7400-submodule-basic.sh
had worked fine. [2]

To learn more, you can run sh t7400-submodule-basic.sh -v from the t/
subdirectory of a git build directory and look at the files in
"trash directory.t7400-submodule-basic". I would love to do so myself.
Any ia64 admins willing to provide access for debugging purposes?

Thoughts?
Jonathan

Bug#579227: Embedded code copy: libmozjs

2010-04-26 Thread Cyril Brulebois
Source: jscoverage
Version: 0.4-1
Severity: serious
Tags: security
Justification: ECC

Hi (again),

it was just noticed that the FTBFS on s390 I reported sounded like an
FTBFS previously dealt with in libmozjs, meaning you're embedding it
instead of just using libmozjs-dev and dropping your embedded code copy.
Given the security records on xulrunner thingies, I'm opening this at
serious severity with security tag…

Mraw,
KiBi.

Nicely done. Thanks for figuring it out.

One way to find other problems like this is to add ‘set -u’ to
git-sh-setup. I’m slowly working through the problems revealed that
way so hopefully this will not happen again.

Thanks,

Hi,

I'm not the package maintainer, just trying to help with RCs.

I can't really reproduce your bug, and I can't think of a way to trigger that
problem. How are you configuring SVN::Web? Are you accessing directly through
svnweb-server or are you configuring some independent web server like Apache?
In any case, which URL are you visiting to trigger that error? Do you really
have one or more SVN repositories inside /var/www/svn/repos, or is that path
itself an SVN repository?

Also, about the FreeBSD port patches, I don't think they're relevant for this
problem, and it seems they were applied in the next package revision (0.53-3)
anyway (which I assume has the same problem?).

Hello Bastian,

Actually, you already wrote it in #544751, which I forwarded upstream.

Forcemerging 579239 in 544751 will set the severity of your bug to ‘normal’. If
you need to use libbio-scf-perl on architectures where it is not yet available
in Debian, I suggest to contact the upstream author of libstaden-read-dev.

I'm not entirely sure if the severity is warranted, though -- the main part

I'm afraid this is mostly just black magic to me, so I can't do much except

Packages must autobuild without failure on all architectures on
which they are supported. Packages must be supported on as many
architectures as is reasonably possible.

Surely including counts as reasonable?

2010-04-26 Thread Marco Túlio Gontijo e Silva
Package: darcs

This package gives an error in the test part of the build if hlint is
installed, because it tries to search for a file that is not available in

Reassigning as the header clearly comes from libstaden-read-dev.

Setting to RC as the package is built but unusable.

If you had upgraded from 0.96+dfsg-1, things were kind of expectedly broken,
because it was broken in 0.96+dfsg-1 and 0.96+dfsg-2 happily imported those
files. Nothing but purge or manual fix would repair this.

I've now verified that LDAP and TLS work when not installing on a
network where the ldap DNS name already is defined. Because of this,
I lower the severity to normal.

I believe we should still look at making the certificate handling more
robust.

Happy hacking,

Hi,

It seems that I found the same issue in a Xen environment (using
linux-modules-2.6.26-2-xen-amd64). I experienced a crash twelve days ago
and today.

I raised the priority because of data loss: once the error appear,
(root) partition is remounted read-only, and then, the system is
rebooted (with difficulties: a daemon like mysqld fails to stop in a
read only environment); on restart, automatic fsck fails, and some data
are lost in the forced fsck process.

I'm not sure if the file system is in a really heavy load [1], DSpam may
cause MySQL to read and write some stuff on the FS, here is the end of
dmesg (log is slim since the whole partition was RO).

Changes:
 jack-audio-connection-kit (1.9.5~dfsg-3) unstable; urgency=low
 .
   * Fix restructure configure options to only add --firewire on
 supported architectures.
Closes: bug#579237, thanks to Bastian Blank.
   * Handle library ABI through generalized packaging variable.
   * Bump API to 0.118.0 (from 9.116.2): Jackd2 1.9.4 declared compliance
this newer version of jackd1, and does not promise backwards
 compatibility.
   * Tighten symbols older than API version to instead follow API: Future
alternative implementations potentially of older version themselves
are not assured to be binary compatible.
   * Have libjack-dev provide virtual libjack0.100.0-dev (...again - was
apparently lost at some point upgrading to jackd2).

There is at least two remotely exploitable format string vulnerabilities in the

Thank you. Just the reason I uploaded to experimental first. :)

The latter part is a simple typo, and a fix is commited to svn.

The former I am more unsure about. Based on
http://www.mail-archive.com/debian-...@lists.debian.org/msg01710.html >,
I suspect a fix would be something like this.

Bug#579297: wpasupplicant: wpa_supplicant disconnects and fails to reconnect (wpa-enterprise)

2010-04-26 Thread Georges Toth
Package: wpasupplicant
Version: 0.6.10-2
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

I have a strange problem for about half a year now, which is when I connect to
a WPA-Enterprise WiFi network (eduroam in this case) I loose my connection
after a certain amount of time, and wpa_supplicant fails to establish a stable
connection again after that.

So when I loose the connection that is actually the time when the AP requests
a re-authentication (AFAICT) and wpa_supplicant fails to do this "correctly".

Here some details:
AP:
IE: IEEE 802.11i/WPA2 Version 1

Version: 0.6.6-1
Severity: critical
Tags: sid
Justification: breaks unrelated software

After installing ocrfeeder the included module 'util' is installed for
system wide python access. This breaks exfalso/quodlibet, because they
try to access their own 'util' module, but get the one of ocrfeeder
instead and therefore crash at startup.

Package: dspam
Version: 3.6.8-9.3
Severity: serious
User: debian...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: proposed-removal

Dear Maintainers,

while reviewing some packages, your package came up as a possible
candidate for removal from Debian, because:

* last maintainer upload 09/2008
* RC buggy
* outdated
* uploaders not interested or MIA (?)
* not part of squeeze anyways and no solution in sight

If you think that it should be orphaned instead of being removed from
Debian, please reply to this bug and tell so.

If you disagree and want to continue to maintain this package, please
just close this bug and do an upload also fixing the other issues.

If you agree that it should be removed, send the following commands to
cont...@bugs.debian.org (replace nn with this bug's number):

severity nn normal
reassign nn ftp.debian.org
retitle nn RM:  -- RoM;
thanks

For more information, see
http://wiki.debian.org/ftpmaster_Removals
http://ftp-master.debian.org/removals.txt

If noone replies (which could mean I'm right about maintainers being
MIA), I'll go forward and request the removal on April 30th, 2010.

Thank you,
Hauke
on behalf of Debian QA/MIA

Thank you for taking the time to review the dspam package status. I
apologize for causing this extra work.

While the packages do not appear to have received adequate attention in
the last year and a half, Julien Valroff has in fact been working
diligently to prepare the new upstream release (from January) for upload
into experimental. This is the first solid release upstream release
in several years.

I would like to request a stay of execution, and suggest the
following plan:

First, determine which of the uploaders still have an interest in dspam.
I think there are currently at least three people who would like to
contribute to maintaining official Debian dspam packages.

Second, continue with the development of the experimental upload. I
think Julien is pretty close. Since his work differs considerably from
the current package, I think experimental is still warranted.

Third, prepare an upload to unstable which takes the current package to
3.6.8-10, fixing the RC issues and bringing it back into policy
compliance. I will work on that, if Julien has no objection.

DSPAM has been a Debian package for many years, and IMO it would be
unfortunate to remove it just when upstream finally got straightened
out and produced a new stable release.

Do not engage in BTS ping-pong.

Unless you or somebody else wants to use libstaden-read-dev on architectures
where it is not available, I think that the bug is not RC since there is no
regression.

If you want to twist my arm and make me work to provide a binary pakcage that
nobody will install, please appeal to the technical comittee.
